Abstract: The present study include the preparation of poly (O - Toluidine), by the chemical polymerization, then doped with HCl, and P - toluene sulphonic acid. The polymer solution deposited on glass, interdigitated finger electrode, and silicon wafer by the use of spin coating technique, in order to study electrical and optical properties as well as electronic applications in the fabrication of solar cells. The prepared samples were treated thermally before the measurement took place. Addition, a study was made of the effect of dyes on solar cells, (RhB, Flu, CuPc, and PbPc ) deposited on poly(O - Toluidine) and doped by p - toluene sulphonic acid (POT - PTSA). The thickness of the samples is measured by the use of Ellipsometry spectroscopy. The polymer thin films prepared were analysized by the use of (FT - IR) and Raman spectroscopes to determine the functional groups of the chemical bonds. To identify the nature, the structure of the surfaces of the prepared samples and to measured the partial size of the grain Atomic force Microscopy AFM insistent were used. The optical properties of the thin films prepared were studied including recording the absorption spectroscopy for wavelengths of (300 - 900 nm). The absorption coefficient and the forbidden energy gap to transmission directly were measured as well as the refraction index (n), extinction coefficient (k), dielectric constant ε, as well as, the optical constant represented by single oscillator energy (Eo), dispersion energy (Ed), moment of dielectric constant (M - 1, M - 1 3), non linear optical susceptibility (χ3) were determined. The electric conductivity was studied and it was found that the thin films correlate with the ohmic behaviour at the measured volts range (1 - 100V) for the polymers (POT, POT - HCl, POT - PTSA, and POMA). The effect of the temperature on the electric properties of these thin films is also studied. The study shows that the electric conductivity increases with the increase of temperature, where all the samples were found to show a negative thermal coefficient of resistance which is a characteristics of semi - conductive material. The effect of doping with HCl and p - toluene solphonic acid on electric conductivity was studied and found to increase to (2.46x10 - 5 S.cm - 1) while the conductivity of the polymer doping with HCl increases to (7.59x10 - 6 S.cm - 1) compared to the pure polymer (1.49x10 - 7 S.cm - 1). This study shows that the activation energy in the pure polymer is (0.313eV) and decreases when the polymer was doped with PTSA, HCl to (0.211 eV) and (0.235 eV) respectively. For the electronic application of prepared polymers (POT, POT - HCl, POT - PTSA, and POMA) a solar cells were constricted by using n - type silicon wafers and different electrode from gold and aluminium. The optical properties of the solar cell under the effect of the light equivalent to that of the sun and which falls vertically on the sample were studied ; it is practically found that, the highest efficiency obtained is (2.55 %) for the polymer (POTPTSA). The effect of thickness on the solar cell efficiency is also studied where it is found that the highest efficiency is about (2.55%) at thickness (35 nm). The electric properties of the solar cell were studied at different intensity (10,25, 50, 100) mW/cm2 and the efficiency reaches its maximum (4.88) when the intensity of the incident light is equal to 10 mW/cm2. It is observed practically that the efficiency of all cells decreases when dyes are added to the polymer (POT - PTSA). The exposure of the solar cell of the polymer (POTPTSA) to normal weather conditions was tudied for more than two monthswhere it is observed that the cell efficiency falls from 2.55 to 1.18 after two weeks of exposure. Then it reached constant value of 0.88 for two months of time exposure

Abstract: The study was conducted in Plant physiology laboratory, department of biology, college of education for pure sciences, University of Basrah from 1/6/2015 till 10/7/2016 in order to evaluate the effect ofpretreatment (soaking) seeds of corn (Zea mays L.) cv. Baghdad 3with salicylic acid (SA) on germination, early seedlings growth and to minimize the effect of water stress induced with poly ethylene glycol (PEG). The study included the following experiments : 1 - Effect of SA and PEG on germination using a hydroponic culture and Hoagland solution in which corn seeds were soaked in three concentrations (0.1,0.3,0.5) mMof SA in addition to control treatment with distilled water for six hours. Water stress were induced with PEG at concentrations of 0 (distilled water),1%,2%,3%,6%,9% and 12%. This experiment indicated that the optimum soaking concentration with SA was 0.5 mM and that there was no germination at 12% PEG.2 - Effect of interaction between corn seeds pretreatment with DW, 0.5mM of SA for six hoursand PEG at all previous concentrations except 12%, on early corn seedlings growth using hydroponic culture and Hoagland nutrient solution, for three weeks.3 - Effect of interaction betweencorn seeds pretreatment with DW, 0.5 mM of SA for six hoursand water stress induced with PEG at 3% and 6% on vegetative growth using pots filled with a mixture of sand and peat moss for three months. The parameters were evaluated after each of the previous experiments, also , Biochemical test . Plant height, leaves number, root length and number, dry and fresh weight for shoot and roots, while the followingparameters were evaluated in corn leaves after pots experiment : 1 - Biochemical tests included : proline and glycine betain concentrations, total carbohydrates, total chlorophyll, sodium and potassium ions concentrations.2 - Leaves anatomical study to compare the effect of PEG inducedwater stress and the role of its interaction with pretreatment with SA on thegrowth and development of internal structure of corn leaves. The following results were estimated : 1 - Germination percentage : increasing water stress in the nutrient media reduced the % germination significantly when compared with control treatment. Seeds pretreatment with SA enhanced the germination percent and the highest percent was at interaction between PEG at 1%, 2% and SA at 0.5 mM.2 - Growth parameters for seedling at hydroponic culture indicated that plant height, fresh and dry weight for shoot and roots have increased significantly when seeds were pretreated with 0.5 Mm SA All theprevious parameters were reduced significantly under PEG induced waterstress especially at 9%. Interaction between SAand PEG caused apositive significant increases in all studied parameters especially atconcentrations less than 6% and 9% PEG.3 - Growth parameters for corn plants grown at pots have showed a significant increase when pretreated with SA compared with that treated with DW. PEG caused a significant decrease in the growth parameters IIIespecially at 6%. Interaction between DW and 6% PEG recorded the lowest growth in all studied parameters. 4 - Biochemical tests : There was a significant increase in total carbohydrates and total chlorophyll content in leaves of corn plants pretreated with SA in compare with that pretreatdwith DW while the content of proline and glycine betaine were higher significantly in leaves pretreated with DW.In case of PEG induced water stress, the highest total carbohydrates content was at 6%, highest chlorophyll content at 3% while proline and glycine betaine highest content were at 6% PEG. 5 - Sodium and Potassium Concentration : The highest potassium concentration was at plant treated with SA while the highest sodium concentration was at plant treated with DW. Increasing PEG concentrations caused a significant increase in potassium concentration and a significant decrease in sodium concentration. Interaction results revealed that the highest potassium and the lowest sodium concentrations were at interaction between SA and PEG at 6%. 6 - Anatomical study results revealed that increasing water stress effected the leaves tissues structures and this were cleared at vascular bundles tissues (xylem and phloem tissues) and bundle sheath. Upper and lower epidermis, polliform cells were also affected by increasing water stress. The anatomy of leaves also showed that there was a positive enhancement in the structure of leaves tissues in the plants grown from pretreated seeds with SA.

Indian Musa acuminata L. In order to develop a program for micropropagation and were to investigate salt stress tolerance through the effect of NaCl, and water stress through Polyethelen glycol(PEG) and knowledge of the growth retardant of Paclobutrazol (PBZ) in multiplication of the branches vegetative and acclimatization and the effect of Abscisic acid(ABA) on improving salt and water stress tolerance. Halves of shoot tips were used explants which were cultured on MS medium supplied 5 m.l - 1 of Benzyl adenine (BA) to stimulate the multiplication of the branches vegetative and treated with different concentrations of sodium chloride and PEG and salt PBZ and ABA were calculating the number of branches vegetative resulting in diameter and height and number roots and length of follow - up and growth of agriculture and then conduct subculture for several times and then acclimatized and transferred to the plastic house. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1 - The addition of 0 or 20 or 50 or 80 or 120 mM of sodium chloride to the MS medium affected the multiplication of the branches vegetative in various percentages. This, in turn, resulted in a signficant increase in the required time to initiate the adventitious buds and lowered their number. There was also a significant difference in the percentage of increasing the numbers of those branches by increasing the salt concentrations. 2 - The addition of the concentrations 0 or 0.5 or 1 or 1.5 and 2 mg.l - 1 of growth retardant PBZ together with 5 mg.l - 1 BA resulted in lowering the required time for initiating the adventitious buds, increasing their number, decreased the number of roots and height of stem by increasing the concentration of PBZ.3 - The initial treatment by 1% PEG significantly increased than the concentration 0.5%. This increase included the number of the adventitious buds, number and length of roots, as well as height and diameter of stem.4 - The addition of 0.1 and 0.3 mg.l - 1 ABA to the nutrient medium led to lower th number and length of roots, stem height and diameter. The leaves became dry and yellow when compared to the control treatment. As far as the interactions between the sodium chloride concentrations in question are concerned, the two concentrations 20 and 50 mM showed a more significant difference than the other concentrations 80 and 120 mM in the number and length of roots, and stem length and height.5 - The addition of the sodium chloride to the nutrient medium resulted in a significat increase in the concentrations of sodium chloride ions and a significant decrease of potassium/ sodium percentage. The addition of PBZ, PEG, and ABA resulted in a significant decrease in chloride ion and a significant increase in potassium/ sodium percentage.6 - The sodium chloride treatment caused a significant increase in the leave content of Proline by incresing the salt. The interaction between sodium chloride salt concentrations and PBZ, PEG, and ABA showed a significant increase in the proline content by increasing salt concentration.7 - The treatment by the two concentrations 20 and 50 mM sodium chloride resulted in increasing the leave content of the total soluble carbohydrates, whereas the treatment by the two concentrations 80 and 120 Mm lowered the leave content. Considering the interaction between sodium chloride and PBZ, PEG and ABA, the interaction showed a significant increase in the leave content of carbohydrates at all concentrations compared to the control treatment.8 - The results showed that the leave content of chlorophyl increased significantly at the two concentrations 20 and 50 mM sodium chloride. Also, the treatment by PBZ, PEG, and ABA showed an increase in the chlorophyl content at all concentrations.9 - The resulted plantlets were acclimatized by sodium chloride salt concentrations and by the interaction of Sodium Chloride and PBZ, PEG, and ABA. The plant height and stem diameter were measured and compared to the control treatment.10 - The treatment by PBZ, PEG, and ABA concentrations that are interacted with Sodium Chloride salt concentrations at 20 and 50 mM led to lower the average percentage of lost moisture and increase the percentage of the success of acclimatization. 11 - Add Sodium chloride to the media has led to changes in the process of gene expression and the emergence of differences in the number and location and intensity of the protein packets.12 - The interaction between the sodium chloride and additives PBZ and PEG and ABA led to the disappearance of some packages and the emergence of other packages in different locations, especially packages 3 and 4.

