Abstract: In the current study, samples of algae have been collecting from( Springs , Streams and Rivulets)including in northern of Iraq (the area on the Iraqi - Iranian and Turkish borders, and from the middle in the areas of (Tarmiya and Alabegi) several races of used algae in biofuels such as : Scendesmus spp , S . quadricouda , S . Dimorphus,Chroococcus sp. ,Chlorococcum humicola , Microcystsp. , Asterococcus sp. ,Chlorella sp , Oscillotoriasp. , Anabena sp , Nostoc. sp. , Ankistrodesmus falcatus.diagnosed , were isolated and prepared pure cultures of Asterococcus sp. , S dimorphus, C.humicola and were selected three culture medium (BG11, Chu13, Chu10)for culturing and development of these algae under controlling conditions (2 ± 25 ° C, intensity of illumination 3000 Lux and 8 : 16 light : darkness system).Experiments include three axes, the first representing the study of the influence of media - type and installed in curves and growth rates (K) and doubling time(G) and estimate the biomass of the tested algae, in addition to monitoring the effectiveness of the quality of the medium in the chemical content of algae and of (total of lipids, proteins, carbohydrates content and fatty acids). A second include the treatment are (remove nitrogen from the media, addition NaCl with 2 g.l - 1, addition of vitamins mixture (B1, B6, B12) in the following concentrations (0. 1, 0.1, 0. 01) mg .l - 1, respectively and change the current speed (as a mixing factor) of 400 and 850 l. h - 1). Third axis include the efficiency of the Photobioreactor system test (Tubular Photobioreactor named( I.TH.1) designed by a researchers for the purpose of comparison between culturing in bottles and the possibility of the application of expandingproduction in the reactor system of 120 liters, for testing C. humicola in Chu13media.The results showed that the highest growth rate recorded in BG11 for Asterococcus sp, was 0.343 cells . day - 1 depending on the absorbance values at of 650 nm wavelength, while the highest rate depending on the number of cells scored in Chu13 after the addition of vitamins mixture for C.humicola was 1.16 cells .day - 1, while the lowest growth rate(K) scored in Asterococcus sp, In Chu10 after the removal of nitrogen and reached 0.04 cells . day - 1, as less doubled time(G) scored when Chu13 after the addition of NaCl to Asterococcus sp, and reached 1.12 day depending on the absorbance values, while less doubling time(G) was relying on the number of cells in C.humicola in Chu13 after the addition of vitamins and amounted to 0.257day.The highest doubled time(G)13.7 and 15.05 day was scored in BG11 after removing N2 form culture medium of Asterococcus sp, depending on the absorbance values and the number of cells respectively. The highest biomass value recorded at Asterococcus sp with current speed 400 l.h - 1 and amounted to 0.724 mg .g - 1 dry weight, while the less biomass0.203 mg.g - 1 dry weight at the same algal after the addition of NaCl to Chu10 .The highest value of total lipids recorded at removing nitrogen from the Chu13 inS.dimorphus amounted 320.8 mg . g - 1 (dry weight) while it was less than at the C.humicola in control. As Chu10 recorded the highest percentage of total lipids was registered at S.dimorphus in BG11 after removing nitrogen and stood at 81.48%. The lowest percentage was registered with C.humicola in Chu10 amounted to 32.49%.The highest amount of total proteins , when Asterococcus sp developed at current speed of 400 l . h - 1 in Chu13 amounted to 299.7 mg . g - 1 (dry weight), while the least value was registered at S.dimorphus amounted to 8.9 mg . g - 1 in BG11 - free of nitrogen. While recorded the highest percentage of total proteins when Asterococcus sp, after the addition of NaCl to BG11media and amounted to 51.17%, while the lowest percentage was registered to the same alga after removing nitrogen from the BG11 and amounted to 5.7%.Results prepared that the highest amount of total carbohydrates, was recorded in the S.dimorphus when the velocity of 400 l . h - 1 and amounted to 63.09 mg . g - 1 (dry weight), and the least amount was registered