المستخلص: Under the increased technical advancement occurring to about all of the life aspects and specially architecture, It’s no longer for the traditional facades to be able to keep up with the advanced user’s needs and to meet the functional performance and requirements on the environmental, ecological, social and aesthetical aspects, and here it became a necessity to develop another options that would be more efficient in the provision of those requirements, so a new generation of buildings have appeared called “Smart Buildings” or “Intelligent Buildings” with there sophisticated parts and various details, one of those essential parts is the “Intelligent Façade” for it’s being the essential and primary defensive line for the building against the environmental and climatic variations, in such an advanced high performance manner, and for that importance and essentiality of this specific part the research took it as it’s particular study topic, where it has reviewed and discussed a number of general studies on the façades in smart buildings, and many of a specific studies belonging to organizations and competent casts that have addressed the issue of intelligent façades in their projects, which their discussions produced an identification of a knowledge gaps and thus let to the crystallization of the research problem : “Lack of clear and organized knowledge concerning intelligent facades in buildings, so as they would be effectively adopted by the designer in creating such facades in his designs, or the possibility of developing ordinary existing facades on the Arab and local level”.Thereby determining the aim of the research by : “Present the most organized and clear knowledge concerning the intelligent facades in buildings in a manner that enables the designer to effectively adopting them to design or develop existing facades generally, in order to serve the existing of the Arab and local experience in particular”.To achieve such goal, it has been a necessity to adopt an analytical and descriptive approach for the previous knowledge and take a sequential researching steps, the first step was to build a comprehensive theoretical framework by defining the intelligent façade, down to abstracting three main vocabularies of the theoretical framework represented by : integrated intelligent façade design, intelligent façade techniques, and effective response, and represent them in a graphical form.The next research steps focused on applying the vocabularies of the theoretical framework on the elected Arabic and local projects that have been adopted the matter of intelligent and responsive façades in a matter that servers the research goal, which took over the design of facades where great attention had been paid to constituently try these experiments to achieve sustainability and energy conservation, and introduced virtual perceptions around them and determine the type of measurements, and data collection, and according to that the results would be analyzed and discussed down to put the final conclusions related to the theoretical framework in terms of the importance of the presented knowledge which enables the architect to be aware of the various aspects of designing intelligent facades and enables him to keep up with the technological advancement and development occurring to it in a way that makes it easy to adopt through his various designs, as well as conclusions related to the outcome of the case study on the other hand, which have shown the limited adaptation of the elected local projects to the intelligent façade techniques where active response had been limited to the environmental, visual and aesthetic aspects, in limited interacting capacity compared to the achievements of the elected arab projects, and accordingly have been identified a set of general recommendations related to an investment of the presented theoretical knowledge in development of visions and orientations of academic and professional fields to develop a forward - looking vision of a renewable local architectural ideas of sustainable and in line with the spirit of the age to be accepted and supported by the investors and beneficiaries, as well as specific recommendations of the possibility of developing and modernization of the existing facades of local buildings (represented by the elected projects) exclusively toward intelligent technologies that are effective response.

Depending on the natural items (trees, water, etc.) and artificial furniture items (chairs, lighting columns and the shelters) and became one of the architectural directions. And major element providing the comfort and harmony between exterior and interior contains and providing the environmental, functional, economic, cultural and social requirements for the space. Landscape Architecture as a direction connect the natural environment and artificial environment surrounding the human due to the functional requirement and environment requirement and as the global direction for the sustainability during the speed improving for all life aspects.The research mentioned as a general hub the concept of the Landscape Architecture and its distinguish between the open spaces and exterior spaces and assess its levels ( architecture versus Landscape, architecture and Landscape, landscape as an architecture) beside the modern direction of the sustainability and the ecological direction.The research took care as a special hub about the concept of the Eco - scape in the landscape architecture. Many dissertations and studies reviewed and discussed for many organization and associations are competent in designing the Eco - scape in their projects and through the discussion the scientific gaps have been determined. From the discussion we have the problem statement of the represented by there is no generalization for the concept of the Eco - scape of Landscape architecture and the most important aspect to achieve and from that the research problem statement determined as shapes of Eco - scape, elements of the Eco - scape, relationship/ principles of the Eco - scape, levels of generating the Eco - scape in Landscape Architecture, the role of the Eco - scape have been achieved in the Landscape architecture.The next steps focus on the theoretical frame elements on projects have been choose from the local projects and achieve the Landscape architecture in one of its three levels. After that analyze the results of the scientific studies and discuss it. Then give the final conclusions in two chapters. The first one contains the conclusions about theoretical frame. The second chapter contains the special conclusions of the implementing in the local case for the concept. This is the future that the Integrated Transportation refers to it, in its multimodal transportation, to make public transportation more enjoyable and intresting, in addition to passenger transportation and future movement of goods are also depend on multimodal transportation The importance of interchange promotion between multimodal as a basic feature of passengers buildings in modern transportation stations.The station building requires planning and design processors, as well as multiple regulatory requirements and services, it does not represent the convergence movement of travelers only but it is the place of the necessary processes for passengers movements exchange, trains exchange, other means of transportation, mix many systems of movement represent by passenger traffic between arrivals, departures and recipients. We can visualize the different traffic trends for each of them in this space or void called station, which follow each certain system in a particular direction, consequently its necessary to facilitate the communication between platforms and different spaces, with a peak of complexity in planning and design of station building many aspects should be taking in considerations in the design process : the functional requirements and aesthetic for the public travelers to find the best balance of reconcile the different activities, in order to face every part of the requirements, to help each other and to integrate the performance of his work efficiently. Therefore, the station building should be considered as a design for the complex engineering system, which aims to meet the needs of humanity and translate it into spaces, and service needs suits all types of travelers Due to variation of requirements depending on the age groups, health requirements and cultural requirements.The importance of research highlights in : the role of integrated multimodal transportation of local stations, necessity study for the levels of planning and the extent integration and functional, environmentally and operationally, Where this integration play a major role by giving the expressionistic and Iconium , especially there is lack of architectural studies in local libraries related to the subject of the foregoing , that leads to the Research problem : " lack of basic information to be placed as a specific standards for integrative transportation stations in Iraq according to design and planning in order to operate these stations efficiently, functionally, environmentally and socially ".The research adopt a descriptive approach, analytic criticism and analysis for the concepts and ideas to Testing the basic hypothesis : the integrated railway stations are huge and multi - facilities of activities which works such a cities by one - system consists of several systems integrated with each other in planning and a design within the scale of the urban planning process and to achieve efficiency operational stations with modern conception.The research was based on a theoretical framework for the basic research problem and hypothesis composed of three chapters the first chapter reviews the foundations and concepts of railway stations, most important components of the station buildings, the main function systems and to study the level of service standards and international areal standards. The second chapter studied the design conceptions of railway stations, functional and mobility systems, design standards, its environmental impact on functions. The third chapter reviews the integration of functional systems with multimodal transportation stations to clarify planning specifications, design criteria and its benefits to create integrated stations with railway stations. Then the research moves to Chapter four. which includes analysis of theoretical framework by giving brief about indicators and components of each chapter to test research hypothesis as well as comparative analysis studies of selected models for international unique stations around the world and to prove the research hypothesis, and access to a guidelines in order to apply these hypotheses to some international stations as well as the exposure to the reality of local experience in the light of the research study to try to promote their best. Down to the most important final conclusions of the research and providing a number of recommendations and possible studies for the future, branching from the research. Which are included in the fifth chapter.

