Abstract:
The historic city centers are the heart of the cities they represent different periods of time experienced by the city, so they form the identity of the citys as well as being constitute the cultural heart of the historical, political, economic and social of the city, somany researchers and specialists planning were interested in the subject of urban renewal as a way to solve urban problems in the historic centers preservation and sustainability for future generations through the achievement of sustainable social,economic, environmental, cultural and physical dimensions, so the discussion deal with the relationship between innovation and sustainability through the presentation of the research problem, namely : (weakness of the complementary relationship between urban renewal and sustainability in the historical city centers) and resolve the research problem has been selected research hypothesis, which states : (the concept of a particular place development; works to achieve the complementary relationship between urban renewal and sustainability of the historic city centers), the research objectives were (1 : knowing the complementary relationship between the concepts of urban renewal and sustainability in historic city centers, Second : knowing the role of the privacy of theplace development; "preservation, cultural monuments, architectural identity, sense of place, a sense of belonging, heritage resources, culture and cultural planning" in the complementary relationship).As determined pursuant to the theoretical framework of the research problem and hypothesis, as first chapter discusses the definition of the concept of urban renewal and sustainability and sustainable renewal. The second chapter addressed the definition ofthe concept of privacy of the place which is known by the concepts of space and urban development and spatial and urban historical and cultural heritage and spatial development. The third chapter fitted theoretical framework derived from sortingthrough and discuss the construction of the first and second indicators corresponding with each other all the way to the final results, which represent indicators final research that have been applied in the practical side of the fourth chapter in the three aspects ofthe study area (Qishleh and its neighborhood) and a similar example ( Cairo's historic center) and the comparison between the results and analysis by the researcher.The research gives number of conclusions and final recommendations are the most important conclusions (that protect and improve the historical rehabilitation of historic buildings and exploitation of cultural activities that have a significant impact on thepromotion of belonging to the area of the environment. Through regulation or spatial planning uses to maintain the region and revitalization and historic preservation of resources to achieve linking the past with the future through the present. this is achievedthrough land use which have an impact significant on the sustainability of the historic preservation area; and that the nature of the use and the kind they have to suit the nature of the area, and that the study area need to redistribute uses to achieve long - termsustainability of the fabric urban; re - design of the urban environment and accordingly) One of the main recommendations of the research (giving importance to the role of the legislative framework and law in decision - making and to determine land use of the areaand historical power to impose laws on private property owners).