in Asterococcus sp in Chu10 after the addition of vitamins. While the highest percentage recorded for carbohydrates in S.dimorphus in control BG11 reached 41.67%,and the lowest percentage was in Asterococcus sp at Chu10 after the addition of a mixture of vitamins and stood at 4.65% .When the follow - up impact of the transactions used in the experiments in quality and quantity of fatty acid (Luric, Palmetic, Stearic, Lionoleic, α - liolenic, Oleic, Archidic, DHA), we find that the the final concentrations have varied significantly, recorded acids Luric, Palmetic, Stearic higher concentrations when Asterococcus sp. In Chu13 after the addition of NaCl first and, second and was 46.7, 381.27 mg . l - 1, respectively, while the acid Stearic amounted to 117.0 mg . l - 1 after removing nitrogen from BG11. While α - linoleic, Linoleic asid recorded the highest amount it reached 188.3, 22.7mg.l - 1 when Chu10 after the addition of vitamins and at the speed of 400 l . h - 1, respectively, for Asterococcus sp, As Oleic, Archidic, DHA acids recorded the highest amount in C.humicola amounted to 125.08, 131.8,175.65 mg .l - 1 , at the current speed of 400 l . h - 1 in the first and second acides, when BG11 after removing nitrogen, DHA acid,as in terms of percentages acids, we find that the current study showed the highest percentage of Linoleic, Luric amounted to 39.69, 84.9% at the control Chu10 and Chu13 after treatment with vitamins respectively in Asterococcus sp.While DHA Oleic, α - linoleic, Stearic acids recorded highest percentage reached to 43.39, 44.25, 46.71, 46.85%, respectively, in S.dimorphus in BG11control , after treatment with vitamins to Chu10and after the addition NaCl toBG11respectively . As Archidic, Palmetic acids recorded the highest percentage in C.humicola amounted to 28.42, 62.6%, respectively, in BG11control and the speed 850 l . h - 1.the highest amount of saturated fatty acids S.F.A recorded in Asterococcus sp. and it amounted to 951.7 mg . l - 1 after the addition NaCl to Chu13 .The highest percentage was registered at the same alga 92.5% in Chu13control. Current studie also recorded the highest amount of unsaturated fatty acid U.F.A recorded in Asterococcus sp. and it amounted to 488.2 mg .l - 1 when adding vitamins to Chu10, while the highest percentage recorded in S.dimorphus amounted to 91.79% when adding NaCl to BG11.I n applying the experience of the test reactor, the photobioreactor of 120 liters and choosing alga C.humicola inChu13 and 400 l .h - 1, we find that the system I.TH.1 has given the results and the differences were not significant in terms of impact on growth rates and the doubling time of replication when compared with the first and second controls(Chu13 represent first control sized 150 ml and the process to shake once a day and the second control mixing factor 400 l . h - 1 in 3 - liter size). In terms of the impact of I.TH.1 on the biomass it has increased significantly when the first control while non - significant differences were recorded for the second control at the level of probability (P≤ 0.05) either when the effect in the chemical content of the total of studied alga, we find it recorded 199.6, 200.5, 198.2 mg . g - 1 of total lipids and 218.5, 214.3, 185.9 mg . g - 1 of total proteins and 147.7, 165.1, 143.2 mg . g - 1 of total carbohydrates in the first , second control, I.TH.1respectively. These results show no significant differences between the results of I.TH.1 and education in bottles laboratory. either at the level of the quantity and quality of fatty acids, we find that there is variation in the results as recorded all the fatty acid was significantly higher for the first control except Luric acid which disappeared from the second control and I.TH.1 , while there was a significant decrease in α - Liolenic, Olice, Archidic acids. While I.TH.I recorded an increase in Palmetic, Linolic, DHA acids compared with the second control, with the advent of acidic Myrestic and Stiric in the system and the disappearance in two controls, That shows the importance of the use of these bioreactors in the biofuel production studys.