It is is concentrated on establishing a theoretical framework in order to enhance the research and causality base, relying on the problem of the research, which focusses on the un clarity of the architectural styles of this important period.The research moves to explain the most important points and concepts.Starting by analyzing the previous studies which give us a classifies the research in the Succession of the styles for the period that the thesis have chosen, (The Abbasied period and the invasion of Al - Mongols and Othman ) since (280A.D to 1336 A.D).This leads the search to a main goal which is, to discover what is the commons and different and highlighted the effect of each one one the other. In the second part of the first chapter , it highlights the theoretical framework on the most important previous studies that dealt with the history and styles to know the ways that did not deal with the subject of the similar history as well as the most important methods that can be used as means to bring out such research , it also focus on the very clear knowledge gap that is represented as the basic problem of the research. "That the method of Succession could fill the gap of the concept for the study of styles within the different eras".The second chapter starts with a try to understanding the concept of styles and the path that is pursued through time and the changes which happened in its concepts. Assuming that the "Succession "could be a great tool to Investigates the styles for the periods that took place in our research. So, it has been the definition for the essence of the Succession and its potentials in finding architectural styles facts. Third chapter , is concerned with determinating the selected period of the study and the reasons for selecting , this period is characterized with "The late Abbasid which synchronize the Covenant Seljuk and Al - buehi in addition to the occupations of the Mughal and Ottoman".As the research deals with both of the analytical method and the comparative method in analyzing the historical periods with a choice of study samples (install location) with tracking these places across the time. So, the search in analyzing the style must depend and take more specialized direction for the purpose of diagnosing of formalism and precision ties to study the properties of the shape and the key elements of each historical era with the study of the elements of architectural profile in addition to the properties of architectural styles.this third chapter and the fourth chapter are based together on the analysis of examples of indicators that have been inferred in the second quarter for the conclusion of what is continued of styles and what is based on n demonstrating the impact of each one of them for what followed.

المستخلص: تمثل المحور العام للبحث بمفهوم الاسكان الميسر الذي يعد مفهوما واسعا يرتبط بمشاكل متعددة ابرزها هو توفير السكن اللائق لفئات محددة من الاسر (الاسر ذات الدخول المتوسطة والواطئة) وبرز من الادبيات التي تناولت تعريفه بانه يرتبط بنسبة (30%) من دخل الاسرة السن | The general idea of the research represented by the concept (Affordable Housing) that related to a several problems such as providing adequate housing to a specific range of households (median and low income). Previous literature showed that it deals with anniual household income with ratio of (30%).Solutions varied between units area and design on aunit level,and housing projects on an urban level.The research defined Affordable housing as (housing that serves the needs of the moderate and low income households of between (60% - 80%) of the area median income that units costs not exceed (30%) of the anniual household income.Smart Growth concept appeared to solve the problems of urban sprawl that the cities of twentieth century suffered from.It related to a previous planning and design movements embodied by the Garden City and New Urnanism.Previous literature showed that it’s a development contains aset of principles related to affordable housing and multi housing types to achieve environmental, social and economic dimensions.The specific idea of the research dealt with the relationship between Smart Growth and Affordable Housing.The research problems embodied as (Knowledge gab about the effect of smart growth principles at micro scale on the costs of Affordable Housing) since the research hypothesis is (Smart Growth principles varies in its effects on Affordable Housing costs) the research goal dealt with specifying relationship between Smart Growth principles and Affordable Housing costs at micro scale that contained (accommodation density,urban infill,mixed land use, multi housing types,sense of community).Framework illustrated Smart Growth principles related to Affordable Housing on micro scale in order to extract the framework terms.The research used the analytical method by applying framework terms to a five projects global,Arabic and local.Findings varied in their effect on Affordable Housing costs and the most effective principle is (multi housing types) in conclusions.Finally research showed a theoretical model explained relationship between Smart Growth principles and Affordable Housing costs with recommendations and future research perspectives along with thesis potential beneficiaries.

Considered that nations have been always known and studied through their culture and civilization, it is reasonable to state that architecture is an important entrance to understand privacy of specific society that have been formed through an interaction among social, economic and other aspects. Today, there is an immense and clear interest in human intellectual and artistic heritage, including those architectural and urban heritage. That is why this heritage - whether it goes back to a near or far time - is getting a special interest among others, because they are considered to be an entrance to study human existence, past, memories from specific time. As a result, it is considered to be his identity that shows human existence. Consequently, to protect that heritage is immensely important for what it is worth. Also, today, it is clear that technology evolved much further than anytime, and it is crucially important to collect all available data, as it plays an essential role and has a crucial effect on our present, and future.Accordingly, It is clear how crucially important to think in a certain way to deal with those building, to protect, revive and work to improve its sustainability and convenience by using advanced techniques and technologies, also to measure how suitable it is to beingpreserved by those techniques. Consequently, reaching to a reasonable and clear method to achieve its preservation and to preserve its historical and various properties. Although, thesis which have dealt with preservation are replicated, those which are general, they have dealt with the problem by using urban filling and renewal or traditional preservation’s methods. Whereas, those other private didn’t consider to adapt a clear method for preservation that achieves coherence and cohesion. As a result, the general axis for the research is identified with : The existence of informative gap in the current method of urban preservation, while the research’s problem is the lack of clarity in the informative knowledge that should be available to achieve the protective preservation (Sustainable) for architectural heritage. Accordingly, that shows the research’s target clearly, that is to identify suitable advanced methods to achieve the protective preservation (Sustainable) for architectural heritage. The research has stated its thesis : Preservation of historical and heritage architectural buildings depends on its capability to suit current and future requirements of society, and to balance the system of forms and values inside the urban scenery and to support it, as well as its capability to success economically and environmentally through using those building functionally.The research depends on analytic and descriptive method, which includes forming an informative theoretical framework about the historical and heritage architectural buildings, preservation, protective preservation (Sustainable) and to brief most important variables and indications for each term. Accordingly, the research has conducted that preservation of historical and heritage buildings is related to design in the first place, and it is possible for creative thoughts and techniques to vary according to the design vision. And analyzing those thoughts within functional variables, as well as temporal and spatial enriching have shown that whenever taking a decision for a functional change, the new function turns up with clarity and purposely, which comes with a clear program and undergoes to the protective preservation’s terms when preserved and directed. In all those buildings who have been preserved, especially the ones designed by famous architects, an advanced reliable techniques have been used, which confirms the protective preservation.When it comes to economic aspects, cost of conduction and sources of investment, the tourism and meaningful attraction as well as how well those preserved building function offer an additional sources of investment as well as the meaningful and iconic aspects which confirms its role in sustaining the building.

Also, thorough studies in the field of material properties, their specifications and inherent technologies, as well as their practical applications, are scarce.Based on these findings, the problematic of this study could be expressed as follow : there’s currently a lack of appropriate directed studies in the field of new construction materials, their use and their integration in architectural vision, based on a sustainable view, as well as the use of contemporary technology.So it has been developing a specific content target : 1 - The provision of general frameworks to solve the problems and challenges faced by the specialists at the use of new building materials.2 - provide a complementary theoretical and practical specifications for new building materials and environmental characteristics, functional and aesthetic effects in sustainable architecture knowledge.In order to address the stated problematic and reach the established goal, one hypothesis have been formulated : To address the problem of the research and achieve its objectives has been the development of research hypothesisas follows : (Technological development of new building materials contributes to draw the path towards sustainable urban environment, as the new and advanced structural materials and techniques used were able to create sustainable architecture achieve environmental, functional and aesthetic requirements) In order to test these hypothesis and assess their veracity, a theoretical framework was established, based on the following methodology steps : - The study of intrinsic relationship between architecture and building materials, starting with mud and stone buildings, then approaching other specific local and temporal architectures such as marshes buildings, the ever‘moving forward’ architectures of the successive industrial revolutions, the modernist movement in the beginning of twentieth century, sustainable architecture, and the new architecture of the third millennium. - The theoretical study of new building materials, their specificity and characteristics in the light of the latest evolution and development of sustainable architecture. The emphasis would be on smart materials and nanoparticles, as well as their potential. - The practical study of these materials and their effects when actually used in construction, while focusing on three aspects : environmental, functional and aesthetic. For that purpose, eight giant buildings which integrated new building materials, located in different environments, and performing different functions, were analyzed. The aim was to finduseful indicators for comparative analysis. - These three aspects (environmental, functional and aesthetic), were applied and studied on modern, local buildings,everyone performing a different function. Questionnaires forms were used, which were distributed to specialists in the field. It appears, after analysis of the answers in regard to the three aforementioned aspects, that the environmental aspect had the most positive impact, immediately followed by the functional aspect, then the aesthetic aspect, which comes last.

