Abstract:
This thesis consists of three chapter studied the analysis and main method to estimated of natural material which extracted from some plant (tannic acid) importance material used in water pollution treatment with heavy metals by using high performance liquid chromatographic method. In addition to spectroscopic methods such as (UV - Vis, FT - IR, FAAS,) to estimated complexes formed between metal ions with tannic acid.Chapter one : It contains the pollution, pollution type, pollution source, and aquatic environment pollution by heavy metals especially (Cr, Fe, Cu, Cd, Pb) that transportation to water and its influence on the human. It studied tannic acid structure and chemical - physical properties, its reaction with heavy metals. Finally, review of the literary survey of the addition study the aim of this study.Chapter Two : It includes instruments and the chemical material and chemical solution and how to preparation of starting materials, and primary expremental for Spectrophotometric determination study of reagent and heavy metals, and their formed complexes. From it. Then studied ratio between the reagent and heavy metals, studied reaction constant with mole ratio method and studied who relevancy in the effect of the interference that influences in this complexes stability, and optimium condition of the interaction terms were calculated in tables.Chapter three : Determination of tannic acid was described in this chapter using( HPLC). The analysis was achieved by C18 column (250 mm x 4.6 mm i.d., 5µm particle size) at room temperature the mobile phase used use methanol, deionized water in the ratio (30 : 70) (V : V). the flow rate was set to 1.0 ml.min - 1 and the retention time (6.348) min with UV. Detecter at 265 nm. Beers law is obyed over the concentration range (0.005 - 0.02) µg.ml - 1. The method was accurate (relative error % is less than %), precise (RSD better than ±1.28 %), with 0.26 µg.ml - 1 LOD and LOQ respectively. The method was successfully applied to the determination of tannic acid in its plant extractions. The research includes the reaction between the tannic acid (ragent) with metal ions. The λ max absorption for tannic acid was found 281 nm, and the complexes formed between it and metal ions Cr(III), Fe(III), Cu(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) were found (601, 589, 612, 364, 372) nm respectively. Also the optimum conditions for the reaction of these metal ions with the reagent were employed, such as the volume of reagent solution,In order of addition and effectives of PH.The calibration curves oh these complexes were constructed Beers law was obeyed in the range (2 - 8) µ/ml with a correlation coefficient of (r= 0.9991), (0.9990), (0.9992), (0.9991), (0,9993), and molar absorptivity Ԑ)=(3873.709),(5779.95),(7561.974),(7913.9),(4434.08) L.mol - 1.cm - 1. And sandell sensitivity were (0.013), (0.001), (0.011), (0.014), (0.047) µg. cm - 2.The stoichiometry of the formed complexes between metals and tannic acid was investigated by mole ratio method, the ratio (M : L) was (3 : 1), (3 : 1), (2 : 1), (2 : 1), (2 : 1), at pH = (7), (5), (4), (8), (6).The stability constant (Kst) for these complexes was equal to (Kst = (5.949*104),(5.391*105), (1.938*105), (1.461*105), (1.065*105)L2.mol - 2, for (Cr - TA), Fe - TA), (Cu - TA), (Cd - TA), (Pb - TA), respectively.Precition and accuracy of the analytical procedure was showed for (Cr, Fe, Cu, Cd, Pb), and that RSD%(0.41,0.38,0.26,0.33,1.05), and Erel% (0.7,1.8,1.12,1.09,0.85), for concentration (2 - 8) ppm. The interference of metal of metal ions in the presence. The physical properties of precipitants were studied through the establishment of melting point, solubility and molar conductivity as well as the measurement of FT - IR, with the suggestion of structural formula of the formed complexes with the reagent (tannic acid). The method was applied for the determination of the content of heavy metals in standard solution and in indisteral water samples.
