The present study aims at assessing the pollution type in the soil of the banks and Basins in Rumaitha city and its effect on the agricultural production. It is divided into three chapters : chapter One is devoted to investigate the natural Factors which are represented by (the location of the sample area, its geological and surface structure, climate properties, water resources, and natural plants) and humanistic Factors which are represented by (tilling and adjustment, irrigation, drainage and fertilization of the soil and the agricultural system). Chapter Two is concerned with the physical and chemical properties of the soil of the sample area while chapter Three investigated the Geographical distribution of soil pollution in the city of Rumaitha in which it discusses the definitions of pollution, its causes and effects on the agricultural areas. Some samples of soil and water were gathered during the period of the study (2015 - 2016). The study has concluded the following : Chapter OneThe results of the analysis of the banks and basins soils structures has shown contrastive mixtures of mud, mud - silt, and mud - silt - mud. Also the Virtual and real density of the soil is variant in the banks and basins. Moreover, the value of the organic material and soil reaction, and the average of the positive and negative ions, are variant too. Chapter Two The study shows that the geographical and humanistic factors have huge effects on some of the physical and chemical properties of the soil of Al - Rumaitha city and its relation to the agricultural production. Throughout the geological structure, surface equability, climate properties, paucity and scatter of natural plants, the quality of irrigation water, and water and salinity grade, several aspects of soil construction were identified which are reflected on the real structure and density of the soil. Moreover, it contains organic materials, salinity, and Positive and negative ions which are intensive in the soil of the basins rather than the banks of the river. The human has a big negative influence on these properties because of his wrong agricultural methods which are represented by tilling the soil, excessive irrigation especially in the unsuitable periods of irrigation, following the traditional methods in irrigation, the Scarcity of broaches, the wrong use of Chemical and organic fertilizers pesticides. All of these factors helped in the process of soil pollution and the intensity of salinity and heavy materials.Chapter ThreeThis chapter is concerned with salinity and osmotic pressure and mutual sodium and positive ions such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium, and negative ions like chlorine, sulfates, and bicarbonates as well as their importance to the plants. The role of the heavy factors to the developing plants appears during the germination, branching, flowering, and maturity stages and on the agricultural production as a whole. Although there are some factors of pollution, the soils of Al - Majid and AL - Najmi townships were the best in producing the various agricultural crops. While there is a decrease in production of Al - Hilal township especially on the banks of the river because they receive a lot of water pollution. It was also concluded that the soils of the banks are higher and better in their productive capability than the drains which are highly effected by the salinity and the intensity of heavy materials in addition to the bad management of the soil. The results of the analysis have shown that the city is copious with the various types of agricultural corps like grain, and vegetables. Sesame plant is the prominent in planting and production because of the suitable soil, and its capability to endure salinity which is scattered in farmlands.

The human being had realized through his gradual and continuous history of civilization and culture the importance of the development of his urban environment based on needs in social, economical, environmental and construction, which coincide with his ideas, lifestyle and with the updating of time, so he concentrated on the already constructed urban environment quality to meet the required needs. In order to achieve a comfortable standard of living, it has to be integrated in which consolidate those needs (which is adopted by the urban planning) with the form of the established urban space, and organizing the constructional environment parameters (adopted by the urban design). But, due to the shortage of knowledge in the relationship between the urban planning and urban design bases in the residential complexes - and here is the problem of the study - which oblige to create a goal for that, and that is to indulge the integration relationship in order to clarify its importance by putting the required knowledge base, and present their true states in order to consolidate their positives and to limit the negatives.Starting from the hypothesis the states : The integration of the relationship between both of the Urban planning and design - in the residential complexes - reflects positively on their efficient of performance, and the most physical appearance of this relationship is the "Urban Space" through certain task where it is so active in the presence of human being who gives a justification of the place development. So it was a link between the bases of urban planning items : social, economical, environmental and constructional, and with the bases of urban design items : identity of place and its character, continuity and enclosure in place, quality of the public realm, ease of movement, legibility, adaptability and diversity to reach the desired integration through an analytical descriptiveapproach to evaluate a certain residential complex, which is "AL - Salehia Residential Complex /ALKarkh {neighborhood 222}", to see at what level the integration between them is {with their essential and secondary items}, and how much they verified the integrity of this complex so to be easy to assess the other built complexes, as well as the ones which are not built. The results of the specialized questionnaire (which shows the strength of the relationship between both the urban planning and design elements to reach the integration among them), and the residents questionnaire (in order to know their opinions on their complex), and through the link of the two lists, it was possible to clarify the level of integrated achievement among those items, there is a strong tendency of the need of integration between planning & design, so it was (relatively) high ratios of the relationship strength between the bases of both the urban planning and the urban design, which assure the links of these bases. And practically, there are priorities for some items {in those bases} which made them higher ranking (Continuity and Enclosure in place,Quality of the Public Realm, Ease of Movement) than the items which came in lower ranking. Many conclusions have been submitted, the most important ones was : The integration between the urban planning and the urban design is not necessarily to be 100%, but it means : "The required relationship achievement" in order to achieve the comfort of the residents, and the difference of that relationship varies with its strength among each fundamental design element with all of the secondary planning elements. The study has reached a trial to create a new system that can measure the quality of living when the residential complexes are designed in order to be more comfort to the inhibiters, and it is called "The Integration of the Planning - Design Line" of the Residential Complexes in Iraq.