It has evolved over the years with the stability of its content where it is essential.The evolution of the concept in the contemporary architecture refers to the importance of the recipient and his reading of the text and architectural diversity of various aspects of Appropriateness such as (function, expression, economy... etc.). From this side the importance emerged to study the concept of Appropriateness and to identify its branches and aspects.the general problem of this research was about “Appropriateness in architecture”. The subject has been emerged in the linguistic and scientific studies so as in architecture to branch out several types and aspects which necessitated narrow down the search.Search been reduced to one type of Appropriateness which is expressive Appropriateness in products of architectural and the study identified the contemporary buildings because the importance of the concept in the current buildings.Research problem Identified as “Lack of a comprehensive objective perception about the concept of expressive Appropriateness in contemporary architectural production and the relationship between the designer intentions and the other indicators of special conceptThe study identified a procedural definition of expressive appropriateness as a "compatibility and degree of proportionality between designer intentions (expressionistic ideas to be delivered to the recipient) with what actually verified in the final product where productions vary in their suitability for designer intentions. Hence the aim of the research is to form an objective and comprehensive framework for expressive appropriateness properties and how they are invested to achieve the goals that are supposed expressive presence in the production and measure the achievement of goals expressive on elected projects for practical application.The hypothesis of this research has been Formed as expressive appropriateness actually realized in the architectural production through compatibility between intentional designer in output expressed goals and what Verifier in production, which depends on private recipients readings, as the designer intentions means goals plus the results of indicators to achieve expressive appropriateness ". The research found the existence of diversity in expressive goals for designers with a variety of mechanisms and realized Systems and configurable characteristics used in production. The research has aimed to find a mechanism to adapt the methodology of contemporary inputs, as they are considered factors of impact on urban identity , the city's heritage Urban (particularly residential) requirements of modernity down to consistency and balance in the structure and appearance of this urbanization. To accomplish these goals in order to solve the problem, the hypothesis has been put in the research and is represented as follows, ( The main hypothesis : - The traditional urban identity of the Iraqi city it is only the implications of several interaction of combination of factors such as : ideological, religious, cultural, political, social, and economic......, which has : innate presented by the student Rokia Basim Khaza'al durability and deep - rooted heritage). The secondary hypotheses ,they include (The secondary hypothesis (first), Contemporary input into the decisions of urban residential structure which produces the problem of alienation of the identity of the city in general and the identity of the modern urban residential specifically for the Iraqi city. But the Second hypothesis (II) , Urban residential characteristic which is in consisting with consistent balance between stability factors (features and characteristics of the cultural heritage), and change agents (of modern inputs, which include economic, sociodemographic, religious, cultural, political, legislative and technical, which showed a big difference between recent data and the presentinputs, which necessitated the emergence of new indicators that restore the correct status of our sobering heritage with new flavor.The research has approached an analytical method by dealing with fresh ideas and new theoretical concepts so as to reach a practical balance between tradition and modernity in the modern Iraqi city be, on other hand , the study has to crystalize , elaborate and translateit into practical indicators through determining the affecting variable diagnosis affecting on the likelihood of changing Iraqi urban identity in general and the structure of urban housing in particular. So the research has involved chapters, the first one is dealt with the basic concepts of identity and characteristics and the levels of all types and the determining the identity of the city reaching to , the identity of the home and find out the qualities and features of the urban where the Iraqi city received through the old housing and modern one as well as to be so close to the characteristics of each of these concepts , in order to develop and crystalize the research hypothesis, then , the research enters Chapter II beginning to define the changing and influencing input components exclusively on urban residential identity , through mentioning to the social factors - demographic, economic, and religious - cultural and political - legislative and technical, and to mention to each factor of them in general. Then the research enters Chapter III illustrating the mechanism of impact for each factor on the identity of the residential urbanization by taking aspects and details and varieties of each particular factor and how it affectson the details that can be attributed to the urban identity of theresidential city especially through the building materials , techniques, planning and handling of interfaces and finishes and sizes and masses of urban, After that , to reach the Chapter Four , the practical chapter of the research , it includes the application of the theoretical framework of indicators on a residential district within the city of Baghdad, which involves several shops.The practical study has relied on two levels, the analysis of research and study to identify through the distribution of a form on different samples by comparing different periods, in order to reach an order to compare the results between the old urban and its nature of identity with modern construction and clarify the change that happens on the housing to reflect the reality of urban civilization to create the urban identity of the Iraqi city.Finally , for the purpose of finding recent findings and reaching to by studying the theoretical and field results of the questionnaire to the most important recommendations of the research, as well as areas for future research and the beneficiaries of it. Finally , the research has reached to results represented , most notably, in the role of community with its individuals in changing by not attention to the legislation and controlling Urban, which were reflected by the excesses that caused random and in the absence of the identity of the residential urbanization.

المستخلص: Culture is defined as a world view of a nation or a group.This world view is reflected in values and styles of life and activities specific to that nation or group. Architecture, on the other hand, is considered one of the most distinctive fields for the expression of these views. Architecture, then is a manifestation of culture and at the same time a reflection of it.Generally different propositions show that culture changes because of many factors, and acculturation has emerged out of important operations which lead to cultural change as a result of contact between different societies or cultures.Since the cultural environment with its varying effects plays a major role in the formulation of architectural products, and owing to the increase in awareness all over the world in culture and cultural process such as acculturation and scarcity of architectural research on such topics at both Arab and local levels, it is felt that there is a need for a study on acculturation and architecture as a general topic for research.From a review of literature on acculturation and architecture during different historical periods, it becomes obvious that acculturation is always related to architecture and has effect on it and plays a role in formulating its styles wherever there was cultural contact between two or more cultures.It has become clear also that architectural products in Iraq were not immune to the effects of acculturation during the time period of Iraq came into contact with other cultures among which was ottoman _Turkish Culture. The research specific topic is, thus, defined by acculturation and architectural styles during the ottoman rule in Iraq.After the literature on the topic under consideration is reviewed, the research problem is defined as follows : There is need for knowledge to explore the nature, study and analyze of acculturation in architecture in general, and to specify its results at the level of house architecture style in Baghdad city during the late Ottoman rule in Iraq. The research aim is defined by : 1 - formulation of a more comprehensive framework of acculturation in such a way as to define its nature in architecture, study, and analyze it at the level of anyarchitecture especially at the house architecture style level. 2 - Formulation of an analytical, comparative and detailed system to study the results of acculturation at the house architecture style level. 3 - Identifying the results of acculturation at the house architecture style level during the late Ottoman rule in Iraq. This item covers a definite detailed aim represented by identifying the results of acculturation at the level of surface structure of the style of the elite houses architecture during the late Ottoman reign in Iraq.The research procedure is represented by the following steps : First, building a theoretical framework on acculturation in architecture based on previous architectural studies which are dealt with the concept, whether directly or indirectly, and support it by current propositions on the subject obtained from fields other than architecture. In addition the frame work is reinforced by studies on culture (the concept dimensions related to acculturation and architecture). All the previous steps should be accomplished so that the nature of acculturation in architecture in general can be further explored, and acculturation could be studied, analyzed and its results identified particularly at the level of house architecture style. Second, studying the dimensions and aspects of the concept of style in architecture and its relation with the concept of acculturation so that indicators and vocabularies of theoretical framework of acculturation in architecture are supported. No doubt, this will help the study of acculturation results at the level of house architecture style. Third, concluding the nature of acculturation in architecture, and the main indicators in its study and analysis (that is theoretical framework in its final detailed from). In addition a comparative and detailed system should be put forward to study the results of acculturation on the style of house architecture resulting from acculturation. Fourth, empirical study should be made to identify the results of acculturation on the level of style of house architecture in Baghdad during the late ottoman rule and to specify the application main requirements. Fifth, drawing and analyzing the results. Finally, drawing the final conclusions.The concluded theoretical framework has shown two fundamental points. They are the nature of acculturation in architecture and its most important indicators to study and analyze acculturation in architecture. As for the first dimension, it includes the following twoitems : definition of acculturation in architecture, and the path and stages of acculturation proses in architecture. The second dimension covers indicators to study and analyze acculturation in architecture which includes the following branch indicators : cultural indicators of contacted groups, communication indicators which lead to acculturation results, acculturation proses indicators, and acculturation results indicators. Moreover, an analyzing comparative and detailed system has been suggested, consisting of five stages to identify the results on the level of the house architectural style in its final detailed form.On the other hand, the empirical study involves the study of acculturation results at the level of the style of houses architecture of two types of elites : Iraqi origin and Turkish origin which existed in Baghdad during the late Ottoman rule in Iraq 1830 - 1917 AD. The Ottoman rule of Iraq lasted about five centuries and ended with end of First World War.After the basic application requirements are stated, the practical study and result analysis are done and a number of conclusions are drawn. The conclusions are divided into two groups. The first one deals with the theoretical part, so the research, In general, was able to reach to a theoretical formula which is more accurate, comprehensive, and obvious about the nature of acculturation in architecture so that it can be studied and analyzed better than the previous knowledge. In addition the research was able to introduce a system for analysis of architectural styles which is comparatively more comprehensive than previous analytical systems. The second group is concerned with the practical study in which the research was able in general to put forward a set of detailed conclusions, but it was generally possible to reach a summary of acculturation results resulting from the long term and comprehensive cultural contact between Iraqi and Turkish Ottoman cultures at the level of architectural style of elite houses in Baghdad during the late Ottoman rule of Iraq. These results are represented by energetic maintenance of the main characteristics of the architectural identity of the style of the elite houses architecture. However this maintenance began to decline (the start of medium sized maintenance) beginning at the end of the period studied. The superficial characteristics of the architectural identity were a field in which interaction, effect and cultural exchange of medium depth took place during the period studied.