Abstract: This thesis, is interested in the study of bifurcation solutions of some nonlinear fourth order differential equations by using the local method of Lyapunov - Schmidt. Two ways have been used in this study, the first is by using the general local method of Lyapunov - Schmidt and the second is by using the local method of Lyapunov - Schmidt in the variational case. In the first way we found bifurcation solutions of boundary value problem, It is showed that the bifurcation equation corresponding to the above boundary value problem is given by a nonlinear system of three equations. Also, we found the bifurcation diagram of the specifial problem. In the second we studied bifurcation solutions of boundary value of the equation, in the variational case, dxhe normal form of the key function corresponding to the functional, has been found. Also, we found a new geometrical description of Caustic with the bifurcation spreading of the critical points.

Abstract: This thesis aims at studying the role that the Arab League can do on the level of the Arab Gulf Emirates affairs from its emergence at 1945 till the abstraction of its projections to cooperate with Arab Gulf Emirates by the British occupation at 1965 and get the good and bad results that the Arab League and the Arab Gulf Emirates have achieved together according to the role of the League at the Arabian Emirates. It is necessary to shed the light on the stages that lead to the emergence of the Arab League and what its charter contains of subjects, aims, credits and what it has fulfilled from achievements on the political, economic, cultural and sociological level in order to compare all these achievements with what the Arab League achieves to the Arab Gulf Emirates, which has an important strategic and economy according to the British and the other western countries occupation. Since the Arab League has the ability to achieve more and more of the achievements on the Arabian level from its firm starting point, it has never regarded the Arab Gulf Emirates except after the and of 1952, when it has the opportunity to share some sort of cooperation with the Arab League, according to what the League part specifies the cooperation with other countries that did not be long to the Arab League, thus the Arab Gulf Emirates start to share and send their ambassadors ( Kuwait, Bahrain and Qutar ) to attend some of cultural, sociological and economical works of the Arab League … except some affairs that are related to politics and defense. Quickly, the League enlarges the level of its works in the Arab Gulf Emirates to have the job of defense the Arab area and protect it from the repeated Iranian claims. Also to have the ability to solve the disagreements that occurred in the area exemplified in the Iraqi - Kuwaiti crisis for which the league has a main role especially after the United Nations failure in finding a solution, so the Arab League adopted the issue and sent some Arabic armies to be on the boundaries between the Iraqi - Kuwait till the solution of this problem at 1963. In spite of that the Oman coast Emirates ( which is a part of the Arab Gulf Emirates ) stayed out of any contribution and cooperation with the Arab League till 1963. When mission Arab League visited the area in order to prevent any cooperation with Zion ( Israel ), the representatives concentrated on this point to make the members pay attention to an another problems in its report, such as foreign emigration to the Arab Gulf Emirates and the necessity to give support for the needed Emirates. The Council of the Arab League agreed to send mission of fact - finding and recommend the members to give fast supports to the area according to this specialists were sent to decide make a developed projects carried through five years. The British take the part of protecting their interests - counter after noticing the Arab seriously in giving supports, and they decide to put contrary projects to margins the Arab projects claiming that the Arab rulers agreement and the projects of giving supports of the Arab League within the British projects to develop the agreed Emirates. As a result of,in consequence of the Arab League on having a role in the Arab Gulf Emirates issues and it is its right to get ride of the British occupation on the area, so the British government increases its opposition to the projects of support. So, British sent Thomson in the time in which the general secretary started to visit the Oman coast Emirates through which he is able to take the agreement of the coast rulers to start the League projects at their Emirates, so Thomson threatened the rulers to punish them unless they cancel the agreement. The Arab League moved quickly to make the British face the situation and sent some experts Arabs to pave the way in order to make the Arab League carry on its projects. But, British do something to prevent those experts from arriving the Oman coast Emirates and removed ALSharja ruler who was the most insistent ruler to cooperate with the Arab League than others, so the order rulers were obliged to cancel their agreement on the Arab League project. The Arab League answer was unable to have actual steps to face the Britain insistence which was supported by Saudi Arabia that considered the intervention of Egypt and the Arab League in the Arab Gulf Emirates affairs as a direct threaten for her. According to the different views of Arab on one hand and the Arab - Britain difference the project is postponed as a whole. At last, it can be said that the Arab League, though doubting its suspended, has achieved some of its aims through trying to intervene itself in the Arab Gulf Emirates affairs, the League has shown the people of area that there is someone to protect and support them as possible as it could and to show them that they are not a lone to face problem but there is an Arabic nation stood by to face the problem with them. The League proved for British the Arab Gulf people is not a lone and for way from others but it was eager to get rid of his being a lone and being part of the Arab homeland and work to be higher and higher side by side with the Arab countries, but what is sorry for is that the Arab League tried to cooperate with Arab Gulf Emirates have proved the depth of Arab to Arab disagreement and the absence of cooperation between the League members, if any member talks frankly with the other and give him grantee not to intrude him self in the affairs of the other the topic would not be cancelled, that is to say, if Iraq and Egypt have talked frankly with Saudi Arabia about their secret aims and give the grantee not to intervene in its affairs the topic would not be cancelled, on the country, the Arab Gulf Emirates and the Arab League will get a lot of benefits, they would oblige British to regard the Arab Gulf Emirates when deciding any thing

Abstract: The researcher has chosen the ·~Israeli - Rumanian r ations Since 1948 to 1973" to be the topic of his thesis b cause it is an outstanding period in the history of relations between the two sides. Moreover, Rumania had diverged from her communist allies in her view towards the Arabian - Israeli conflict which was embodied in the wars of 1948, 1956,1967, and 1973. Rumania, also, established wide relations with Israel, Son1ething which no other communist state did. The thesis falls into an introduction, four chapters, and a conclusion. Chapter one deals with the circumstances of Rumanian Jews Since the Seventeenth century up to the establishment of Israel in 1948. It tackles their economic, political, and social circumstances since 1882 thereafter, then it focuses on the reasons behind their migration to Palestine up to 1948.Chapter two is devoted to follow the Rumanian Jews migration to Palestine till the fourth Arabian - Israeli war in 1973 and the consequences of this war, it investigates he reasons obstacles and influence at the migration on the elations between Israel and Rumania with the beginning f the n1assive n1igration during the years 1948 to 1951. he chapter, then, follows up the developn1ent and tumbling of the migration up to 1960. After that it studies t e reason behind its decrease up to 1973. The third chapter concerns itself with the political I raeli - Rumanian relations in (1948 to 1973). It 1 vestigates the reason of their improvement since 1948 up t the third Arabian - Israeli war in 1967. Then, it sheds ht on the Rumanian attitude changed up to 1969 when e bassies between the two sides were exchanged it £ cuses on the new Rumanian tendencres in (1970 to1 73), i.e. the first years of the reign of Anwar Al - Sadat, th Egyptian president, and the role and influence of these te dencies on the Rumanian - Arab relations. It also in estigates the Rumanian attitude towards the Israeli - A bian conflict in the United Nations Organization. The fourth and last chapter studies the economic Isr eli - Rumanian relations since 1948 to 1973, i.e. sinc e emergence of Israel up to the signature of the most 1portant economic agreement between the two sides in pril 1967. Then, it gaves on to follow these relations up the October war in 1973.On of the most outstanding finindings that the research mes up with is the difference between the Rumanian ws and the lJ.S.S.R and its communist allies towards Israel - Arabian conflict, and Israel's success to win mania to its side. The Ru1nanian policy was that ofb rgain between the conflicting parties, which aimed at g tting more interests from interests from the two sides in a ition to playing an eminent diplomatic role which gave (Rumania) an influence in the conflict dimensions

Abstract: There is no doubt that Koran is one of the historical sources whereas every thing mentioned is true no thing but true. therefore , we have based on the Koranic texts to study the character of the prophet (Abraham) (God's blessing and peace be upon him). The study included four chapters : - In the first chapter , we have studied the prophet (Abraham) father's name , whether it is Azir or Tarih ? we proved that all the prophets' fathers (God's blessing and peace be upon them) were monotheists , no one of them was a polytheist , also we clarified that " Abuladhiayf " and " Abualbusharatain" are two of his epithets. In the second chapter , we have mentioned his many attributes , whereas he might be the prophet who holds the most attributes , who was afflicted by God in many issues , the preferred friend of his God , the groaned who feared his God in all conditions , the patient who handled the difficult issues with patience , the repentant who invoked God a lot , the good example to other prophets , the veracious not the liar as what was declared that "he lied three times " ? , the sincere and the loyal to his God who was very hospitable to his guests and the prayer who was praying a lot. He was calling people to worship God by performing prayers and asking God to keep him away from idols worshipping and sedition , make people hearts take the side of his progeny and asked God the repentance for him and his parents. We have proved the incorrectness of some of what was attributed to him such as (fear , apprehension and devoutness) by stating that he was sent by God and that intended fear is in the human self and exists in every human being. In the third chapter , we have stated that the prophet (Abraham) was in a good social standing otherwise , how could he married two wives , one lived in Kan'an and the other lived in Mecca. In the fourth chapter , we have stated that the year of his death wasn’t mentioned in the holy Koran but there was a mentioning in the Koran refers to the prophet's (Abraham) will for his sons and grandsons to keep believing in the religion of fathers and forefathers which is religion of Islamic. The second chapter : the progeny of the prophet Abraham We have discussed the subjects of the progeny , its definition and the Koranic verses which stated the concept of progeny , thus , we have divided progeny into two types : good and bad The good progeny are the prophets , sons of Abraham such as Isaac , Esau , Jacob , Josef , Moses , Jesus , Elia , Eliash , Lot and Mohammed (God may bless them ).While the Koranic expositors mentioned no names of the bad progeny and what we have found "transgressors who make mischief and act wickedly on the earth " only. In the view of the fact that the wife is the base for the progeny , therefore we studied Sara 4 and we stated that some of her attributes are performing prayers , giving birth after menopause and also we stated how she buffeted her face after knowing that she was pregnant. Hajir , was the woman whom the prophet Abraham brought her to Mecca to build the Kaaba and perform prayers , therefore she wasn’t the bondwoman as described by the weak - minded who don’t follow proof. By Koranic evidential verses , we have stated many times that his sons are Isaac (the sacrificed - who was about to be slaughtered by his father Abraham as a sacrifice to God) , prophet Esau ( the promising in science ) and Jacob was the grandson of Abraham , thereupon his will of Islam was for them. Furthermore , we mentioned the subject of the descendants of prophet Jacob because they are the progeny (descendants) of Abraham and their father is prophet Jacob. Moreover , we have clarified the concept of descendants , progeny (followers) and the Shiites from his posterity and we stated that they were the Muslims who followed and imitated him and his way of worship , and the worthiest person who has the right to inherit prophet Abraham is prophet Mohammed (God may bless him and his progeny). The third chapter : - Faith of Abraham's father and his people. In this chapter , we studied the subject of Abraham's father's faith , we stated how he argued with his father about his peoples' idols , describing these idols and asking God's forgiveness to his father for not abandoning his people's idols. Also , we referred to proofs refers that the prophet Abraham's father was a believer basing on what were mentioned in the Koranic texts , and we mentioned that all the prophets' fathers are virtuous and purified and not disbelievers. In the subject of his peoples' faith , we mentioned the kinds of deities they had such as idols , images and gods , moreover , we described these deities , their inability to speak where they can't talk , hear , see , help and harm. At the end of his mission , the prophet started to dispute them , when he found that they would not understand him , he destroyed their idols to let them see the fact that their idols are incapable even to defend their selves , consequently they build a high building , piled up wood and burnt him but the God's almighty saved him. The fourth chapter : - prophet Abraham's faith In this chapter , we proved with evidences that he was a Muslim and was believing in God (Allah) , doomsday and Day of Resurrection. then we stated the meaning of uprightness (Hanafiah ) and upright ( Hanafi) , we said that it’s the religion of Abraham which is ( worshiping Allah , staying away and abandoning polytheism , and he is innocent from being a Jew (on the religion of Judaism ) or a Christian (on the religion of Christianity) but he is a Muslim (on the religion of Islam ) Moreover , we stated that the uprights are the people who abandoned their people's belief , idols worship , eat dead animals and submit sacrifice for idols , warn people not to kill the female infants , who said that we worship the God of Abraham and started to dishonor their people for not worshiping God. In addition to that , we clarified that there was a connection between all religions and we said that the prophet Mohammed (God may bless him and his progeny) was on the religion of Abraham. We mentioned in this chapter that he is the obedient slave to Allah , he immigrated by the order of God to the blessing land - Mecca - and his worship to Allah is a worship by nature. We mentioned that he is the disputer prophet who defended prophet Lot and his people , he was described as the prophet whom God sent down books to him and we mentioned what were cited in these books from verses , parables and wisdoms and we stated that it is a self - purification from doubts by performing worships. Further more , we indicated to the prayer , we said that it is the base in all religions and this religious duty was performed by the prophet according to what was mentioned in Koran and Torah. While the Imamate of the prophet was the last thing sent down by Allah to Abraham after praying and invoking Allah. Because of its importance , we said that the prophet wasn’t content with Imamate for himself but he asked it for his progeny and he was the first prophet who held this basic element (Imamate). In the end of this study , we revealed the more illustrated results which are : his father wasn’t a disbeliever but a believer , he is the most attributed prophet in the holly Koran , he was asking a lot God's forgiveness to his father , he disputed with his people about their idols revealing to them that they hear , see , harm and help nothing. He was the first prophet who destroyed his people idols and his religion was Islam