Abstract: The current study was conducted in five selected positions variety of human activities along the agricultural project named (Beat zwana River) located in Jadedat - alshat, within the province of Diyala, for the period from October 2013 until June 2014, the study included measurement of twenty - two physiochemical factors of river water environment, as well as to study the quality and quantity of community phytoplankton, has also been applied in the study a number of environmental indexes. The range of studied properties were : 10.83 - 38.75°C and 9.17 - 28.5°C for air and water temperature, water depth (16.50 - 284.33 cm), light penetration (14.50 - 152cm) , turbidity (0.27 - 106.98) NTU, electrical conductivity, EC,(514.83 - 1027.5) μS/cm , salinity (1.15 - 4.88 part per thousand), total dissolved solids, TDS (287.83 - 861.6) mg/l and total suspended solids TSS (2 - 49.87) mg/l, pH (6.25 - 7.98), dissolved oxygen, DO (3.65 - 11.25)mg/l and Biological Oxygen Demand. BOD5 (1.07 - 4.35) mg /l, total alkalinity, TA (115.33 - 178.5 ) mg /l, total hardness, TH ( 221.83 - 338.83) mg/l, Calcium, Ca (52.08 - 101.36) mg CaCO3/l, and Magnesium ,Mg (74.62 - 177.89) mg CaCO3 /l, Nitrate NO3(1.55 - 6.55) mg /l, effective phosphate PO4 (0.02 - 4.16) mg/l, Sulfate, SO4 (131.5 - 283) mg/l ,effective Silicate (4 - 2.10) mg/l, , Chlorophyll - a, ( 0.12 - 28.02) and Phaeophytin - a, (0.85 - 25.93). mg/l, respectively. Results of the present study showed that most of the studied characteristics and private (Salinity, EC, TH, PO4, BOD5, Turbidity, TDS , Ca and Mg) were of an influential or higher rates when comparing the permissible limits environmentally overall used properties of water for irrigation or aquaculture or for human consumption, according to recommendations of WHO, FAO Organization, as well as the Iraqi specifications for the river water, which shows that human activities in the region significant effect on water and environment of project. The number of phytoplankton algae that have been diagnosed in this study reached 200 species belong to 72 genera, within nine classes of the following basic algae Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Euglenophyceae, Raphidophyceae, Dinophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Xanthophyceae, and Cryptophyceae. The diatoms algae formed the largest percentage, as record them 131 species belong to 28 genus, and consisting 65.5%, followed by chlorophyceae 30 species belonging to 22 genus and 15%, then Cyanophyceae,22 species, to 10 genus and 11%, followed by algae Euglenophyceae 8 species belonging to 3 genus and 4%, then Cryptophyceae 3species ,to 3 genus and 1.5%, while all of the Xanthophyceae and Dinophyceae recorded 2species belonging to 2 genus and 1%, and finally the Chrysophyceae and Raphidophyceae, found them 1 species belong to 1 genus and 0.5%. Also the results showed that the distribution and biodiversity of diagnosed phytoplankton at the level of the sites, It was found that there is different for each classes from the ranks of the algae, as recorded presence in the first site 90 species belonging to 43 genus, and at the site - 2, 50 and 35 genus, and in site - 3, 68 species and 38 genus, 66 species belonging to 38 genus in site - 4, while presence 127 species belonging to 45 genus at site - 5.The quantitative study of phytoplankton in the lower and the higher ranges at the five sites ( S1, S2, S3,S4 and S5) of the study area respectively recorded the following values, (1780 - 7246 , 300 - 8180 , 220 - 2950, 560 - 3020 and 540 - 6860 cells /ml, and rates generally each site respectively, as well as 2923.6, 2027.0, 871.1, 1344.4 and 2324.6 cells/ml. when comparing the amount of algae that have been counted, we find that the highest 2923.6 rate cells/ml scored St - 1 and less than the rate of 871.1 cells/ml record in S3.In the current study we were able to record six new genus and species after checking with (Checklist of algal flora in Iraq, 2014) and consisted of these algae to : Westella linearis G. M. Smith, Navicula goppertiama Bourrelly .1981, Oedogonium minus (Wittr.) Witrock 1875. Gonyostomum seme Geitler,Gomphoniuma capitum. Bourrelly .1981, Phcus tourus (lemm.) skvortzow 1928.Also in the current study, many ecological indices were used and represented as follows : Richens index (Marglef index (1968), Similarity index (Sorenson index - 1942), Difference index (Bray and Curtis index, 1957), Presence index depended on (Chandler, 1970) and Shannon Weaver index for diversity, To evaluate the relationship between the sites and the quantity and quality of algae studied and water quality. The highest value for richness 16.246, recorded ta S5 and the highest value of the similarity 0.849 was between S1 and S5, the highest value of the difference 0.491 recorded among of S4 and S5, the highest amount of the presence of his record genus Navicula spp from pennales diatoms, feather at the level of individuals in the sample, as recorded following him to the species N. goppertiana and N. cryptocephala 3200 and 2356 cell/ml in October and November in 2013, while the highest value of diversity 1.878, by Shannon Weaver index recorded in S4. This gives an indication of the variation in the quality of water and nutrients and a physiochemical factors that lead to growth provides supportive conditions andthe spread of some species and a specific one for some of phytoplankton during the months of the year and different locations. On the basis of diversity index values, that was between 1.03 - 1.878 as less and higher, can be considered waters of the five sites between light pollution to medium pollution, and classified all within the second water category according (Wilhm guide - 1975). And this gives a conclusion no matter what the view that the water agricultural project environment (Beat - Zwana River) may be directly affected by human activities practiced by the population as well as other environmental impacts experienced by the entire region from various external and internal factors pollutants.