Despite the emergence of a number of theses that tried to explain it in the field of architecture, none of them gave this concept a comprehensive definition or dealt with it in depth, hence the concept of (digital fabrication in architecture) appeared in a general framework that recognizes the concept and its beginnings in the other fields and the stages it went through to reach the field of architecture, for the purpose of reducing the limits of research to the specific frame which is summarized in(the role of digital fabrication as a link between the design process (modeling) and the realized architectural product which is represented by the fabricating of building parts, and by thorough searching of studies which took into consideration the existence of the above - mentioned three - way relationship between (designing, fabrication, and production), the research problem was derived, which states that (Lack of previous knowledge in forming a comprehensive conception describing how to achieve digital fabrication and its impact in contemporary architectural production) and thus to reachthe goal of the research (creating a comprehensive conceptual framework regarding how to achieve digital fabrication in the field of architecture and its impact in contemporary architectural production), and achieving this approach requires the construction of a theoretical framework consisting of four main units; The methods of fabricated digital design generating, Digital fabrication techniques, production strategies and to clarify its impact in contemporary architectural production, and as such is the first phase of solving the research problem. While The second phase deals with application procedures marked by the formulation of hypotheses and consisting of two main assumptions (the realization of digital fabrication depends on the integration of the levels of each of the following, the methods of fabricated digital design generation and digital fabrication techniques and production strategies) The second premise is (the adoption of Digital Fabrication with its three levels affects the contemporary architectural product positively) and then determining the basic requirements for the application by selecting the method of data gathering and the type of measurement used as well as defining the application sample marked by a range of contemporary global projects by some of the best architects who rely on digital fabrication in the production of their buildings and which are executed in the real world and belong to the same era which is the last five years and has a similar functional approach for the purpose of highlighting the formal and structural aspects.The third phase, focuses on discussing the results, analyzing them and determining the validity of the hypotheses and then defining the final conclusions which were raised in two axes, first axis focused to clarifying the effectiveness of the theoretical framework in achieving digital fabrication and its role in bridging the gap between representation and construction and its impact in the product that was achieved within the formal, structural and professional aspects, while the second axis focused on the conclusions drawn from analyzing the results of the application, which indicated the possibilities and special effects that distinguish each one. المستخلص: Since the building envelope represents the main axis for all thermal controlling processes being the insulation of internal environment from the external one, and as a responsive and adaptable with the external changes through its thermal conduct by preventing external effects.In addition, it includes all the external means that ensure comfort for occupants represented by walls, roofs, grounds, and all vents (doors and windows) whereas the external walls represent one of the most important structural elements that have a direct effect on the thermal performance of the building.In order to achieve the aim of the research the experimental approach and style of analytical study were adopted. The current study included two main aspects : first, the theoretical side : Which included the time delay factor calculation and cooling load depending on the Radiant Time Series (RTS) theory that achieve accurate and detailed results and ease of application The theoretical results for each hour were calculated using a new version of Mat lab program. While the second aspect included the practical test and measurement where three test chambers have been constructed as samples for the purpose of study located in the department of the mechanism and productivity of Al - Fao Engineering in Altajiat in Baghdad. The three chambers were constructed with dimensions (3000mm x 2250mm) and (2250mm) height without windows and the ceilings and walls were made the only effective resource in changing the level of thermal comfort inside it. The longest side of the three test chambers was directed towards the east - west. The walls of the first chambers have been made of perforated brick , the second chamber of thermo - stone, the third of double glazing units. The ceilings of rooms were treated by materials of humidity contraindications with thermal insulators are quite similar in order that the comparison would be only confined to the walls, and to identify the effect of the air cavity (100mm,25mm) when using it with the different materials of cladding such as ( white marble, black marble, stone of Ba Athra, composite - panel).Two iron structures were made in order to exchange the termination materials and the thickness of the cavity as well as each chamber has been equipped with (one ton) air conditioning with a same cooling degree for each chamber, the devices were connected by a scale to measure the amount of energy spent in each chamber with a fixed temperature inside, in addition to thermal sensors fixed on the inner and outer surface of the wall and in the inner space, consequently the energy exchange was considered as an evidence and indicator to the differentiation among the materials used and types of cavities in double walls. The theoretical and practical results made a good rapprochement, whereas the first test chamber (in which Brick is the material construction of the walls) has made a contrast ratio between the theoretical calculations and practical application for the electric power about 23.6%, while the second test chamber (in which thermo - stone is the material construction of the walls) has made a contrast ratio for the electric power about 22.3%. Consequently, Results of the study showed that the Exterior cladding material by using perforated brick of 120 mm thickness recorded the highest proportion of the economy in the amount of electric energy which considered to be the best thermally. However, Exterior cladding material (such as black Marble) and cladding materials with fewer block (such as composite - panel) represent the worst thermal performance because they made the lowest economic proportion of the amount of electric power. Besides, the thermo - stone material as a material of walls constructing has made an economic ratio of electric energy higher than the one made by the 240mm thickness perforated brick. The research, As well as, concluded that increasing the thickness of cavities from 25mm to 100mm may reduce the consumed amount of electric power about 6.6% when the construction material for the walls is 240 mm thickness perforated brick and 4.3% when the construction material for walls is thermo - stone.