Abstract: The present study auns at exposmg the geographic components; natural 3illd man, I - e. public, economic and political which Yemen enjoys, and to evaluate m from a geo - political point of view and analyze them to indicate their vantages and disadvantages in order to reflect their exclusive power. The study is divided into introduction, conclusions and recommendations and ve chapters.iapter One presents the natural geographic components of the region which is 1bject of the study. These components include position, area, shape, roof, climate r natural resources, e.g. natural plant, water and minerals resources which have rous impacts on the state. hapter Two discusses the human components, e.g. public and economic and onomic. These are numerous such as population, the geographic distribution and tensity, the quality structure , age , the social and economical indicators. The cimomical components present the most important variables. This chapter also s ~ies the economical sectors of the state which include agriculture, hunting , iperals, transforming industrials, services, tourism, trading, communication and nsformation and the contribution of each sector in the local aggregate. apter Three is concerned with studying the political structure of the state and its c mponents. The contents of this chapter shows the development in the political s stem, the regime - structure and decision - making centers. J!apter Four analyzes the foreign policy of Y cm en : its neighbouring countries. It a •~ deals with the relations of Yemen with the Arab homeland, and with the great p ier like the united states, the European Union, Japan and with the international nizations.apter Five foreseers the geo - political future of Yemen through the researcher's scriptive and through his evaluation of the reign which is subject of the study.< : main conclusions that the study has arrived at are : Yemen has an important position which ts characterized by its geo - political effects on the reign.2. The large area of Yemen brigs a variety m the natural phenomena, e.g. the hypgraphic nature and clinate which help in creating various climatic and plant environments that provide economical specification among the different districtsin Yemen (the products of the orbit areas in planes, the products of the moderate areas in the high lands). This brings about a self - sufficient rate reaches at (%55 - 31) of food. Moreover, the area of Yemen gives it the ability to defend itselfin depth. 3. Yemen has (5) neighboring countries, 3 of which are marines and the other two are land countries : despite that Yemen has border problems with most of these countries, yet Yemen was able overcome these problems through makinga!,'feements to solve them.4. Although soil represents an important element of the elements of power in state, Yemen sulfurs from a reduction in the area of agriculture soils which include about 3% of the entire area of the country this is a small area and it represents oneof the geo - political weaknesses of the state.5. Yemen suffers from a clear reduction of water. The roof waters are very few and the rain waters arc inadequate in most areas.6. The study explores that Y cm en has about ( 4) billions drums of oil reserviour in 2000. This forms 0.4 , 0.5 of the world reservoir and opec reservoir in the same year. Yemen also has a large amount of natural gas, about (479)billions/m3 Thisforms a rate of(0.30, 0.69) of the world reservoir and opec reservoir respectively in the same year.7. The population intensity varied among the different districts in Yemen. It is very high in the capital, Ta'z and Al - Hudidya where it reaches about (6703, 204 , 145,7) pcrson/km2 respectively in 2000. On the contrary, the population intensity records the lowest rate in Al - Muhra' where it reaches (1) person I km2. This has a negative influence on the political and economical situation in Yemen. he study finds that there is a reduction in the social indicators for the public such as health. This reduction is due to the rate of spending on this sector which records about (1 and 2) in the aggregate of the local production.emen still depends in its foreign exports on a sole resource which is oil. The oil exports forms about %69.85 of the total exports in 2000.1 • The study shows that the strategic industrial sector occupies the first rank among the other economical sectors in the total aggregate where it fonns about (% 38.8). this sector includes about (0.49) only of the total employee in Yemen, whereas the agriculture sector contribute in about %54 of the employee in 2000. I. In studying the decision - making constitutions, it appears that the position of the president of the republic has effectively and vitathy affected the policy if the state. The other constitutions such as the representative council , the ministry council , the foreign ministry and the Judicial power have taken a participant rote in the political system. I •Yemen's economical relations with the other Arabian countries, i - e. non - gulf countries , are still wench. The economical indicators indicate that the value of the Yemenian exports to these countries reached about (51652000) dollars in 2000; while the Ycmen

Abstract: This thesis is concerned with the study of the Land 111 Classii'ication of part of Basrah District, applied Geomorph - f,1 ological Approach. The study area lies between lai tuds 0° 20 - - 31° BN & longj)itude 47°E, to Shat - Al - Arab RiverIi from the east bounded by Qurna in the North and Abu - Al - Khaseeb ii in the South. The area is extended from Hor Al - Hammar in the north to Khur Al - Zubeir in the south. Air photos, topoi ~. graphic maps and field checkes revaled that the - a.. - "N : !a could be ciassii'ied to eight land Systems as folJ.o1 - Natural Levees of Shatt Al - Arab.2 - Al - Hartba Land System.3 - Ho.. - Al - Hammar Land System.4 - Hai Al - Shuhadaa Land System.5 - Al - Zubair Land System. u·111 - The.i.ow land of Burgesia Land System.Al - Subkha Land System.8 - Arte.wee Land System. These land Systems have diffe~ent phisicai properties soil texture, percentage of clay minerals, soil PH, So, soditun ion exchange and Salinity.• The study of the area has shown that these variations ;in those elements due the different geomorphological processes : which effected the area. The Zubair land system is formedfrom Alluvial deposits and affected by deflation and denudation while Artawee Land System represent afluvial 'l!deposits of ancient running water. The Hur Al~Hslll!ll8.r formation is part of Marshes and moor lands lie in the Southern part of Iraq. The Natural Levee of Shatt - Al - Arab formed from suspended material carried by the river. Eartha ladd system forever is affected by the flood of Hur Al - Ha~r and Shatt Al - Arab and is formed.by Fluvial Flood plain. Hai Al - Shuhadaa represent the effect ion fresh water deposits on one hand, and by sediments from the Arabian Gul.t during I' the high Tide. It has been found that the high percent or Salinity end gypsum formation are the main elements of salt weathering in the area. The extent and rate of the geomorphological processes are affected by two types : - l. Dry weather and high temperature, so as the salts in solution are drawn up vmrds by capila : rry action and deposits in the upper horizons of the land, especially in Hartha landsystem, the margines of Hur Al - Hammar, the Hai Al - Shuhadaa and Artawee formations. ' The area is also affected by natural subsidense due to the earth staticts process which causes the subsidense of Deltatic area in the southern parts of Mesopotamian plane in Iraq. This plane is fulled up by deposi.. carried by the Tig : ris, Euplu?ates and their tributaries in : addition to the aealian deposits which is thought to be (l,750m3) million and caused t~e high percentage of clllY minerals montmorillon;te type, Silt and gypsum in the flood plain, v1h : t - : : e the quartz and non clay minerals become higher in the western parts of the area. 2. Human interfeJ."ence, where the land is an old civilization area, many civilized construction, had bui.ld up in the area, like rivers and canals used in irrigation processes from ancient times, which caused the aalinimation of the soil, on the other hand, man has constructed some dams at the margins of Hur - Al - Hammar as a mean !or draining the area and reclamation or the dam which was constructed !rom Basrah to use as railways. This dam has prevented the fresh water of the Hur to flood over the area, and exceeds the effects of the Arabian Gulf water to pentrate through it. These reasons revealed that the area become under the influence of high degree of salt weathering which attacts the concrete formation in one hand and lowering the agricult111' 9 capability on the other hand. So the area cound be classified for land use to four c1asses with minor ones.l. Land with minor limitation good for agriculture and civil construction i.e. Natural Levee Land System. 2. Lands with moderate limitation for agriculture and civil construction.3. Lands with moderate sever limitation restrict its use in pasture, agriculture, civil constructions.Lands with extremely sever limitation cannot be used for Human activity. However, the study has revealed that. the area could be [i face in future some problems mainly :

Abstract: The researcher arrived at the following conclusions concerning water resources in the basin of wadi (valley) surdud : 1. It is situated to the west of the capital San' a between lont,>titudes of 42.30 - 44.00 to the east and latitudes 15.00 - 15.40 to the north. It is an arid and semi - arid area.2. The area of the basin of the wadi is 2846.7 Km2. Topographically, this wadi is divided in to two sections. The first section is the coastal plain, which is characterized by being dilated with some inclination towards the Red Sea. The second section is the eastern heights of the basin of the wadi, which contain mountains of very steep slopes. These mountains reach height of more than 3000 meters.3. The climate in the wadi is not equable for example, temperature is high (43.3 C0 ) in the coastal plain area in July where as it decreases on the peaks of the mountain slopes to reach 22.7C0 in the same time of the year.4. The soil of the wadi, along the whole water path, is almost alluvial thick because of the flood deposits where as it is a mixture in the southern and northern parts of the wadi. 5. Vegetation cover is poor in the coastal plain of the wadi because of the dry climatic conditions and grass is dominating.6. The basin of the wadi is nearly triangle and its shape coefficient is 0.26.7. Relief rate in the wadi is 35.2 111/km.8. River grading ranks in the wadi arc six with 2449 downstream.9. The meandering rate in the wadi is l.43. This means that the wadi is zigzagged.10. Drainage types in the wadi are the tributary and the perpendicular.11. Underground water is almost every where in the basin of the wadi and it is easy to take out especially in the plain area.12.Underground water in the wadi is supplied by filtration from the bottom of the wadi. From running rain water and from irrigation surplus. 13.The depth where underground water is found in the wadi ranger from l 0 to 30 meters and it increases to more than SO meters in the area of the alluvial soil.14.The total rate ?fwater taken out from artesian and manually - digged wells is 133 x 106 m3/r.15.Water in the basin of wadi surdud is appropriate for different uses in terms of UN and WHO criteria.16.Number of population of the basin of the wadi is about 380.000. 17. Water needs for domestic purposes is 1S.200.00 liter /day.18. The total area of the land irrigated by water of wadi surdud is 33.000 hectares and the total water consumption is 1295.000 m3 /r. 19.The main crops in the wadi are cereals, vegetable and fruit.20.Livestock in the wadi is 250.000 in number and it consumes water of 760.500 m3/r.21. Water balance in the wadi is achieved by summation of the available surface and underground water and it is estimated to be 202 million m3/r.Total water need is 145.460.000 m3/r.

