Abstract: ان مشكلة التمييز العنصري ليست بالظاهرة الحديثة , فهي مشكلة جدلية مستمرة على مر التاريخ , مفادها الحكم على الافراد استنادا الى عرقهم ؛ مما يؤدي الى حرمانهم من الحصول على الحقوق المتساوية في ظل المجتمع الواحد . وهنالك العديد من العناصر الهامة التي تلعب دورا اساسيا في تعزيز ظاهرة التمييز العنصري داخل المجتمع منها : العرق ولون البشرة والتمييز الطبقي والدين واهمها الجندر - الجنوسة - الذي هو اساس هذه الدراسة .وعلى الرغم من الادعاء بخلو الولايات المتحدة من ظاهرة التمييز العنصري الا انه في الحقيقة هناك تمييز واضح ضد الاشخاص الملونين ولاسيما المنحدرين من اصول افريقية , اذ ان لون بشرتهم الداكن يعرضهم لكذا نوع من التمييز من قبل الامريكيين البيض .ترمي الدراسة الحالية الى مناقشة موضوعة التمييز العنصري بخاصة التمييز المبني على الجنوسة اذ تناولت الدراسة ثلاث كاتبات امريكيات سوداوات من اصول افريقية وهن زورا نيل هورستون (1891 - 1960) واليس تشيلدرز (1920 - 1992) وسوزان لوري باركس (1963 - ). ولانها دراسة مبنية على الجنوسة , كان التركيز فيها على الدور الذي تضطلع به الجنوسة في تعميق اثر هذا التمييز على النساء. تتالف الرسالة من اربعة فصول وخاتمة , ينقسم الفصل الاول على مبحثين , يتناول الاول منهما مقدمة عن التمييز العنصري تناقش اهم الاسباب التي ادت الى نشوء التمييز العنصري عامة , مع بيان تداعيات هذه الاسباب وابعادها , معززة ذلك بجملة من الاراء والنظريات النقدية التي ركزت على هذه الظاهرة , في حين ركز المبحث الثاني على مشكلة التمييز ضد النساء واسبابها ومشكلاتها والاسباب التي جعلت الجنوسة العامل الاول في هكذا نوع من التمييز. يسلط الفصل الثاني الضوء على مشكلة الحكم على الافراد استنادا الى لون بشرتهم في مسرحية عمى الالوان للكاتبة زورا نيل هورستون , حيث ينقسم الفصل على مبحثين استعرض الاول منهما ظاهرة التمييز المبني على الجنوسة في حياة واعمال الكاتبة , وتاثير هذه الظاهرة في مجتمعها . بينما يتناول المبحث الثاني محنة سيدة شابة تعاني من عقدة الشعور بالنقص بسبب الاستياء من لون بشرتها الذي يؤدي الى تدمير حياتها.يناقش الفصل الثالث مشكلة التمييز ضد النساء في مجال العمل في مسرحية فلورنس للكاتبة اليس تشيلدرز , اذ ينقسم الفصل الى مبحثين يناقش الاول منهما حياة الكاتبة الادبية ورحلة معاناتها الشخصية في المسرح الامريكي , اما المبحث الثاني فقد تناول العقبات التي واجهتها فلورنس - بطلة المسرحية - في سعيها لتحقيق حلمها بالتمثيل على المسرح مع كونها امراة سوداء .في حين تناول الفصل الرابع مشكلة التمييز ضد النساء السوداوات المشردات في مسرحية في الدم للكاتبة المعاصرة سوزان لوري باركس . اذ ينقسم الفصل على مبحثين , يسلط الاول منهما الضوء على حياة الكاتبة الادبية وسعيها الدءوب في معالجة مشكلة التمييز ضد النساء السوداوات , بينما يستعرض المبحث الثاني التهميش والمعاملة السيئة التي تتعرض لها سيدة سوداء من قبل الافراد والمؤسسات في مسرحية في الدم. وتضمنت الرسالة خاتمة تبين اهم النتائج التي توصلت اليها هذه الدراسة | Racial discrimination is not a new phenomenon. In fact, it is one of the most discussed topics nowadays and throughout history . Discrimination means the denial of opportunity or equal rights for a specific group of people. It is usually based on a number of factors such as race, color of skin, social class, religion and more important, for the purpose of this study, gender. Although claims to equality are being made in the United States of America, there are still instances in which racial discrimination is practiced against Afro - Americans just because they look different from the dominating white. The present study aims at discussing racial discrimination as a concept and practice in three plays written by three major Afro - American female playwrights. They are Zora Neale Hurston (1891 - 1960), Alice Childress (1920 - 1994), and Suzan - Lori Parks (1963 - ) . Since it is a gender - based study, a special attention is given to the status of the Afro - American women who suffer doubly because of their race and gender. They are victims of either traditional patriarchal practices which reinforce unequal power relations between men and women or racial discrimination which is based upon cultural, social and gendered aspects. The study comprises four chapters and a conclusion . Chapter one forms the introduction to the study. It presents an overall view of gender - based racial discrimination in America. It looks at what is needed for a basic understanding of what discrimination is about. It is divided into two sections. Section one discusses the concepts of racism and discrimination and the ways in which these two concepts are dealt with and reflected in the public discourse and everyday life. Section two deals with the origins, causes and results of racial discrimination against Afro - American women. The section makes it clear that gender plays a central role in this type of discrimination. Chapter two sheds light on the problem of colorism and its effects on women of color in Hurston Color Struck (1926). It is divided into two sections. While section one looks into Hurston’s life and writings, section two deals with the dilemma of Emma, a black young lady, whose deep color - consciousness leads to an inferiority complex which undermines her own life and future.Chapter three discusses the theme of gender - based racial discrimination in Childress’ Florence(1949) It is divided into two main sections. Section one deals with Childress’ journey and status in the American theater, and section two tackles the problem of gender - based racial discrimination in the theatre itself. Childress' play reveals the difficulties that black actresses face when trying to find work in the white - dominated theatrical world and challenges ideas about what should constitute a suitable career for Afro - American women.Chapter four explains the ill - treatment and the negligence a poor black woman receives from both society and its representative institutions. Parks’ In the Blood(1999) provides us with an example of a gender - based racial discrimination practiced against Hester, a homeless, black, and an illiterate mother of five fatherless children who is oppressed by the very institutions created to provide care and compassion to the poor. The study ends up with a conclusion that sums up the findings of the study.