المستخلص: يوجه البحث لغرض تطوير نتاج العمارة من خلال التكنولوجيا الرقمية تبعا للتطور التكنولوجي الحاصل في التوجه المعماري العالمي والانتفاع من التكنولوجيا الرقمية في التصميم المعماري والانشائي واستراتيجيات التصميم والانشاء كوسيلة لغرض تحقيق نتاجات معمارية مميزة | The Following Research constrains on the purpose of developing the architectural projects by the use of developed technology now a day, in the contemporary trends of architecture through the technology ,and the use of the digital technology and its effect on the design process and the fabrication strategies to achieve special types of Architectural projects, through the form , in the consideration of those technologies and strategies are important components to reach this specialty of the Architectural trends, and by studying an international ironic architectural masterpieces, in the time of considering the difficulties of using the ordinary fabrication process , it becomes an advantage of reaching the creativity in designing a form , function , structure , Ecological ,and biological creativity through those strategies and technologies.Now a day , the computer becomes a primary need of the life today , and that is reflected on the contemporary trends of Architecture through the different design process's stages and construction phases , and that reflects the massive change through those two processes , and by creating a new vision of Architectural design , and those technologies created a new methods of the design creativity , throw the software's and programs , that helps and effects on the form and the functions generally , Structures especially , and those softwares helps the designers to reach the final decision of nearest solution to the perfect.The research contains a study of the design methods by normal and digital design process and makes a discussion of the comparison to the two methods , and the main issue of the research is consisted potentially in the lack of knowledge parameters and the lack of what had been presented in the study of the digital Architectural and the systems of computers attends as a design and control tool on the design process , in the consideration of its massive abilities, instead of being a drawing and presentation tool only.the research constrains on the way to reach an new types of properties that had been added, which are more efficiency and more specified properties, comparing of what had been introduced in the latest studies , such GAO studies, which added new concepts on the design process, and those properties will be considered as the impact of the digital technology on the contemporary trends of architecture , and the reaches also targets the parameters, tools and the strategies that helps the designer to recreate a vision of the design and fabrication process through the digital technology.the research finds a relationship between the digital technology and its impact on the contemporary trends of Architecture, and puts new tools to develop this relationship , through the hypothesis of existence of impacts and effects that are lied on the trends of architect through the main time by using the latest digital technology, which is represented by using the Information technologies and computers , as a main way of impacts.and the research tests the results of that impact, and its levels which is being held by the digital technology, and the research reaches the phase of testing the levels of the introduction of the Architects on the projects designs and the way of developing those interacts of the architects on those properties.The research reaches the final phase of conclusions to make use of the digital technologies, to develop the architectural projects to a high level of creativity and ironically designs , through the design process according to the development of the digital technology and fabrication technology between the ordinary design process and the digital design process. المستخلص: تعد محطات النقل النواة المركزية لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة في المجتمع، من خلال القدرة على ربط وسائل النقل المختلفة في مكان واحد، وخلق حالة من التفاعل الايجابي بين الركاب وفضاءات المحطة، كما تعد المحطة عنص ا ر هاما في تشكيل هوية المدينة من خلال اعادة صياغة | Transportations stations considered as the core of achieving the sustainable development in the society, through linking different transportations means and facilities in one place, and creating positive interaction between the passengers and the station spaces, the station is also considered as an important element in shaping the city identity through re - formulating the urban context that surrounding it, and determining the uses of the nearby lands, in addition to its contribution in organizing the traffic of transportations means within the city and outside it, all of that is resulted by the integration with different transportation network that connected to, therefore most of the world countries witnessed increasing attention in passengers’ transportations stations in general recently, that has been obvious within modern transportation approaches, inwhich known as sustainable transportation, these approaches applied the sustainability aspects within the transportation system in general and within passengers’ transportations stations in particular, most of the world countries worked on passengers’ stations development in a way to encouraging passengers using public transportations means and giving up private means, moving from the classical functioning approach to a sustainable approach in planning, designing and operation land - transportation stations.In general local land - transportation stations suffering neglecting and transportations technology evolution outdated, in addition to absence of social, economic and health stations’ special requirements for both operators and passengers. That shows the importance of comprehensive perspective on how to build sustainable local transportation stations and determining their planning, designing and structural requirements, accordingly many studies that included either mainly or implicitly sustainability perspective were submitted, presenting the most important world experiments that had effected positively the life quality in societies in which served, nevertheless those studies and previous experiments seemed selective and collective which refer to lack of comprehensive solutions specially in planning, designing and structural aspects, furthermore the local experiments limited on developing the transportation station in to modern ones which take sustainability aspects in consideration without adopting and applying thoseaspects in active & clear way.Based on that the thesis’ topic has been identified as” Lack of previous knowledge in forming comprehensive theoretical perspective that explains patterns of planning,design and details for sustainable passengers' land - transportation station in general, and sustainability reflection in applying them locally in particular”. المستخلص: الاسكان احد مرتكزات السياسة التنموية لاي بلد، ويمثل راس المال الثابت في اقتصاده. وبسبب العلاقة المتداخلة للاسكان كقطاع تنموي وخدمي في ان واحد،تظهر اهمية تنفيذ السياسات الاسكانية الوطنية الكفيلة بتفعيله على نحو يمكنه من التوصل الى تلبية الحاجة السكنية | Housing is one of the pillars of Development Policy for any country, and represents fixed capital in the economy.Because of the interrelationship of Housing as a development and a service sector at the same time, the importance of the implementation of national housing policies is demonstrated in a way that enabled to meet housing need within a specified period of time on one hand, and ensure the sustainability of the housing sector activity and productivity and its contribution to the economy and national development on the other.Chapter I introduced a number of related Housing studies(Planning,Housing,Economical,Social and ‏‏Legal), which revealed a knowledge problem : there is an interference related to housing concepts (housing and non - housing) and the absence of some of them, which led to lack of clarity of the appropriate characteristics of the environment for the implementation of National Housing Policies.These studies filtered a research problem : the lack of concepts clarity that allow the implementation of National Housing Policy, and its relationship with the social, economic , political and Housing contexts of the country.As the search looks at the National Housing Policies as an integrated system based on three foundations : Housing, Economic and Social, it developed a hypothesis that : the implementation of the National Housing Policies is based primarily on non - Housing rather than Housing concepts.The importance of research lies in that it presented a vision of Housing concepts (such as Housing Standards, Housing Patterns, Housing Tenure, Methods of Housing Provision) and other non - housing (the role of the state in the economy, and the development of the tripartite relationship of individuals - - society and the State), that underlies the implementation of National Housing Policies, and reflects the whole social, economic, and political contexts ,and allows the implementation of these policies.Chapter II focused on a number of Housing concepts (Housing Standards, Standard Policies, Housing Patterns and drawing Housing Indicators and elements that affects the selection of the dwelling. It distinguished between the Quantitative and Qualitative Deficit concepts, and their relationship to the concept of Affordability and Affordable Housing, and looks at the concepts of income, consumption, house price, Housing Stock and Housing Tenure from angles with deeper intellectual and philosophical dimensions, under a number of economic and social variables. Housing Provision Methods analysis (Supply and Empowerment) reveals unforeseen overlapping and strong relationships that affect the implementation of the National Housing Policy.Chapter III introduces economic concepts, where Housing is governed by the nature of the state role in the economy, at the level of intervention and coordination, the importance of the state institutions power compared by its functions.In a comparative context, the role of the state in the Islamic Economy, its involvement and its relationship with the individuals economic freedom are parallel, complementary and restricting. It appears that this intervention, as it has a legitimate back support, and other philosophical - political one, it explores lost dimensions of the state. On the other hand, the diversity of economies (Economies in transition, Token, and Market Economies), is reflected on the characteristics of the Housing Market in the Market Economy Policy. These characteristics are evident in comparison between the role of the state in a Centralized Economy and the Market Economy. It is no secret that the Development and its forms (political, economic, social and cultural), its concept in the thought of Islam, the way it is managed, and even the Myth of Development (as an opposite concept) have an obvious effect, along with the concepts of trust ,well - being and prosperity, and the role of Islamic State in the well - being.Accordingly, Economic Policies in Iraq could be understood ,with their former , current, and future approaches, and the National Development Plan in Iraq.Chapter IV deals with Social Concepts, that are almost the same in most societies (individual, family, society, principles, values and ethics), but the characteristics and relationships between these concepts vary from one community to another, and one environment to another. Research, as a general framework, deals with the concept of Sociology of Housing, as affected by the Transitional Stages, their relationship to Revolutions and their impact on society. The concept of Social - wise Capital, the tripartite relationship individuals - society - the state, the relationship of individuals with the state, Care Ethics, Trust and Social Mobility, together with the traditional social concepts such as standard of living , family size, on one hand, and is unforeseen, linked to the planning and implementation of Housing Policies.Chapter V deals, in a brief and intensively, Housing Policies Structure in general. And it presents some concepts that have been associated with these policies. In acomparative context, it deals with Housing Policy in Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.Chapter VI, the research analyzes a number of studies and policies that are seen as key stations in the legacy of Housing Planning in Iraq, and compares National Housing Initiative in 2013, and the National Housing Policy 2010 - 2016, to reach a number of general and detailed conclusions and recommendations.

