Abstract: In this work, new derivatives of 1,2,4 triazole were prepared as ligands, in an attempt to show the effect of introducing the two drugs in the triazole ring, as well as to investigate the coordination behavior of the new derivatives toward number of transition metal ions by preparing new complexes and to compare the biological activity of the ligands and their complexes . The prepared complexes were used to enhance the photo stabilization of (PS) and (PVC). The ligands (4 - amino - 5 - (2 - (2,3 - dimethylphenyl)aminophnyl) - 1,2,4 - triazole - 3 - thion (LI) and (4 - amino - 5 - (2 - (6 - methoxynaphthalen - 2 - yl)piperidino) - 1,2,4 - triazole - 3 - thion (LII) were prepared by cyclization the drug in ethanol solution, the products were isolated and fully characterized by appropriate physical measurements, i. e., FT - IR,UV,GC - mass and 1H,13C N.M.R spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis (C.H.N.S).The new (LI and LII) have been used to prepare number of new complexes with the selected metal ions [Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II)]. All the new prepared complexes have been isolated, characterized and studied in solid state by studying their physicochemical and analytical properties such as elemental analysis (C.H.N.S), flame atomic absorption, FT - IR and UV - Vis. Spectra, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements at room temperature. Number of structural phenomena has been revealed during the study of the new complexes, it was found that (LI and LII) coordinated to the metal ion as uninagative bidentate ligands through the nitrogen atom of the amine group and sulfer atom in the thione group. The results showed that all metal ions complexes were found in [1 : 2] [M : LI or LII] ratio. The following geometrical with the metal ion showed octahedral geometry shape of Ni(II) and Co(II) except the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes gave tetrahedral geometry while Cu(II) complexes had square planer shape. Also, the study includes calculating Racah and other ligand field parameters by using the appropriate Tanaba - Sugano diagrams, the results helped to illustrate the bounding nature between metal ion and donor atoms of the ligands. Also (LI and LII) were used to enhance the photostabilization Polymer. Polymer has been mixed with these complexes in solvent which containing of complex 0.5 % by weight, which produced by the casting method from chloroform solvent. The photostabilization of polymer films were studied at room temperature under irradiation of light λ=365and 313 nm wave length with intensity 7.75*10 - 9 Ein dm - 3 S - 1 .The photostabilization activity of these compounds was determined by monitoring the carbonyl (ICO),polyene(IPO) and hydroxyl (IOH) indexes, weight loss method with irradiation time. It was found that the (ICO) (IPO) and (IOH) indexes values increased with irradiation time and this increase depend on the type of additives. The surface morphology for these films was studied during irradiation time. The changes in viscosity average molecular weight of polymer with irradiation time were also tracked (using chloroform and Tetrahydrofuran as a solvent). The work also includes a theoretical treatment of the formation of mono and mixed ligand complexes in the gas phase, this was done using (HyperChem.8) program for the molecular mechanics and semi - empirical calculations. The heat of formation (ΔHof) and binding energy (ΔEb) for all free ligands (LI and LII) and their complexes were calculated by PM3 method at 298 Ko. Furthermore the electrostatic potential of the free ligands (LI and LII) were calculated to investigate the reactive sites of the molecules. PM3 was used to evaluate the vibration spectra of the free ligands (LI and LII) and their complexes, and comparing the theoretically calculated wave numbers with the experimented values. The theoretically obtained frequencies agreed well with those found experimentally, in addition, calculations helped to assign unambiguously the most diagnostic bands. As well as bond length for free ligands (LI and LII) and their complexes were calculated by using PM3 method.The antibacterial activity for all ligands ( LI and LII) and their complexes were studied against two selected micro - organisms (Escherichia coil ) and(Staphylococcus aureus) , the minimal inhibitory concentration ( MIC ) were also studied to determine the low concentration for inhibition , two antibiotics ( Ampicillin and Amoxicillin) have been chosen to compare their activity with those of the new compounds . The results showed higher activity of the new compounds relative to the chosen antibiotics. Furthermore the antifungl activity against two micro - organisms (penicillum Spp and Aspergillus flavus) was studied for all prepared compounds. The results showed great enhancement of activity of the all complexes relative to that of their respective ligands. This was attributed to the synergetic effect between the metal ion and the ligands, in addition to the differences in the structural varieties. As well as, study the effect of ligands (LI and LII) and their metal complexes toward activity of two type of enzymes (GOT and GPT).

Lactic acid has been prepared from some locally available carbohydrate sources which are renewable and environmentally friendly2. Lactic acid was polymerized by ring opening polymerization (ROP).3. Glycolic acid and glycolide have been prepared on laboratory scale.4. A copolymer consists of lactic acid and glycolic acid was also prepared by two routes direct condensation and ring opening polymerization. 5. Stannous octoate as a catalyst was also prepared on laboratory scale.6. Several advanced techniques were used to confirm the above prepared chemicals, IR, UV, HNMR, and DTG. 7. Since the present study depends on carbohydrates rather than petroleum on and require very limited chemical processes and chemical solvents for their preparation besides they have very promising applications in various applying fields therefore we hope the result of this study will encourage other studies related to this study will be conducted in the future.
