إن مشكلة الحصول على المياه العذبة أمر بالغ الأهمية لحياة البشرية. على الرغم من وجود العديد من التقنيات التقليدية لتنقية المياه المالحة، إلا أن معظمها باهظ الثمن ويتطلب استهلاك الطاقة. وكنتيجة لذلك، تم استخدام تقنيات الطاقة المتجددة، وخاصة الطاقة الشمسية، عن طريق منظومات التحلية الشمسية. لكن العيب الرئيسي لهذا المنظومات هو الضعف الشديد في الإنتاجية لأن نظام التحلية لا يستطيع العمل لمدة يوم كامل بسبب غياب الشمس. ولذلك، تم إجراء العديد من الأبحاث النظرية والتجريبية لتعزيز كفاءة إنتاج المقطرات الشمسية.
يدرس العمل الحالي أداء جهاز تقطير شمسي نشط أحادي المنحدر وحوض واحد باستخدام نظام الاسترجاع الحرارة المطرودة الى الهواء الجوي ومضرة للبيئة. مصدر الحرارة المهدورة هو الهواء الساخن المطروح من مكثف وحدة تكييف الهواء إلى الهواء الجوي. تم تصميم وحدة الاسترجاع الحراري من نوعين من المبادلات الحرارية. المبادل الحراري الأول عبارة عن مشعاع (راديتر) يتم وضعه مباشرة أمام فتحة تدفق الهواء الساخن والخارج من مكثف وحدة تكييف الهواء. أما النوع الثاني من المبادلات الحرارية فهو عبارة عن ملف أحادي المسار، وهو ملتصق بسطح قاعدة الحوض الشمسي لتحلية المياه بالطاقة الشمسية. وتقوم مضخة الفع من النوع الغشائي بتوصيل هذين المبادلين الحراريين لتدوير المياه العاملة من المشعاع إلى حوض التحلية والعودة مرة أخرى للتسخين بمعدل تدفق (0.0225 كجم / ثانية).
وتم تقدير النتائج النظرية والتجريبية حسب الظروف المناخية لمدينة الناصرية الواقعة في جنوب شرق العراق خلال في الصيف. تم استخدام برنامج الماتلاب لتقدير الإنتاجية النظرية ومقارنتها بالنتائج العملية.
تم إجراء الاختبارات عمليا، وتم تقسيم يوم العمل إلى النهار والليل. خلال النهار، كان المصدر الوحيد للحرارة لمنظومة التقطير الشمسي هو الإشعاع الشمسي (الحالة 1)، بينما طوال الليل، كان مصدر الحرارة الوحيد هو وحدة الاسترجاع الحراري المهدورالى المحيط (الحالة 2).
وقد وجد أن النتائج التجريبية للإنتاجية الساعية والتراكمية أفضل من النتائج النظرية لأن الكثافة الشمسية المقاسة عمليا أعلى من الكثافة النظرية. لذلك، فإن تفوق شدة الإشعاع الشمسي المقاسة على النظرية أدى إلى ارتفاع درجة حرارة المياه المالحة المقاسة عن قيمتها المقدرة نظريا.
خلال فترة النهار فقد لوحظ أن الإنتاجية تزداد مع ارتفاع كثافة الطاقة الشمسية وسرعة الرياح. وللفترة من (06:00 إلى 18:00) بلغت الإنتاجية التراكمية القصوى (5.148 كغم\نهاراً) بسبب الإشعاع الشمسي.
أما خلال فترة الليل، وجد أن نواتج التقطير تزداد مع ارتفاع كمية الحرارة المهدورة. للفترة من (19:00 إلى 06:00) فقد بلغت أعلى إنتاجية تراكمية (1.398 كغم\ليلاً) بسبب الإشعاع الشمسي.
ونتيجة لذلك تذبذب التحسن في الإنتاجية من (19.53 %) إلى (25.06 %)، وذلك بفضل نظام استرداد الحرارة.
كما تم مناقشة تأثير أداء مكيف الهواء قبل وبعد تركيب وحدة استعادة الحرارة. ولوحظ أن استهلاك الطاقة الكهربائية لنظام التكييف بعد تركيب وحدة استرجاع الحرارة ارتفع من (2410.92 واط) إلى (2559.66 واط). ويعود سبب هذه الزيادة في الاستهلاك إلى ارتفاع التيار من (10.72 أمبير) إلى (11.75 أمبير).
مما سبب انخفاض معدل معامل أداء التكييف (COP) من (3.0506) إلى (2.7956) بنسبة انخفاض تصل إلى (8.359%).