المستخلص: الزيولايت النانوي - المتبلور بنوعين تم تصنيعهما ووصف خصائصيهما، النوع الاول يحتوي على ويحتوي على ZSM - 5/MCM - والاخر من نوع المركب 41 ZSM - مسام مايكروية ويسمى 5 05 نانومتر(. - نوعين من المسام ,المايكروية )اقل من 2 نانو متر( ومسام متوسطة ) 2 اجريت عم | Nanocrystalline ZSM - 5 zeolite and micro - mesoporous ZSM - 5/MCM - 41 composite zeolite were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment - conventional method. For ZSM - 5 two compositions were under investigation with different silica to alumina ratio of 86 and 68. Study of principal variables affecting the characterisics of synthesized zeolites were investigated in both aspects concerning chemical and process variables. Micro - mesoporous ZSM - 5/MCM - 41 composite zeolite were synthesized using alkaline treatment method and two step crystallization.Loading of synthesized zeolites with transition metals copper, cobalt, and ceria were conducted by impregnation.All zeolites products were characterized by X - ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier Transform infrared (FTIR), Brunauer - Emmet - Teller (N2 adsorption - desorption isotherm), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X - ray fluorescence (XRF), and Thermogravemetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry (TGA/DSC).XRD - patterns for ZSM - 5 showed, at different temperature ranging from (150 - 180 oC) and time of crystallization from 48 - 96h, that ZSM - 5 phase is the only obtained in almost all samples and the peaks at angle 2?= 7 ? 9o and 2?= 22.5 - 24.4o are typical. XRD - patterns for ZSM - 5/MCM - 41 identified by the 3 peaks in 2? < 10o and still having the peaks of ZSM - 5.AFM reports for both zeolites, ZSM - 5 and ZSM - 5/MCM - 41 indicated that a nano - level size of about 50 nm has been got. FTIR results showed that for ZSM - 5, the peaks near bands 3400, 1080, 800, 550, 450 cm - 1 have been clearly obtained. For ZSM - 5/MCM - 41 showedthe shifting of band at 1100 cm - 1 accompanied with a decrease of intensity in bands near 440 - 450 cm - 1.BET surface area results for ZSM - 5 samples showed a value of 320 - 380 m2/g and pore volume of 0.2 cm3/g. BET surface area for ZSM - 5/MCM - 41 showed an average value of 612 m2/g and pore volume of 0.5421 cm3/g.TEM images revealed that the loading of transition metals of copper and cobalt on both types of zeolite catalysts are distributed well on the surface of zeolite and on nano - level size.Biodiesel production, using prepared catalysts were conducted by esterification and transesterification by oleic acid and sunflower oil respectively with ethanol and methanol.Batch heterogeneous esterification process gave medium conversion of 69%. Semi - batch heterogeneous esterification gave better conversion of about 85%. The effect of both catalysts (Cu - ZSM - 5 and Co - Cu - ZSM - 5/MCM - 41) were similar and gave increase in conversion between 11 - 13%.Transesterification heterogeneous batch process using base - catalyzed (Ce - Na - ZSM - 5) and acid catalyzed heterogeneous transesterification (HZSM - 5), using sunflower oil and methanol showed a yield of 26% and 33% respectively relative to oil.

المستخلص: يستخدم اوكسيد الخارصين (ZnO) لكشف الاشعة فوق البنفسجية وذلك لكبر فجوة الطاقة وكبر طاقة اثارة الربط لهذا الشبه موصل. اوكسيد الخارصين كذلك يمتلك سرعة اشباع عالية وفولتية انهيار عالية. في هذا العمل تم تصنيع متحسس اشعة فوق بنفسجية نوع (معدن - شبه موصل - معدن) با | Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has been commonly used for ultraviolet detection due to large band gap and excition binding energy. ZnO has high breakdown electrical field, also has a much larger saturation velocity. In this work three ultraviolet Metal Semiconductor Metal (MSM) photodetectors were fabricated, based on ZnO and Silver (Ag) doped Zinc Oxide (SZO) with (2% and 4 % doping ratios) thin films. The technique used to prepare the thin films was sol - gel and spin coating technique by using Si (100) p - type. Silver interdigitated (IDT) electrodes were deposited on the films by a vacuum coating deposition technique to form the three devices.The electrical properties for the fabricated photodetectors (PDs) were studied using Semiconductor Characterization System (SCS) at room temperature ( 27 C^o). The applied voltage was in the range of ( - 5 to 5) V.The SEM images showed a non - uniform distribution of the Ag dopants, these dopants formed clusters and these clusters increased as the amount of Ag dopants increased. The mobility, carrier concentration, and roughness for the SZO films increased when compared to undoped film. The optical bandgap and the transmittance are decreased when the doping ratio is increased. The saturation current (I - S) was decreased by a factor of 4, and 12 for the devices based on Ag doped ZnO (with 2% and 4 % doping ratios) thin films, respectively. The sensitivity was significantly increased with increasing the doping ratio. This enhancement attributed to the roughness of the Ag dopants (clusters). The detectivity was increased for the devices based on SZO films. The high detectivity with low saturation current made the devices based on SZO films suitable for optoelectronic applications and integrated circuits. From the experimental data and analysis, it was found that the PD with ZnO : Ag 4 % doping ratio has higher responsivity and gain of 0.523 A/W and 257 , respectively. This is confirmed by thin film and device characterization which makes this PD suitable for UV detection purposes.

المستخلص: ظهر في السنوات الاخيرة اهتمام ملحوظ في استخدام متحسسات تركيز الهيدروجين (الرقم الهيدروجيني) من نوع ترانزستور تاثير المجال (FET) في التطبيقات الطبية الحيوية مثل دم الانسان, اليوريا واللعاب لان عملية تصنيع متحسسات تركيز الهيدروجين تتجه نحو التكلفة المنخفضة | In recent years, there is noteworthy interest in using pH - sensors based on Field Effect Transistor (FET) in biomedical applications such as human blood, urine, and saliva because the fabrication of pH - sensors is tending toward low cost, small size, disposable, and real - time measurement. In this work, Extended Gate Field - Effect Transistor (EGFET) pHsensors were built using thin films of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) doped with Palladium (Pd) as sensing membranes. The Pd - doped ZnO thin films with different molar concentrations (Pd = 0%, 2% and 4%) were deposited onto p - type Si(111) substrate by sol - gel method. The surface morphology of the prepared films was imaged and studied by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The crystal structure of the fabricated films was examined by X - Ray Diffraction (XRD) test. The optical and electrical characteristics of the films were measured using spectrophotometer and Hall - Effect measurement device, respectively.The EGFET pH - sensor has been prepared by linking the fabricated sensing devices to the gate terminal of a commercial Metal - Oxide - Semiconductor Field - Effect Transistor (MOSFET CD4007UB).The fabricated sensing devices were immersed in buffer solutions with pH range of (pH 3 ? pH 11). The pH sensing characteristics of ZnO and Pd - ZnO/silicon EGFET devices were studied using Semiconductor Characterization System (SCS - Keithley 4200).The ZnO EGFET sensor exhibits voltage sensitivity and linearity of 31.5 mV/pH and 0.9809 (or 98.1%) in linear regime with pH range of (pH 3 - pH 11). The voltage sensitivity and linearity of Pd - doped ZnO (with 4% molar concentration of Pd) EGFET device in the linear regime with pH range of (pH 5 - pH 11) are 27.86 mV/pH and 0.9785 (or 97.85%), respectively. The experimental results show that the Pd - doped sensing films by sol - gel method cannot be adopted for whole pH range. This means that the doped films have fewer amounts of H+ ions sensing sites at its surface than undoped ZnO fims.