Abstract: The present study aimed to delineated the geomorphologic features in the area bounded between Shatt Al - Arab and Khor Al - Zubair by means of Remote sensing and Geographic Information system (GIS) techniques, southern Basrash city. The study traversestarted from Al - Saraji River in the north to the shore line of Arabian Gulf (Ras Al - Bisha) in the south. To acieved this study the researcher adopts four main methods : descriptive (filed trips), origin, development, and quantitative methods, the last one comprises theanalysis of texture and other physical and chemical soil properites, as well as, the using of GIS technique, i.e., the using of satellite image which supplied by the Landsat - 7, this image has many bands;1,2,3,4,5,7, and 8 bands, the sixth band was excluded because of its thennal nature which is out of the present study scope. To present a full desctiption and explanation for the geometric features, the data bases was employed for maps construction, the satellite images was subjected to many soft maps construction, the satellite image was subjected to many soft ware program to carried out engineering correction, digitization management, and position analysis and date base builddup to achieve the necessary maps. The information abstracted from the image analysis in addition to the physical and chemical properties of the study soils enable us to categorized the observed geomorphic features into four main unit; natural levees, transitional lands, sabkhas, and tidal flats, furthermore 1l is also thepresent present study emphasized the activity of GIS in offering time and efforts in studying the natural phenomena incomparsion with the traditional methods, moreover the GIS provide us with high flexibility in controlling the scale of the prepared maps. Regarding the physical and chemical weathering processes, the present study proved that the extension, contraction, dryness and wethess process play an important role in physical weathering which seems to be the dominant processes incomparsion with chemical one. The deposited sediments of both fluvial and Aeolian origin yield new lands, the continuous sediments deposition during 1983 - 2002 period creating a new land with a total area of about 92278 square meters.

Abstract: It is clear that the population geography has got a remarkable position mong branches of human geography clue to the importance of population in perations of planning and development. There is an obvious shortage in the opulation studies concerning Sultmrnte of Onrnn because the first census in the ultanate took place in December 1993 and other one was in the end of 2003. ftcr the researcher had got the preliminary results of this census, he included it the subject of this study so as to make comparison and know the time velopment of this phenomenon so a time dimension had been added to this Udicd phenomenon.l : The study is divided into four chapters. The first chapter has discussed the puh1tion growth in the Sultanate since the beginning of the twentieth century t I 2003. This chapter is divided into five subjects. The second subject has s died the population growth of Omanis and non - Omanis. As for the third s bjcct, it has tackled the natural increase of population, birth rate and death r tc depending on modern statistics issued by the ministry of health and n 1tional economy in Sultanate of Oman. The fourth subject has studied the f. urc of population growth in the sultanate while the fifth subject has studied ti urban growth. The second chapter has studied immigration and its geographical traits. Jt 1s divided into three subjects. The first subject has tackled the coming 11 uigration, its sources and currents. As for the second subject has studied rnal immigration. The third subject has studied the traces of immigration. The third chapter , which is the biggest one, has studied the distribution a density of the population. lt is divided into three subjects. The first subject h studied the size and relative distribution of population on the level the S ltanate and nationality. The second subject has been allocated to study ncrs of the distribution and its kinds. Population concentrations in the S tanate have been studied in detail we have cnlrnnced thut by maps, diagrams an tables. The third subject of this chapter has showed the effecting factors inth population distribution.Due to the importance of population structure, this subject has been sh eel in the last chapter which was divided into six subjects such as agest cturc , sex - structure 111 economic - structure, religious - structure, educationalstr cture and marriage structure. The study has concluded many results , the most important of which is dis ·ibution of population in the Sultanate in addition to the disability and dif rcncc that prevailed the former population estimations of the year of census as ell as the increase of illiteracy in the Sultanate. · In addition to that the Omani worl•crs were in the marginal jobs while the inc ming workers increased in the productive jobs.

Abstract: This study deals with the main garages in the Governorate ofMissan that ( represent the terminal of the movement of external, internal, and international means of transport. In the Governorate, this has made the private transport service adopt procedures about organization and submitting the services of transport in arranged. The means transport, operating at the garages, stand for a fundamental language for getting to and interconnecting with the city and it is outskirts in addition to the Govern orate and neighboring provinces. Also after the development and improvement of transport network;expansion of roads and interconnecting of chief garages are regarded a foundation of basic requirement for economic and social grpwth that will lead to the reduction of cost of transport. Later the reduction of cost commodities with link - up of entities of production with entities of consumption, taking the outlying regions out of isolation, ·facilitates the spread of cultural and sanitary services. It is not strange for center ·• of cities to be crowded and suffering from the traffic - game on account of the unexpected increase in the vehicles. The Governorate provided a large number of vehicles exceeding, it isl capacity and potential of regulation of streets and the area of the main garages! that cannot accommodate up to that increase in the number of vehicles operating!. the garages, this has results in difficulties and appearance of a lot of irregular situation witch have influenced the time - table of traffic in the main garageSJ owing to increase of demand of transport drivers. As a result of variety of location of the chief garages in the Govemorate, : the study only concerns the movement of transport of passengers and suffering of some garages from failure of planning in choosing this sites, so the stud)t relies on references and sources of a library in addition to the field study that ha$ contained some part of the subject in detail because of the carcity of source$ i concerning the topic of transport in Maisan. The research is composed of five chapters. The first one is about thit understanding of public transport; the second one focuses the natural principle$ and human factors affecting the motion of transport in the garages. The third one deal with the location of area, number of Jines, kinds of motion of transport anlll date of construction of garages, the fourth one studies the queuing theory. The fifth one is about public and private problems and problems of driver's vehicle taking conclusions and suggestions for solving such problems into consideration at the terminals (garages).

Abstract: influence and determine the quality of air pollutants in Al - Basrah governorate. It deals in details with the most crucial human an natural pollutants air factors such as rain falling , dust , lead in domestic dust , the acid rain degree , the concentrations of some gases (Oxide and amoniaoxide Carbon, amoni - oxide Sulfuric , Hydrocarbons , Chlorine , di hydrogine sulfur and Amonia ) throughout the area using (Aspirating Pump OS 50) and some bottles fir measuring atmosphere gases in part per million (ppm). The study falls into four chapters. Chapter one deals with the ·theoretical and systematic of the thesis , chapter.utwo tackles the natural factors that influence , positively or negatively the problem of the study , Chapter three discusses the human factors that help in causing the problem And chapter four includes a locational analysis of the most important air pollutants throughout collecting and measuring them and reaching at their concentrations. The study arrives at the following conclusions : 1. The astronomic position determines the climatic characteristics of the study area for it falls in the dry region which is reflected on the other natural factors and their effects on the distributions and concentrations of these pollutants. The geographical position of the study area , which is adjacent to Thi - Qar governorate which has the highest repetition of dusty and sandy storms in Summar , has a negative effect in increasing these pollutants in this area. In addition , there are some oilycountries adjacent to the study area that have an important role in casting much of these pollutants. The flat surface helps in activating the role of the wind in spreading the air pollutants and never be concentrated in certain places. This decreased the problem of air pollution. The climate causes the aridity of the soil , and fewness of the natural that supports the raising of the striping operation and the oxidation of the elements and gases that cause air pollution. The sandy dry soil has a negative role because of the easiness of its denudation by the wind which causes air pollution in the western part.Even water helps in absorbing some of the air pollutants and finding agricultural distances and natural plants. However , this factor looses much of its vital role because of the human interference in its pollution by drying out most of the marshes. The scarcity of natural plants has a negative role in protecting the air from pollution. The population which is (2100326 person) fling rubbish to the environment without any remedy. This increases the problem of the study.9. The fewness of the agricultural areas influences in increasing the problem of the study , in addition to the use of the chemical and organic fertilizers , insecticide and others.10. The increasing number of vehicles from (51383) at 2003 to (104012) at the end of 2004 increas air pollution. 11. Most of the environmental pollutants was resulted from some essential industries.12. The wars plays a great and danger role in destructing the environment.13. The highest average of the falling dust in the western side in Qhur Al - Zubair was (71.9) g/m2 , and the lowest average in the eastern ,., ~ side in Abu Al - Khaseeb was (38.6) g/m2 14. The amount of (Co2) exceeded its natural concentration (0.03) ppm. The highest concentration was (0.08 - 0.3) ppm and the lowest was (O.Ol)ppm.15. The oxide Carbon (Co) exceeded its natural and permitted concentration. The highest polluted concentration of the gas was (80 - 100) ppm, and the lowest was (5) ppm.16. The concentration of the polluted sulfur Dioxide (So2) exceeded its natural and permitted concentration the highest polluted concentration was (20 - 30) ppm, and the lowest was (10) ppm.17. The hydrocarbons had polluted concentrations exceeded permitted ones , as the highest polluted concentration was (10 - 20) ppm, and the lowest was (5 - lO)ppm.18. The chlorine gas has polluted concentrations exceeded the permitted ones, as the highest concentration was (1.0 - 2.0)ppm , and lowest was (5.0 - 1.0)ppm.19. The Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) has polluted concentrations the highest was (3 - 5) ppm and the lowest was (2) ppm. 20. The Amonia (NH3) gas has polluted concentration , the highest was (10 - 15) ppm, and the lowest polluted ones was (5) ppm.21. The highest average of the obstacles concentrations that contain lead (pb) was (2112.84) mlg/m3 , in which the percentage of the lead was (0.515)ppm in the southern sandy side , and the lowest concentrations of these obstacles that had lead of about (1623.28)mlg/m3 and (0.258)ppm was in Sa'ad Sequare.22. The concentration of the lead in the demostic dust is (0.033) ppm in Al - Basrah and (0.030) ppm in Al - Hartha.23. Abstract: The Shared rivers and borders between Iran and Iraq were a source of dispute between the two countries. They were the main reason behind the war that took place from 1980 to 1988. Consequently , they evoked avaviety of possibilities for the middle east and the Arabian Gulf in particular. So many people couldn't realize the geopolitical reasons anrl the stmggle among the international and local powers. Forexample , in shatt Al - Arab Case , Which is among other 42 rivers both parties hold strict positions. They were not ready to give any mutual concessions. Moreover , the interntional law and the bilateral agreements show the natural right of Iraq in these rivers. Iran was dribbling with Iraq but; it was so cooperative in solving water resources problens. This indicates that the stvuggle between Iraq and Iran is ideological , ethrographic and Civilization One. The British occupation to the area of study worked on sophisticating the problem. Their attitude tawards this I problem is the sans as it is with other border problems in the area. Whatever are reasons behind the Iraqi - Iranian war , the main one is the inability of the tues countivies to arrive at a satisfactory settlement since the appearance of the indepevdent Iraq in 1921. This includes the whole eastern border line that extends from the very south to the two countries and Turkey which is about 1312 km. Iraq is have feeling that the Iranians what to have a control over the Iraqi territories and water resources , Especially , Iraq has a short Coast on the Arabian Gulf whichis about 60km from Fao to Um Qasr. Iran , on the other hond , hasa 2000km - Coast long. In addition , Iran did not respect the principles o neigh - bourhood and the international Low Concerning the Utilization of the Shared rivers. This conld be attributed to the multi - ethnic and multi - nationa 1S;·.0 l nature of Iran. The geostratigic location of the area is reflected in th S~ strategil American in the area. Hence , the U.S.A. has worke o g~ depening the points of dispute and encouraged the Iranians to to e s~ radical position and refuse any possibility of cooperation are! har on SS - between the two Islamic Countries. The research has arrived a th SJ : ;, ~ following Conclusions : There is no honest will between the Co - riparian states to solve thebordor problems because they don't Comply with the principles of intemationel Low and arbitration.2 - The water Source Countries ( Iran and Turkey ) do not recognize the right of Iraq of a just Share of the water and the joint property and not Causing any damage to others. on their part and in using water , Iran and Turkey have caused damage to Iraq.3 - The security of any state is determined by natural , topographical , economic , political , military , Scientific and culturol properties. They play an effective role in the state political weight ( strongth or weakness). They also play a role in the cooperation and dispute between Iraq and Iran Concerning the joint rivers. 4 - There is no future strategg between the two countries about the investment and maintenance of the shared rivers for they are not interested in this crucial source.5 - The real problem of the shared rivers between the two countries is that they do not make use of them in the proper way , and old procedures used because of the poor en

