Abstract:
Ibin Hemmad Al Adewi is one of the great figures of the fourth Hegira century and one of Basrah scientists. He is considered one of poetry publisher. His verse is loyal to the family of the prophet (p.b.u.t.). the current thesis dealt with his verse under the title (Ibin Hemmad Al Adewi's Verse : A Study in the Subject and Art).The thesis consisted of six chapters preceded by introduction and preface, and followed by conclusion. Concerning the preface, it consisted of two parts. The first tackled a general idea about the situation in Iraq during the fourth hegira century while the second part dealt with aspects of the poet's life and culture. The objective study was divided into two sections. The first comprised eulogy and what relates to the family of the prophet's (p.b.u.t.) laudation and elegiac which includes lamentation of the family of the prophet's (p.b.u.t.).The second chapter was devoted to other poetic purposes, that is pride, satire, complaint, and wisdom. The artistic study was distributed as follows and according to the chapters series in the study. So, third chapter concerned with the artistic construction, that is, constructing the traditional dialogue poem ( poems with introduction) and the ideological which concerns his ideological tendencies towards the family of the prophet's (p.b.u.t.). other introductions comprise complaint, wisdom, and a single erotic introduction of an elegiac poem. The poet expresses his sufferings, pains, feelings, and emotions by these introductions as well as his abilities to attract the listener's attention and to prepare him to receive the main topic, in addition to the conclusion, thus, conclusions were in harmony with the subject nature. Fourth chapter came to discuss poetic language; it was of two sections. The first comprises vocabularies. They are vocabularies of doctrine, proper nouns, sadness, time, place, war, and peace.Constructing was taught in the second section such as interrogative with all its categories, imperative, vocative, negation, and emphasis that refer to attractive meanings in his poetic text. These increase rhythm with fascinating music. Fifth chapter was about the artistic image. It has two sections. The first comprises means of image formation particularly the rhetoric image ( simile with all its types, metaphor with its two types : implicit and explicit, metonymy with all its types : attributed, described, and relative). These images add shining colors of the beautiful music that evoke inspiration and urge the listener to listen and enjoy the poet's verse. Second section had two subsections. The first was the sensory image ( optical, acoustic, tactile, and gustatory, whereas the researcher could not find the olfactory image in the divan). The second comprises the single and compound image.Six chapter discussed rhythm.it was divided into two sections. The first was the external rhythm that contains meters, measures : perfect, long, simple, abundant, absolute, restricted, and rhyme faults. The second section, internal rhythm included repetition, inlaying, rotating, turning second hemistich to the first hemistich, and alliteration that increase musical harmony.Concerning the end was about the conclusion. The researcher depended on a long list of references and resources to complete the study. Some of them were literary, critical, linguistic, historical, philosophical, dictionaries, and university theses and dissertations.