المستخلص: There has been a quick development in the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) field that promises to revolutionize the way people lives. Where they have a wide range of applications especially in the monitoring applications like power consumption, military, and healthcare. This thesis has three objectives. First, to design and implement a prototype of WSN for monitoring power (as well as temperature) in buildings. Second, to investigate the bounds of coverage in different building construction materials. Third, to evaluate the amount of improvement introduced to the ZigBee transceiver when channel - coding methods are used.The basic design elements of the implemented power and temperature monitoring system includes current sensors, temperature sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless transceivers implemented using Global System for Mobile Communications/General Packet Radio Service (GSM/GPRS) platform and ZigBee technology. The use of GSM/GPRS platform allows the user to control or gather information about the system from anywhere just by sending a request using Short Message Service (SMS). In addition, the measured data can be visualized through a user friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI). Many measurements have been done to find the exact limitation of the designed system in terms of coverage and signal strength in the presence of objects of different materials including; cardboard, metal, concrete bricks, wood and corkboard. Furthermore, the MATLAB Simulink model of the proposed ZigBee transceiver uses Convolutional Coding (CC) at different code rates to improve the performance in AWGN channel, Rayleigh and Rician multipath fading channels.The results indicated that the use of ZigBee based WSN in electric power monitoring provides flexibility and helps in reducing power consumption. In addition, the experimental results show that the construction materials of buildings have varying impact on the network performance. At 4m distancebetween the base station and the sensing node, the losses in signal strength are 15, 20, 21 and 32 dBm when using metal as compared with cardboard, corkboard, wood and concrete bricks respectively.It is observed from the simulation results that using convolutional coding in ZigBee transceiver gives better performance than the traditional ZigBee transceivers and that the convolutional code of code rate 1/8 gives the best performance compared to other CC. In AWGN channel and at BER of 10 - 4, the maximum performance improvements in terms of BER obtained over traditional system are 14dB and 13.5dB for OQPSK and BPSK (868 - 900MHz) based ZigBee respectively. While these improvements are 23.5dB, 40.5dB and 19.5dB, 12.5dB in Rayleigh & Rician channels at the same BER respectively.

المستخلص: During the last decades the development in digital image acquisition, capturing, processing and displaying devices is one of the fastest growing fields. Most of these devices introduce some amount of geometric lens deformation and cause uncorrected dimensions in displaying the objects, such as cameras, scanners, lenses, and mirrors.This work introduces a general algorithm use to correct the images deformed by a fixed and known properties sources. A simple prototype system consists of convex mirror and digital camera has been constructed to capture the required reflected scene. The proposed algorithm considers three main processes; correction, filtering, and edge enhancement. The idea of the proposed correction method is based on selecting an original image, capturing its reflected view from the convex mirror, and then obtaining the deformed ratios for each row and column between the captured image and the original image. These ratios represent the raw components to what referred here as the deformation - map. This map is considered as a general pattern for the proposed prototype system, to be used later in correcting the deformed images.The correction process depends mainly on stretching - padding - cropping. In the first operation, each row and column is stretched to a length depends on the corresponding compression ratio's element in the deformation - map. The second operation modifies the size of the image by adding pad array to the end sides, while the third operation crops the image to the required size.The Filtering, and edge enhancement processes are based on using fuzzy median filter to deblur and smooth the corrected images, while fuzzy edge detection is used to enhance the edges of corrected images.The deformation - map has been examined on correcting several deformed images. The results show high capability of considering this map as a general correction model for the images captured by the proposed system.

المستخلص: The most important type of MIMO is the Spatial Multiplexing (SM) which is used to increase the data rate depending on the number of transmitted and received antennas. The main challenge of SM is high Bit Error Rate (BER) at low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), which leads to increase the power expended, and this not match the modern requirements of communication system.In this thesis, the performance of MIMO system for Space Time Block Code (STBC) and SM has been investigated. As expected the STBC increase the reliability of data rate while SM increase the data rate with significant BER. Three types of detection have been experimented with SM; Maximum Likelihood (ML), Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) and Zero Forcing (ZF). The results show that ML is outperform each MMSE and ZF, but as it is known the complexity of ML increase exponentially with number of antennas and modulation order. ZF is simple one, but it has poor performance.The proposed system is to add channel code serially with SM and maintain the low complexity. The experiments are begun with Convolution Code (CC) to support SM performance. The results show that significant improvement is achieved using this code with ZF detection, it can be getting more than 10 dB of SNR as code gain. But the payment is the redundancy information which can be reduced by using puncturing technique. Also the complexity of Viterbi decoder grows exponentially with large constraint length. The second code is a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code which is proposed with suitable parameters to reduce the required iterations in order to achieve real time application for such system. The results confirm that the proposedscheme is outperform the CC by 3 dB of SNR in addition to acceptable complexity and less number of iterations

المستخلص: مع زيادة التطور الكبير الذي يحصل في علم الاتصالات ومع وجود قناة عامة (public channel) تنتقل من خلالها المعلومات زادت المشاكل التي تخص القناة وبالخصوص مشكلتين رئيسيتين هما انتهاك الخصوصية ووجود الضوضاء. بخصوص امنية الاتصال : بما ان القناة عامة وبامكان اي م | With the significant development in communication systems especially with the public channel through which information travels, there are increasing in the channels problems. Among these problems, the two important should be addressed are the information security and the noise. In this thesis, an efficient communication system with high security and high immunity against noise has been proposed. From security perspective, the proposed scheme uses two levels of encryption based on chaotic systems. The first level is chaotic scrambling, while the second level is chaotic masking. Two levels of chaos based encryption make information very secure during their transition in the channel because the key space becomes too large. The simulation results show that the Segmental Spectral Signal to Noise Ratio (SSSNR) of the first level (chaotic scrambling) is reduced by - 5.195 dB in comparison with time domain scrambling. In the second level (chaotic masking), the SSSNR is reduced by - 20.679 dB. It is also show that when the two levels are combined, the overall reduction obtained is - 21.755 dB.Concerning the immunity against noise, the proposed system offers three methods to reduce the effect of noise. The first method is based on sending each scrambled sample more than once. The simulation results showed that gain of this method is 10 dB if we send each voice sample 8 times over the classical method without repetition. The second method relies on the conversion of information from analog to digital format before doing the masking. The simulation results of this method show that the mean square error (MSE) is reduced and this reduction increases as signal to noise ratio (SNR) increase. For instance when SNR=10 dB, the MSE is reduced from ?10?^( - 1) to 2*?10?^( - 2) while it reduced from ?10?^( - 2) to 3*?10?^( - 6) when SNR=22 dB. The third method is increasing the power of the information signal relative to chaotic signal. The simulation results show that when the power is duplicated and at SNR = 24 dB, the MSE is reduced from 3*?10?^( - 3) to 0.5*?10?^( - 4) and to 3*?10?^( - 5) when the signal power is tripled.