Abstract: SM;thesis titled (Water Pollution in Euphrates, Thi Qar Go~morate Environmental Geography Study) includes an experiment to Euphrates water in Thi Qar Govemorate of pollution after making a n•riofchemical and physical tests, water was tested for the period from 2006 - 2007 throughout relating the polluted concentrations for the river with rates of water discharge which differ according to the diff~nt of seasons. "five sites were specified within the study area are different. spatiaJ,ly, and picking up samples during the four seasons which include the water of Euphrates and others of its bottom sediments. Then the results wer~ shown and evaluating the river's water regarding these results throughout using the water for different human purposes include drinkingp~ti*elS·,1'.ndustrial and agricultural usages (Irrigation). !he content of the study has four chapters and introduction. First , chapter discusses hydrological study for Euphrates water from its high sources in Turkey passing in Syria and Iraq till the area of the study expJaining the main problems leads to change quantity features and quality of its water. Second chapter deals with the natural factors in area of the stuqy, which has an effect on changing characteristics of river's water.. Thitd c~pter discusses the human factors which lead to pollution of Euphrates' water within Thi Qar Govemorate represented by dirt of civil sewage, industrial, drainage water and fertilize' rs used in agricultural field.Fourth chapter has a number of chemical and physical characteristics for water and sediment of Euphrates that that results shows an increase in co¢entration proportion for each of (Tran, Si02, Mg, P04, CL, Tur, TH, Ee), which exceed environmental limits for their concentration accol.'ding to Iraq Standard of Water Environment. The concentration proportion of (N03, Do, TDs, HC03, Ca, S04, PH) are within the environmental limits for their concentration. The results of bottom sediments of Euphrates for (TOC, EC) exceed environmental limits for their concentration, but the value of PH is within these limits but. it is distinguished of alkalinity. So, Euphrates water was polluted and it is not good for human usages (drinking), as well as it is not suitable as water used for industrialization, except cooling purposes, also is not proper to use this water in irrigation because it is classified within C3 Type of irrigation water types in the American Laboratory and it is of highsalinity and it doesn't use in the case of existing active drainage networks, high penetration soils and agricultural crops have the ability to resist the salinity.

Abstract: Despite that the villages is older and more ancient in civilization and bigger in population and in construction beside they are larger in geographical distribution of the cities, but the geographers' interesting with villages came late as far as time is concerned and weak as far as science is concerned as compare with the study of the cities. Thus, it is very needful for the Iraqi villages in general and Shattra in particular at Thee Qar province with the scientific, academic, and governmental development to day from any time ago, specially with the crumble down of its economical status and increasing its social status. This was the starting point for that academic research that takes the villages of Shattra as sample of the rural traditional villages for the geographical study. The research depends basically on the field study further more the researcher lived himself there through his periodically visits there and had been acquainted with the people's suffering because of the leak of social services and the infrastructure. The revealing of special distribution module for the rural population centers and analyzing the natural and human elements that are related with the distribution module form significant study in human geography. The aim of modeling is to reach limited number of modules that the researcher had studied. This was specially after developing of the modern statistics methods that were followed by other sciences in studying the modules of the special gathering modules and the methods of their distribution in earth. Thus, the study came to be anticipation in that way for revealing the modules of the riral population modules and the researcher's interesting in study that expresses the affirmation of that syllabus and believing of the vivid and regional importance for it includes the agricultural lands with fertilized soils beside surface irrigation systems that are represented by the Gharaff stream and its branches. To achieve the goal of this study, it is necessary to divide the study into five chapters in addition to the results. The first chapter dealt with the historical development of the rural population and the historical rise of Shattra district and the satges of its establishment, and the demographical development for the people of its rural villages since the second population statistic process in Iraq till 2006. The second chapter dealt with the geographical rural distribution for the rural centers and the numeric distribution for the rural population centers, also the density of rural population and the modules of spatial distribution for the rural centers at the area. In addition to the quantum distribution of the rural centers and the civilized rural parts. The third chapter dealt with the effective elements in rural centers at the district, that divided into natural and human elements and decided diagramming that draw the picture of rural population. The fourth chapter put to study just the morphology of traditional villages because of of the unavailability of planning villages also it came across the methodology of morphology of rural housing and the modules of their distribution and the population status and its efficiency. The fifth chapter included showing the social educational, health , entertainment , and infrastructural services such as electricity and drinking water and the transportation and evaluating the efficiency of that services then looking for their environmental harmony with the regional relationships of the area of the study

Abstract: The relationship between human and his environment in general and his health in special way, not generated during just past centuries, but it had its roots when the God created human on the earth. He is struggling to be adapted for his safety in the time that the environment is simple and uncomplicated either at the present time and under the industrial progress and environmental pollution situations, the human environment became complicated and health problems increased to be the main concerns of the complexity of the impact of seminars and scientific conferences. Perhaps say Legacy (Health is a crown on the heads of healthy people, just feeling by the patient) referring to particular importance of health. Respiratory disease considered as an environmental diseases that afflict a large portion of human society at different age groups, and quality. Wherever conditions were favorable for the human injury, he falls as prey on the impact of the disease. Respiratory disease, respiratory allergies and asthma has multiple causes, compatible with and due to the multiplicity of tissues and organs that being infections involved firstly, and for multiplicity of environmental factors that cause disease secondly. Human self - predisposing of allergies and asthma led to the respiratory infections irrelevant to the different environmental factors leading to the injury. Natural factors such as climate and its components have a direct or indirect effect. However, some human activity may result environmental changes such as air pollution that caused by gases and smoke particles that induce a negative impact on the respiratory system. These factors may initiate together interfering impact, creating a harmful atmosphere to human population in the absence of concern for the environment. Finally may reflected negatively on the health and human lifestyle and thus get many diseases, including allergy and asthma. The study is subjected to reveal the most prominent environmental factors (natural and human - making) that lead to the spread of respiratory illness (respiratory allergies and asthma) in the province of Thi Qar, and then find a correlation between them to show the temporal and spatial contrast as well as the identifying the demographic characteristics of infected people in correlation with by age and quality groups. The study is based on descriptive and statistical analytic approaches, which converts digital data into information for the purpose of the comparison and stand on the most important reasons that explain the change phenomenon in the time and place designated to serve the scientific research as well as that used observations and interviews for the purpose of collecting data and verifying their accuracy, especially for human side. This thesis considered as the first study interesting with geographical respiratory disease respiratory allergies and asthma distribution in Thi Qar province. It has been used a statistical ways and means to address the data to serve the research topic and on the basis that attended chapters as follows : The first chapter discussed the theoretical and organizational framework that included a range of environmental terminology and types of diseases and respiratory diseases, allergies and asthma.Chapter two contributes in the study of the environmental factors for the emergence of diseases, allergies and respiratory in ThiQar.Chapter three specializes in the study of temporal variation of the allergy of respiratory diseases during the period of 2004 - 2009 according to the following characteristics : - Annual changes to the allergies of respiratory diseases, asthma and its relationship to variable environmental factors. - Relationship of climate characteristics with seasonal variables for under study diseases.Chapter four interested in the following items : - Detection of spatial variation of infected people in related to diseases under study and the roles of environmental factors to show that variance. - The study of demographic characteristics (age and gender composition) of people with disease under study.