Abstract: تناولت الدراسة الحالية الخصائص البيئية المؤثرة على الطحالب الملتصقة على النباتات المائية في مبزل الفرات الشرقي (الحفار) في الديوانية - العراق, اذ شملت الدراسة قياس بعض الخصائص الفيزيائية والكيميائية لمياه المبزل والخصائص الاحيائية التي تضمنت دراسة كمية ون | The present study tackles ecological characteristics which is effected of Epiphytic algae in east Euphrates drainage (AL - Haffar) in AL - Diwaniya, This study included the measurement some of physical and chemical characteristics of drainage water, and biological characteristics which includes studying quality and quantity of Epiphytic, Three aquatic plants Ceratophyllum demersum, Phragmits australis, and Imperata cylindrical had been selected, Samples collected monthly during The period from November 2012 to October 2013.Three location have been chosen, the first is near AL - Abtan village, Second is after the first location five kilometers, while the third location is after the Second about seven kilometers. The study shows that the temperature of the air is about (7 - 39c) and water temperature is approximately (10 - 33c), while light penetration is about (10.5 - 63cm) the flow speed is (0.25 - 0.68 M/Sec), Water turbidity is (40.02 - 63.03 NTU), while Electrical conductivity is approximately about (3014 - 3964 Sc/cm). The results of the study shows that the water drainage Oligohaline, the salinity values ranged from (1.92 - 2.53‰), the total (T.D.S) is about (1741 - 2226 mg/l), while the T.S.S. is about (41 - 67 mg/l). The result of this study shows that the pH is limited Through all the period of the study (6.98 - 8.18), The drainage water get good airing dissolved oxygen values are(6.71 - 8.14 mg/l), biological oxygen demand are (2.05 - 5.23mg/l) and carbon dioxide values are about (81.50 - 119.57mg/l).The results of this study also show about that drain water is alkaline and belonged to bicarbonate ions, total alkaline is (140.28 - (189.27 mg/l) It is discovered that the drain water is too hard, hardness values are (512.15 - 612.45mg/l), while Calcium concentrations are (128.36 - 173.40mg/l) and Magnesium concentrations are (30.31 - 50.09 mg/l). Plant nutrients, N concentrations are about (0. 98 - 3.99 µg/l) of Nitrit, Nitrate concentrations are (216 - 415 µg/l) and Phosphate concentrations are about (0.9 - 2.92 µg/l), and The percentage of total organic carbon in the residues is(0.59 - 0. 17) %. The total number of epiphytic algae types which are diagnosed during study period reaches to 320 species belongs to 86 genera within 7 classes They are Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Euglenophyceae Xanthophyceae, Dinophycea eand Rhodophyceae, Bacillariophyceae obtaints the dominion which reach to (183) species of Bacillariophyceae. It makes rate (57.19%).Than Chlorophyceae came concerning types number 68 species in rate (21.25%) , Following by Cyanophyceae 53 species in rate 16.56%. Euglenophyceae are 10 species in rate (3.13%).Xanthophyceae is represented in two species belong to2 genera. It makes proportion (0.63%) , Dinophyceae which represented in 3 species belonged to 3 genera in rate (0.94 %) and Rhodophyceae represented in one species and one genera in rate (0. 3%) of total number of algae.Class of the Bacillariophyceae, during study period were Navicula وNitzschia وCymbella وSynedra وAchnanthes, genera of Oscillatoria and genera of, Scenedesmus manifest that highest number of available types during the period of study. It has note that there are numbers of the monthly and located changes in total number of epiphytic algae on host plants.was varied in months and locations due to the host plants. Ceratophyllum demersum marks the Highest total number of epiphytic algae 172.89× 104 individual/ gm of wet weight in third location during April. Imperata cylindrica marks the lowest total number of epiphytic algae 3.51×104 individual/ gm of wet weight in scecond location during January, The total number of epiphytic on host plants ranges between (175.39 - 668.6) ×104 individual/ gm of wet weigh. The total number of main epiphytic algae classes is varied in total number of epiphytic algae.Bacillariophyceae diatoms composed 81.02%, in all locations during the study period, followed by Cyanophyceae composed 9.7%, while Chlorophyceae composed 8.6%.Euglenophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Dinophyceae and Rhodophyceae, were not important concerning their number. Statistical analysis results show there are significant differences between locations and months of study in relation to physical, chemical and biological features. Also there are connected correlations positive and negative between epiphytic algae and physical, chemical and biological features that measured during the study period of probability level of P<0.05.