المستخلص: في السنوات الاخيرة، كان هناك اهتمام متزايد في اشباه موصلات اوكسيد الخارصين للتطبيقات الضوئية ضمن منطقة الاطوال الموجية الفوق البنفسجية وذلك لكون طاقة اثارة الربط كبيرة (60 meV) وطاقة الفجوة الواسعة (3.37 eV) في درجة حرارة الغرفة. في هذا العمل, ثلاث متحسس | In recent years, there has been increasing interest in Zinc Oxide (ZnO) semiconductors for optoelectronic applications in the Ultraviolet (UV) region due to its large exciton binding energy (60 meV) and wide bandgap energy (3.37 eV). In this work, three devices of Metal Semiconductor Metal (MSM) UV photodetectors (PDs) and photoconductors (PCDs) based on ZnO were fabricated in the form of Interdigitated (IDT) MSM structures. The ZnO thin films were prepared by sol - gel spin coating technique, and deposited on a P - type Si and glass substrates. The Nickel (Ni) and Aluminum (Al) contacts were deposited by a vacuum coating deposition technique. The morphological, structural and electrical properties of the ZnO thin films were estimated by using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X - Ray diffraction (XRD), four - point probe and Hall effect measurements. Optical bandgap of ZnO film was evaluated using a double beam spectrophotometer. With applied voltage in the range ( - 5 to 5 V), the photocurrent, contrast ratio, gain, responsivity, detectivity, and Noise Equivalent Power (NEP) were estimated. The Photodetectors were illuminated with UV of 254 nm at room temperature (27 °C) and under different levels of optical power ranging between (163.2 ?w ? 172.3?w). Current Voltage (I - V) characteristics were studied and the values of the saturation current (I - s), ideality factor (n), barrier height (? - B), reach - through voltage (VRT) and flat - band voltage (VFB) were extracted under dark condition. Data analysis and curves were plotted using origin software (graphing and data analysis). The AFM and SEM images clearly demonstrate the formation of well - aligned ZnO, with smooth nanometer granular structure, dense and a good morphology. The grain size and average roughness (rms) values were found to be (59 nm, 12 nm) on Si substrate and (31 nm, 2 nm) on glass substrate, respectively.For Ni/ZnO/Ni MSM PD on Si substrate, the device has VRT of (0.56 V) and VFB of (1.5 V). The responsivity and detectivity were estimated to be (1.334 A/W and 3×1011cmHz 1/2 W - 1), respectively. I - s was found to be (8.3×10 - 7 A), n (4.4) and ? - B (0.67 eV). However for Al/ZnO/Al MSM PCDs on Si and on glass substrates, the responsivity and detectivity were (0.45 A/W and 1.2×1011 cmHz 1/2W1) and (0.94 A/W and 2.9×1011 cmHz 1/2 W - 1), respectively.The I - V measurement results obtained indicate that, the Ni/ZnO/Ni MSM PD on Si substrate behaves as a typical Schottky contact and the dominant current transport mechanism is field thermionic emission. However semi linear behavior for Al/ZnO/Al PCD on Si substrate and the current flowing through the junction was following thermionic emission mechanism, while a symmetric I - V behaviors and an excellent linear relationship between the current and applied voltage are observed in both direction for Al/ZnO/Al MSM PCD on glass substrate. The estimated responsivities, detectivities with fairly low dark currents make the diodes attractive for practical UV detector applications

المستخلص: في هذه الدراسة, تم تصميم منظومتين من CPM وتم تقييم ادائهما في مختلف قنوات الاتصال. اولا, تم اقتراح تقنية فعالة لتخمين القيمة الابتدائية للاشارة الفوضوية في منظومة تضمين القيمة الابتدائية المسماة M - ary ICM. هذه التقنية سميت ب MACE. هذه التقنية قللت من تع | In this study, two Chaotic Parameter Modulation(CPM) schemes are designed and their performance in different communication channels has been evaluated. Firstly, an efficient technique for initial condition estimation of chaotic signal in M - ary Initial Condition Modulation (ICM) scheme is proposed. This technique has been called Maximum Auto Correlation Estimation (MACE). It reduces the complexity of the demodulator; thereby, it minimizes the hardware implementation cost. Simulation results confirm that, the proposed technique outperforms the conventional technique used in direct sequence spread spectrum quadrature amplitude modulation (DSSS - QAM) system in AWGN channel when high modulation level (M) is used. At BER=10 - 3, 16, 256 ary DSSS - QAM achieve gains in Eb/N0 of about 7dB and 0.8dB in comparison with 16, 256 - ary ICM respectively because the modulation level is low. While 1024, 4096 and 16384 - ary ICM achieve gains in Eb/N0 of about 6dB, 10dB and16.5dB in comparison with 1024, 4096 and 16384 ary DSSS - QAM respectively because the modulation level is high. Furthermore, a modified version of ICM that uses BPSK modulation and one chaotic signals source together with MACE technique is proposed to reduce the implementation cost named as BPSK - ICM scheme. Simulation results confirm that, BPSK - ICM has a comparable BER performance to the DS - SS system in AWGN channel.Secondly, the bifurcation parameter of a chaotic signal has been estimated accurately by utilizing the ergodic properties of a chaotic dynamical signal. In BPSK ergodic chaotic parameter modulation (BPSK - ECPM) scheme, the information signal modulates the bifurcating parameter of the chaotic signal. A mean value estimation technique is used at the receiver to retrieve the original information accurately. This method minimizes the computational complexity of the receiver; thereby, reduces the total implementation cost.Simulation results show that, at BER=10 - 3, BPSK - ECPM scheme achieves gains in Eb/N0 of about 1dB, 1.5dB, 5.2dB, 6.5dB, 9dB, 10 dB and 11 dB, as compared with CSS, CC,FM - DCSK, DCSK,CSK,COOK and QCSK schemes respectively in AWGN channel. While in Rayleigh fading channel, at BER=10 - 3, BPSK - ECPM achieve gains in Eb/N0 of about 4.8dB, 5.8dB, 6.5dB and 11.8dB, as compared with FM - DCSK,CSS,CC and DCSK schemes respectively. Furthermore, BPSK - ECPM scheme outperforms conventional chaotic modulation systems in the presence of synchronization error and high data rate problems. Finally, BPSK - ECPM scheme shows a good recovery performance of image signal in multipath fading channel for intelligent transportation system (ITS).

Smart antenna systems can solve the problem of mobile communication system such as co - channel interference , delay spread and multipath by an advance signal processing technology called beamforming. In this work artificial neural networks (Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) and feedback Elman Recurrent Neural Network (ERNN) ) are used for smart antenna adaptive beamforming for one and multiple targets.Neural network is used to calculate the optimum weights of antenna array to adapt the radiation pattern of the antenna array by directing multiple narrow beams toward the desired users and nulling interference or unwanted users. FFNN and ERNN are trained by supervised backpropagation learning algorithms, FFNN was trained by using Levenberg - Marquardt (lm),Resilient Back - Propagation (Rprop), Gradient descent with momentum and adaptive learning rate (gdx), Gradient descent and adaptive learning rate (gda) and biasing regulation(br), while lm and Rprop are used to train ERNN..The simulation results show that the best performance of smart antenna adaptive beamforming for one and multiple targets is obtained when the NN (FFNN and ERNN) trained by lm algorithm as compared with other algorithms, since it consider the fastest supervised training algorithm but with more memory requirement. Where the performance of FFNN training phase based (lm) algorithm for single target for five element uniform linear array antenna is [2.746641e - 14] at epoch 27 with best validation performance and best test performance approximately equal to the best training performance. While The performance of ERNN training phase based lm algorithm for single target is [1.121938e - 14] at epoch 38 with best validation performance equal to [1.682442e - 14] and the best test performance is [3.363946e - 14].The neural network model in adaptive beamforming are compared with smart antenna adaptive beamforming based on Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm, and gave better performance than LMS.

A single phase fault with the earthing in the distribution networks causes electrical arc as well as high voltage than the two phases together which increase the danger of separation and isolation in networks. Consequently, this case can be controlled through Peterson Coil which turns off or reduces the electrical arc that makes the network safer. This work has using technique to detect the earth fault in the single - phase by distinguishing between the higher and the lower values of the currents. Also, this technique is used to detect the capacity of earthing network lines and the possibility to adapt the capacitor for inductance in order to detect the electrical arc during faults and to detect the earth leakage.Moreover, we have used many methods to control Peterson coils such as using PID Controller , Fuzzy Logic Controller, Hybrid control PID and Fuzzy System and Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference system, to determine the earth fault current at values equal to the current in the two sound phases. To getting best results for the fault current through conducting lab experiences by using DC Servo motor and Arduino. And the fault current is converted from the rated current, thus thousands of tons of copper cost are save. They were used to carry this high voltage. Finally, the first practical part (Simulink) was implemented through Mat lab (R2011a) and (R2013a) , On the other hand, the second practical part was in the lab, where servo motors Where used, variable and non - variable inductance , the drive to isolate the control loop from the power, PID and PWM, have also used the Arduino system to program the overdrive.