Abstract: Shatt Al - Arab forms from the confluence of : rs main tributries the Tigris and Euphrates at Qurna. It occupies the lower part of the basin. It runs south - eastward to flow into the /\rab Gulf with 196 Km length and an average width of 500 m. The river depthvaries from 7 m at Fao to J 5 m in Basrah. Its total basin area is 909200 Krn2.The physical and human factors have agreate in flunce upon the geneual properties of water in the area. The geological struction itself has an influnce upon the river discharge throughout the seepage loses which take part in increasing the salt groundwater( approximately ( 8 - 64 ) m mhos I cm ) , in addition , the gentle slopes of the ground with an average of 0. 02 m I km decreased the river flow to ( approximately 0.55 m Is ).The dry climate with high temperatures approximately 24 , 8° C, low rainfall with an average annual of 142 mm and the interse evaporation 3090.51 mm , have their role in increasing the water losses from the river to 0.21 ~ill ion cubic meter ( bcm ).Furthermore , the human conditions inside and outside the country have their influnce upon the quantity and quality of water especially the upstream riparian basin states which take large scale development particularly in storage and irrigation. Also , the. traditional irrigation methods play a negative role in wasting and polluting water. Further , the increase in demanding wate1· for the different use aspects of improvements. The study of the hydrological properties indicate that the average water discharge reaches to 646 cumecs ( m3 I s ) ( 20.3 bcm ) for the period ( 1986 - 1998 ). Its water , discharge depends on its main tributaries : Tigris , Euphrates , Al - Sewib and Al - Eiz with an arerge annual of 168 , 151 , 105 , 222 cumecs Successively. It also depends on Al - Karon discharge with an average annual of 63 cumecs at present. The river discharge various yearly , seasonally and monthly depending on the water year properties , i.e. weather in is wet , neutral , or dry. Water levels vary also yearly ,seasonally and monthly depending on discharge and the influence of ebb and tide. The present study shows that Shatt - Al - Arab faces many problems such as the influence of storage projects and the exploitations of the upstream riparian states on water quantity and quality , the effect of different sorts of pollution. The area also suffers from lack of management staff in their duties and the absence of observation and association of the concerned authorities.Exploitation from all its sides proved that the present requirements controle 34.5 % of the available water. It was also revelied that the water budget in higher than the available water with an average surplus of 13.22 hem meanwhile , the area confronts future waher deficit as a result of the development in accomplishing irrigation and storage projects of the upstream basin states and Iraq which will reach to 82 bcm.

Abstract: The importance of the population studies has become greater in geographical, soial and economic studies in very quickly time. Studying the geography and the cience of population has become one of the basic methods in geograpgy and socioloy sinces, it can solve the recent problems by realizing and analysing them aswell as inding the rriost suitable answers for them, which are presented by the results of the opulation studies and its possiblities of applications in developing, economic, social nd development plans in many states especially those which are under going a connuous and fast changes, just like Bahrain and the rest of the Gulf Oil states.Bahrain can be considered as an oil state which population are greatly controlled y the political, economic and social factors, since the discovery of oil has made radical change, It has transfered the economy of such state from a conventional one epending on agricultul - .e : , and fishing to amodren one depnding on oil incomes and vestments As aresult, aforign labour has brough u to manage the developing moveent as well as supporting the shortage in national labour and contributed grealtlydeveloping these states. The foreign labour has helped in achieving the developing plans, but, it has left s veral demographic, social, economic and political influences on the population of e region, and their growth, construction, distribution and their movement. By conSfdering what is said above, the aim of this research is studying the population in ahrain whether they are native or not and the role of the spatial and natural moveent of the people in showing the spatial changes in the compartive census periods 71, 1981 and 1991 then analysing and finding their causes and motives according the geography of population. This desertation consists of four chapters. The first one deals with the population ovements of the people and its effect inchanging the number of the population.oreover, this chapter is divided in to two sections, the first one deals with the patns and motives of the residential movement in atheoritical approach, while the s cond section concentrateji on the directions of the coming migration to Bahrain by studying its development and trends a~d - it~ pla~or.mqEr, - The second chapter discusses the populatipn growth ¥1d 1~ts effect on the change of the population bulk in Bahrain by studying the development of the populati6n 9~f!' : jt1~,jilld clearing the rule of the natural enlargment of every clase of the Bahrai - 7ty in the population growth of the state. 1~7.third chapter deals with the influence of the spatial change on the population 1dis - t~gutiqn in the ·state by studying the spatial change and population distribbution d~fi~rrding on the standareds of relative and density distribution and Knowing the rcoet : itre of population and density as well as the actual distribution of population. . Moreover, the fourth chapter, sums up the major factors affecting the distribu; tioni·~f population in Bahrain by discussing them into two groups in order to show tHt : nattiral and human factors in distribution, besides the problem of redistribution'of people - in the state and applying its effects. 'Finally; the researcher puts the conclusionss he has found throngh stuying this subject - the most outstanding one of them is that the coming migration plays a fundemental role in changing the population bulk and spatial diffrences through the diffrent census periods - at the encl of the desert ation.

Abstract: The Second Chapter deals with the human factors related to workers, irrigation and the adopted means of it.The plants symbolized by big dams, drainage and the projects that deal with the agrarian refonns. It also deals with the ownership system and its affect on the agricultural product It has also some comments on the agricultural policy and the biological factors, transportation and marketing. As for the Third Chapter, which is regarded as the ma.in idea in this study, we see that it is specialized on studies of the agricultural product of the year 1988 to make it clear that the variance of places have something to do with the agricultural product, headed by classificqtion of the product and the scales adopted in some of the geographical studies. In this Chapter there are also studies on farming a and orchards as for their distribution on suberbs and the geographical factors behind that. At last this Chapter studies the agricultural changes between 1980 - 1988. This study aims to focus the place variance onagricultural production in Upper Euphrates region which consists the suberbs of Ramadi, Heat, Haditha, Aana and Al - Qaem. The region is situated in the western part of Iraq in Anbar Governarate which is about 29% of the survey of the whole Governarate. The survey of this region is regarded as 9.2% compared to the survey of Iraq. This region is suffering from a big problem which is the limited fertile land for agrivulture that does not exceed 1% from the whole survey of the land in the region. The study consists of.three Chapters. In the First Chapter, the researcher deals with the Natural factors affecting the variance of plance on agrilcultural products after flashing the light on studies concerning the place and the size of the region. The survey of the directorate and the important administrative development in the region In addition to the background on the surface, the climate, the soil and water resources that affect on the agricultural production.

Abstract: Among many other climatic elements, wind is the one of the most important ones for its an active role in specifying the nature of climatic features ; which consequently made it essential to study directions and velocity of wind both for meteorologists and climatologists as they cause a lot of weather changes such as those occurring to temperature, humidity and others. They - wind - lead, for instance, to rise temperature if they come from warm sides and decrease it in case they come from cold ones.If they were humid, they would cause rainfall over areas beneath and they also, in case of being speedy, cause dust storms of both kinds : sand and earthen ones.Wind affects many economical activities. They affect on determining the sites of industrial establishments and where its waste dumps should be located; on city construction and agriculture productivity along with exploiting wind in various fields such as using it in generating energy. The purpose of this research is to study directions and velocity of surface wind in Iraq as far as its differences in time and place between the southern, northern and middle zones, and the one zone stations are concerned.A 30 years climatic cycle (1961 - 1990) was chosen to the amount of 12 stations distributed in the country as follows : - Zakho , Kurkuk, Suliamaniya, and Mosel stations for northern region - Khnakeen, Ana , Alrutba and Baghdad stations for middle region. - Al - Hai , Al - Diwaniya, Al - Nassiriya and Basra stations for southern region. The research included three chapters. The first one dealt with affecting controls on directions and velocity of surface wind in Iraq. These controls were divided into stable ones : (locations as for latitude, topographic relief and water flats) and dynamic : (air pressure, air masses, weather fronts and weather highs and lows). The second chapter treated of wind ,directions in Iraq as to its differences in time and place according to circled - directions sectors. It was also possible to study the weather condition of the change of prevailing directions for chosen stations in the country. As for the third chapter, it was devoted to study the velocity of surface wind in Iraq and show its differences in time and place. It also studied the standard velocity registered in station during different years as well as the daily course of the velocity of surface wind in the stations of the study during January and July.In final, the research contained conclusions being reached through studying the subject of this research.

Abstract: Water is considered as a strategic resource for economic development. Thus , Um Al - Maark possesses considerable development of water resources in the lower Euphrates basin. The river takes from the right bank of the Euphrates (10) kms downstream ofNasiriya with a total length of (108) kms. There are five canals branching from the right bank of the river each with a capacity of 25 cumers. The river controls 60 - 65 % (185) cumecs (5,82) bcm of the Euphrates discharge at Nasiriya ( 199) - 1998). Its water discharge is affected by seepage losses with (0.45 - 0.55 ) m3 I m1 I day and evaporation from the channel with (0.04) bcm, due to high average temperature (24.6) °C and very high soil permeability (15 - 43) m/d.Um Al - Maark plays a vital role in water resources conservation by controlling water distorted at the Marches and Arabian Gulf and directed to the western desert to irrigate (150000) ha. Furthermore, the river maintains the Euphrates and Shatt Al - Arab water quality by limiting the Marshes polluted wat : - r with an EC value (6) mmhos I cm which increased water 11 salinity of the river's at Qurna to ( 5.1) mmhos I cm during ( 1990 - 1992 ) COIDJ - 'dred to the previous salinity 0.96 ( 1967 - 1969). The water quality of the rivers has been decreased to (2.3) and (2.6) mmhos I cm ( 1995 - 2000) at Qurna and Maqil respectively, as a result of the implementation of Um Al - Maark, Saddam and Al - Ezz rivers.UM Al - Maark will be used as flood control system. It will be able to convert (508) cumecs from the flood water to the western desert as in 1988 and up to now to be used for irrigation and artificial groundwater recharge. These will maintain environment system. The ri·.'er promotes considerable economic and environmental developments forward by utilizing the desert virgin land with (150000) ha.The present irrigated land is (6250) ha, producing (3525) tons. This will L increase to (580800) tons/year with a net value of (77190) MIDS (38.6) M$Um Al - Maark is an important system for artificial groundwater rech?.rge in the Dibdibba area which has a rapid agriculture development affecting groundwater storage due to increasing demands and low natural recharge with (0.63) and (0.31) bcrn respectively. As a result the groundwater level decrease to (0.25) m I year and salinity increases to ( 0.28) mrnhos I cm I year. Therefore,Um Al - Maark is constructed to feed groundwater with (l.35) hem. This increases the groundwate r level and decreases salinity by (0.8) m/year and (0.4 )mrnhos /cm/ year respectively. Thus the river maintains water efficiency to cope with future development. Finally , to implement the river objectives the following measuresshould be considered : l. It is necessary to construct two regulators on Um Al - Maark and the Euphrates.2. An Authority should be established to be responsible for sand dunes control , lining canals, hydrological , geological , climate , soil and natural vegetation information.3. Effective irrigation methods should be applied. 4. High agriculture intensity should be used.5. Farm management practics regarding training , machinery , irriga.ion , ,drainage , fertilizer... etc should be enhanced.6. Water should be well distributed between the river canals and lining should be adopted7. Studies regarding water and land resources should be enlarged.8. Agricultural facilities such as roads , electricity , machinery , health centers and education should be considered.9. Vegetation cover should be improved.

فضلا عن دراسة التباين الكمي والنوعي للملوثات الجوية المتساقطة فوق مح | The purpose ( objective ) of this research is studying air pollution phenomena Bahylan governorate through studying the vanatins the concentrations of air pollntntnts the governorate through some stations which measure the concentrations of gases and also studying the quality and quantity differences for polluters that falling over Bahylan govenorate during 2010 through some source locations that are distributed in city center and some other places. For this purpose, reported hinformation ( the ministry of environment governorate , the Iraqi air information , the quality of air in Babylan environment governorate during 2010 were used. The lowest and the highest limits and yearly average for each kind of polluters as well as the quantity of falling dust at each location during the months of study year were stand by using anautomatic absorbition tool to measure the concentrations of heavy elements that mixed with dust during the seasons. The human and natural factors and how much they influence wpon ari pollutants at Babylon were standed too.The increasing of the concentrations of air pollutants at Babylon is caused by natural and human reasons with granted eldeat to the human factors which is represented by industry , transportation , population and agriculture. The location of the city which is neighbor to some governorates has a big role in driver these governorates by wind.Factors adhering air pollution at Babylon governorate are : 1 - The astronomical location specified the climate features to Babil governorate which it lies in the centre of Iraq made it influenced by the climate of middle Iraq which is hot and dry ( BW) which reflected on the other natural factors and it role to influence the distribution and concentration of air polluters 2 - The geographical location of Baghdad , Anbar and Karbalaa which are next to Babil made the area of study influences by pollutant which are poured from these governorate whether they are natural like dusty storms or human like industrial waste which the wind played a vital role to transport them to the study area. 3 - The area of study has a property which is plane surface and average about ( 0,23 ) meter per Kilometers towards northwest , southwest , and also the existence of surface water by. Euphrates and its feeds and also the dependence of population on it for the first place in the area of study for lack of rain 4 - The climate has a negative role in the of the problem because of high degree of heat and the increasing of steaming and the lack of rain , all that led to draught of soil and break down. Also the lack of natural greenery contributed increasing of naked soil wind for the autumn of dust and sandwich they are air pollutants, and for the hot climate influence on high of elements and gases by the influence of sun races from the light chemical to change the gases into elements more harmful on air pollution 5 - The soil of soft muddy area in the river's shoulders and the bad drainage pools was more resistant to naked wind operation and less influence on air pollution , while the sandy soil especially in the south east of the governorate was less wet and catch up was less resistant for wind naked was more influence in increasing air pollution. 6 - For water resources positive influence in reducing of research problem in the dry climate area study through absorbing air pollutants and find a agricultural areas and natural greenery which descending on rivers shoulders , but this factor has lost much of its influence in protecting the air out of pollution because of man's role and there was not any role to the deep water in the agriculture in the area of study 7 - It has appeared that the increasing in population has a big role in the previous problem , the population in Babylon governorate during 2010 reached ( 1712329 ) which required civilized enlargement opposite to green areas and increasing the quantity of waste materials out of population different activities also acting negatively towards environment. 8 - The planted area in the study area in 2009 - 2010 has reached about ( 773355 ) acres that reduces during the summer season which the air pollution become higher through it. On the other side this activity has an influence through finding different air polluters for example injunction seeds , using agricultural killer , chemical and organic and also the wrong agricultural styles and wrong shepherding which made this activity one of the reasons of air pollution. 9 - For the transportation field role in increasing the problem of the research where the number of vehicles increased the study area from ( 1481 ) in 1977 to ( 128270 ) in 2010 while some of these3 vehicles are old and they use bad quality of power ( petrol ). The large number of these vehicle on roads and streets solid obstacles in the city center in making the pollutors more concentrate in these areas. 10 - The industrial activity in the , but the affect of it differs from one industry to another where the industrial field in the area of study is the most important human activities that affects in the research problem but the degree of its affection differed from one industry to another resource like ( gas oil and gas ) as an elementary this is the most polluters to the air and the building industry has a big role in increasing air pollution by the polluters which are poured by this industry in the areas where they are found or the near by areas and also the food industry which increases the problem of air pollution.11 - In Babil's university station it has been appeared that the higher monthly a verge gases constration ( O3 , No2 , So2 ) with constrations ( 0. 36 - 0.25 - 0.12 )ppm consequently 12 - It has been appeared that the higher monthly for the following gases consitration ( Co2 - NO ) ( 499. 886 , 0.2 ) consequently ppm by Abu Khistawy station 13 - Hamza Al - deli area has shoed higher levels for gases constrations ( CH4 , CO ) ppm ( 8. 19 , 1.14 ) ppm consequently 14 - Nadir quarter in Al - Hilla city shoed the largest amount of dust Falling are Babil during the year of study where it became (841.554 gram /m2/ year ).15 - It has appeared that the higher on sentration of (pb ) (100.48 miligram /m3 ) in Sinjar area in Hilla 16 - The highest concentration of ( Cu ) ( 71.42 miligram /m3 ) and it is registration in Nadir area in Hilla 17 - The measurement location in Mehaweel showed the highest concentration of iron and cadimuim ( 71. 93 , 872. 35 miligram /m3 ) consequently.

Abstract: The subject matter is connected with ecology and from this point it gets its importance, because it is the place that the living things are live and reacting with each other positive and negairly. The existence of the falling meteorics in an environment of the study place is connected with human and natural factors which contributed in away or another in the increase or the decrease the a mount of the falling dust on certain place rather than another. The first chapter tackles some of the environmental scientific concepts and method which has been followed for writing the thesis. The second chapter is talking a bout the geographical natural factors which caused the variation of the quality and the quantity of the falling meteorics in the study field. The third chapter is a bout the human factors which caused the variation of the quality and quantity of the falling meteorics. The fourth chapter is analyses the environmental circumstances which were behind the variation of falling meteorics among the places of the study field. The fifth and final chapter is displaying the environmental circumstances which are in charge of the variation of the falling meteorics in the suburbs of the study field. This study can be considered as the first environmental study that shows the quality and the quantity of the falling dust and rain on THI - QAR province, the study used the analytic method which based upon the quantative description and explanation for the information and data of subject matter of the research. The study made it obvious that the environmental situation of THI - QAR, and its influence upon the falling meteorics has several results which are : 1 - The natural geographical and human factors have a great deal of contribution in determining the quality and the quantity of the falling meteorics in the study field, but the influence of each factor differs from the other, not only that but it differs from one factor another in the same group.2 - Climate is considered one of most influencial natural factor in the subject of the study, because of the increase of temperature level, the amount of evaporation, and the scanty humidity that the soil contains, the shortage or fluctuation of the quantity of the rain the thing that made it easier for north - west wind to carry the tiny particle of the broken, especially from the sedimentary plain.which represents (90%) percent out of the whole area of the province which facilitated the flow of the wind because of its plainly spreading from the north the south. Therefore, the influence of climatic characteristics is direct on the soil, because most of the lands in the study field are lacking the natural plants which can from a protecting shield its surface.3 - The direct adjoining of this province to provinces like, AL - MUTHANA, AL - QADISYA, and AL - WASIT, participated in helping the tiny particles of the dust to reach this place, and this is very obvious through the increase of the amount of the falling dust on the northern and the north - east of the study field, because of the domination of the barren land which represent most of the lands province, that their influences reached the study field because of the north - east wind.4 - The increase of the aquatic surface areas in the southern and the south - east parts palys an important role reducing the amount of the falling dust on these parts, because the suburbs and regions which took the first stage in the minimum amount of the falling dust are those whom the marshes and pools occupy most of their lands, which became typical sediment places to the tiny particles of dust and soil contrary to the northern and north - west parts which lacks that.5 - The man with his activities has a negative role fundamentally in the work of the natural influences, that is to say, the increase of the desert in a formidable areas of the study field, which made it a fundamental source supply the air with dust. The un availability of plantation projects and stabilizing the sand dunes, or the uncovered soil especially in the northern and north - west of the province, in addition to the weak agricultural consciousness regarding the land administration, and not following the system of (agricultural cycle) and the bad grazing until the agricultural activity because unable to play its fundamental role in reducing the flying dust, add to that the distant of the unuseful land for plantation is (2448472)d.m leave only (15%) percent invested land for season 2006 - 20076 - The beginning of industry that the study field witnessed played two roles simultaneously,Firstly it has not any influence on the level of purity of the rain water in an advanced way, because of the small amount of issuing gases that the factories produced.Secondly a percentage of the chemical elements dust and then sediment with it.7 - The transportation roads contributed in causing most of the rising dust and exists in the suburbs and areas of the study field, that because of the huge number of the unpaved streets, which reached (2087)k.m which is six times bigger than the paved streets, and even those paved streets became unuseful for moving and transporting these streets issuing the dust as soon as any transportation medium pass through or even if the wind moves. The transportation media from vehicles and motorbikes are responsible for the existence of lead and cadmium with the tiny particles of the dust, and its percentage increased the centers of there suburbs, because of the high population which is connected with the number of transportation media, we should know that producing the exhausted things close to the land surface supporting the speed to sediment of it with the falling dust.8 - The influence of the places out of the study field was very obvious through moving the tiny particles of dust from the close surrounding provinces, or from the desert of the neighbouring countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and that is a natural thing because we are dealing with an atmosphere that is opened to the climatic variation.9 - The amount of the falling dust was increased during summer because of the climatic characteristics mainly adding to that the rest of the geographical factors mentioned above.Secondly come the influence of the autumn which is less than summer because of the gradual change of the climate to study field, and the drop of the temperature and the increased of humidity especially inside the soil as well as the reduction of the wind speed. The spring season came thirdly because of the similar characterizes with autumn, since they are transitional seasons between summer and winter, whereas winter is the less season of issuing falling dust due to maximum drop of temperature degree and the increase of humidity.10 - Locations like ( AL - BATHAA, SOUTH OF AL - NASSRIA CITY, SOQ AL - SHIUOKH) had witnessed the high scored amount of the falling dust through the observatory seasons, because of the direct connection with provinces like (AL - MUTHANA and AL - QADISYA), moreover it represents the sediment place for the dusty storms that come from the neighboring countries.11 - The amount of the falling dust was reduced during the observative mothes at the southern, south - east and, the eastern parts of the study field due to the vast size of the marshes and pools or the big distance of the agricultural lands in places like ( AL - TAR, GARMAT BENY SAEED, AL - AKEEKA, AL - FHOOD, URE, AL - HAMMAR, AL - DAWAYA, SAYED DIKHEEL, AL - ISLAAH, and AL - CHIPAYESH) in addition to its distance of the northern and north - west parts.12 - The amount of the falling rain increased during autumn and winter and the beginning of spring and there were to high scores to the rain fall, the first was at winter in (December) (81) mm, the other one was at spring in (march) (75.8)mm, and that is connected with the meteoric subdued, which is responsible of the rain fall on the study field. While during (February and may) there was aridity which reduce the soil humidity.13 - The concentration of the chemical elements was sort of close between the observative seasons, but the difference lies between the variation of places.Concerning lead and cadmium, their percentage is stable during the seasons of the year except in spring there was increase in the lead level in comparing with the rest of seasons.Whereas the iron scores the highest concentration in comparing with the other chemical elements, due to the dusty storms which brought it from the neighboring countries, causing this increase in its level which was stable between the seasons. While (nickel and copper)have almost the same level at over the four seasons of observation and (nickel) witness decrease in its level during spring in comparing with the other seasons.Uranium have no existence in any place, which means that it is the only element that stable value during the hole period of observation, and to be existed it needs to a measuring process for a location that indured a military a tack.14 - The level of chemical elements especially (lead and cadmium) in the centre of suburbs and regions which have big population, which increase the size of contaminators which produced through using the transportation media or burning the trash. The rest of the elements varied in their concentration from location to another.15 - The value of the hydrogenic (s) of the falling rain water (pH) within the ecologic acceptable limits, hence, between the less value scored in (AL - SHATTRA) during (march) (4.9) to the highest value scored (November) (7.6), the first value is much more acidic while the other is close to be even. The reason behind the increase of the acidic or base level due the amount of the contaminators in the air, from gases or vapor, didn’t reach to the risky environment stage.

Being aware of the new educational developments abroad , the Iraqi educationalists made their attempt to introduce the communicative approach to TEEL classes in Iraq starting with Book I as early as the fifth - year stage of the primary school. Hence , this study aims at evaluating this attempt to show the point of strength and weaknesses of Rafidain English Course for Iraq ( RECI ).Aims of study This study aims at the following : 1 - Constructing a tool for evaluating RECI including the objectives , Content , Methods of teaching , Evaluation , teaching aids and technicalities of the textbook.2 - Applying this tool to show the points of strength and weakness in RECI according to the viewpoints of the RECI teachers. 3 - Identifying the statistically significant differences m the teachers' responses with reference to the variable of experience.Limits of study. The sample of this study is a number of REC! teachers m the governorate Basrah during the academic year ( 2004 - 2005 ). Procedures f study. To carry out the aims of this study, the research worker has constructeda tool of measurement and made many steps as follows : a - A questionnaire has been distributed to arrive the field of the RECI according to the viewpoints of supemisors and specialists of syllabus writing and methods of teaching. The responses of those concerned with the subject under investigation the following fields have been chosen : Objective Methods of teaching, Content. Teaching aids, Accompanying activities, Evaluation, and Technicalities of Textbook writing. b - In the light of the relevant literature , 180 items have been written and distributed over the seven fields mentioned in (a) above.c - The items have been shown to a number of specialists in education , psychology , Counseling , Guidance , and Methods of Teaching English. Three items have been deleted as a result of this step.d - A five - point scale has been development for the pilot study which has \ covered 400 teachers of the both sexes. 108 responses have been found to be worth statistical analysis making use of the mean and standard deviation to arrive at the power of discrimination for each test item with reference to the upper 108 items and lower 108 ones after deleting 21 item which were a failure. Hence , the total number of items under investigation has been limited to 157.100 teachers of both sexes have been given the questionnaire to judge the content validity of the items by applying Pearson's correlation oefficient. Here seven items were deleted technically.f. The 150 - item questionnaire was applied again by giving it to 50 t chers of both sexes a fortnight later. Comparing both responses , the e~earcher arrived at the reliability of 0.928.01 arrive at the second aim , this 150 - item questionnaire was given to 216 a¢hers of both sexes to calculate the item relative significance by applying t 1 : orrect mean and percent weight.By applying Qui Square technique the researcher has proved that there astatistically significant difference between the responses of the two groups of teachers ; namely , those of more experience and those of less experience. The difference is in favour of the former group. In the light of the conclusions arrived at above , the research worker Irecommends the following : 1 - The teaching of REC! should be a task of those graduates of teachers Training Institutes or Colleges of Teachers. 2 - Teachers' awareness of the necessity of covering all the units should be increased though frequent discussion sessions and seminars to prepare learners for the next educational stage.3 - Supervisors and other specialists should attend training courses aboard. 4 - Training teachers of English continuously to master new technicalities such the computer and modern audio - visual aids.5 - Providing sclmol teachers with all basic audio - visual aids. 6 - Encouraging school teachers to have competitions and workshops to transfer the effect of training to wider social situations outside school environment.

Abstract: The present study aims at constructing a valid and reliable scale for 'the measurement of sixth - year elementary school pupils' environmental i awareness. The study is limited to sixth year elementary school pupils both males and females in the province of Basrah. The scale was constructed according to Likeli's method because it gives different I alternatives to pupils so they can choose the most suitable one. In constructing the preliminary version of the scale, the researcher has conducted a questionnaire which was distributed among 80 pupils. Forty males and 40 females of the sixth elementary grade. They were from four schools; two for boys and two for girls. The researcher has obtained some items according to the responses of those pupils. Other items were added according to the review of literature. In addition to the textbook of the sixth elementary grade. The researcher, accordingly, has obtained 87 items which were stated by using suitable and simple words and phrases that fit the status of the pupils. The answer to the items is by choosing yes or no.The face validity of the scale was achieved by giving the scale to 13 referees specialized in education, psychology and other disciplines. After considering their comments in about 75% and more, 38 items were excluded while 49 remained for the agreement of those referees on them. After some modifications like blending and changing, the final result was 52 items. Then, the items were given to a language advisor to make sure of their grammaticality. In order to make sure of the instructions for the responses, the scale was administered to a random sample of 80 pupils of both sexes. lt ''as found that all the items were clear to them. The scale then was administered to a random sample of 445 pupils who represent the subjects of the study to check the distinguishing power of the items. Forty - five answer sheets were excluded because the responses were not complete. That's \vhy only 400 sheets were subjecJed to statistical analysis. The scores were arranged from the highest score to the lowest. 27% of the highest scores and 27% of the lowest scores were tested. The scores of the highest group were between 51 and 52. The scores of the lowest group were between 7 and 43. The t - test was used to measure the significant difference between the two groups. The SPSS was used. The items were measured at a level of significance which is 0.05. The t value of the items of the scale was between 3.483 and 13.395 and they are all higher than the t critical value which is 1.99 at a degree of freedom 107 and a level of significance 0.05.Thus, the scale still consists of 52 items. The reliability of the scale was measured by the test and retes~ technique. It was given to a sample of 40 male and female pupils of th sixth grade elementary school in the centre of Basrash. After 14 days, the.scale was given to the same sample and the reliability value was 0.603 which a suitable reliability value. When counting the standard error of the scale, it was found 0.120 that is a marginal one because of the reliable value of the scale. The study has arrived at constructing a scale for the measurement of the environmental awareness in sixth - year elementary school pupils according Likert's method. This scale is valid and reliable. It consists of 52 items which are answered by either yes or no. One core goes to the answer by yes and nil goes to the answer by no. The final score represents the total of the alternatives of all the items. The researcher has arrived at certain recommendations and suggestions. The result of the study could be useful for the treatment of the environmental problems and the interest in the environmental issues. Environmental education should be added to the items of the curriculum of all the stages. Environment societies and associations should be established. The scale could be applied to the same grade of students but in other different areas of the country. Other scales should be constructed to other grades all over the country.

Abstract: Teaching Arabic grammar is a source of an educational problem for it is a common claim that learners at all levels have not developed grammatical skills that that can be of good help to them in their speech and writing. Moreover, certain learners have even hated Arabic as a school subject due to the difficulties that face them while studying Arabic grammar. It is hypothesized that grammatical problems can be overcome through conducting more and more well - planned practical drills that should be paid their due attention on the part of teachers of Arabic. Though the primary school syllabus introduces Arabic grammar in the second half of the primary stage, there is still certain need to improve these drill to make them match with educational classroom conditions to lead to a better understanding of Arabic grammar. The research worker tries to answer these questions 1n relation to the problem of the present study.1 - What is the significance of language drills in teaching Arabic grammar?2 - What are the pros and cons of the language drills available in the present syllabus of the primary stage?3 - Is there any effect of these drills included in the books of the stage mentioned above on the learning and teaching Arabic grammar? This study aims at identifying the following : I - The significance of language drills in relation to teaching Arabic grammar at the primary educational stage.2 - Positive and negative aspects of the language drills included in primary school books.3 - The effect of language drills on the achievement of primary school children of the last three school years in Arabic grammar.Limits of Study1 - The first sample is limited to 120 male and female primary school teachers of Arabic who teach fourth, fifth and sixth - year classes.2 - The second sample consists of 218 male and female primary school children from the fourth, fifth and sixthyear classes.3 - The third sample consists of 30 primary schools for boys and primary schools for girls.4 - The spatial domain is the centre of the govemorate of Bas rah.5 - The temporal domain is the second tenn of the school year 2003 - 2004.6 - Certain topics are selected from the prescribed Arabic grammar book (Edition No.14) taught to fifth - year learners. These topics are subject, predicate, defective verbs, semi - verb particles, dual forms of noun, and regular plural forms for males. A) 1. All samples have been chosen at random. 2.158 subjects are schoolchildren taken from both Shaheed Mohammad Bakir Al - Sadr Primary School for Boys and Basra Primary School for Girls. Other 60 subjects have been taken from both Zahawi Primary School for Boys and Zaytooneh Primary School for Girls.(B) Two types of data collection have been used here. They are a questionnaire and an achievement test. The sample of school children has been divided. into two groups : a ( C ) control group of 78 subjects and an experimental group of 80 subjects. The latter group has been taught using training drills whereas the former one has been the same material but without any training drills. Statistical procedures followed in this study are five : 1. Percentage factor.2. Pearson's correlation coefficient.3. Item power discrimination.4. Item difficulty formula.5. At - test for two independent samplesTraining drills have been proved to be of statisticalsignificance for the following reasons : a - They make Arabic grammar more comprehensible.b - They help learners memorize grammatical rules and increase their linguistic knowledge.c - They can serve as a means by which teachers point out the points of weakness and difficulties face their pupils.2. The scores obtained from the achievement test have shown that training drills have a positive effect to the extent that the achievement of the experimental group has been statistically more significant. This effect has been almost the same on subjects of both sexes

Abstract: Environmental studies have gained great interest after a great deal of warning by international organizations. The ecological system is a matrix of integrated interactions within a specific environment. To know the properties of each element in this system is very important to keep the balance of.the ecological system and to rationally deal with these elements to avoid any deterioration.,~ Changing the essence of these elements quantitatively and qualitatively leads to a disturbance of relations between the elements of the system which is called the ecological imbalance.Man has played an important role in making ecological problems which lead to the destruction of the environment that decreases the reproducibility of the earth. The population explosion 1s one main factor behind the environmental deterioration so rapidly. Also, the negative aspects of the industrial revolution and the absence of the environmental planning are good factors. Man was able to manipulate nature for his benefit without paying attention to the severe consequences of this maltreatment. In this case education plays a crucial role to correct human behavior and provide him with the necessary skills. Environmental awareness could be a good course in and out of school. Aims of the studyThe study aims at the following : 1. Constructing an environmental awareness scale in the students of the departments of geography in Iraq.2. Applying this scale on the targeted students.3. Whether or not there are statistically significant difference concerning the scale.4. Whether or not there are significant differences according to the 1 sex factor.5. Whether or not there are significant differences according the subjects achievement.6. Whether or not there are significant differences according to the environment variable. 7. Whether or not there are significant differences according to the college variable.Limitations of the study : The study is limited to the follovving : 1. Department of Geography - colleges of Arts and Education - Universities of Baghdad, Al - Mustansiriya, Basrah, Mosul and Kufa.2. Curriculum related to the environment. sample of : A.
