Abstract:
Taking care of city services and shedding the light on them as the urban growth basis of the city is the responsibility of the geographer, through the study and analysis of the distribution pattern of those services and the manifestation of how they can be developed within the light of the city geographic variables, for the provision of these services efficiently contributes in forming a healthy and sound environment to the city through which the man practices his daily activities which in turn reflects on the development and progress of the city and the fulfillment of welfare to man.The present study searches in (The Spatial Analysis of Infrastructure Services at Al - Karrada District Using GIS), so that it identifies the study problem with the search in infrastructure services using one of the modern geographic research techniques represented by the technique of geographic information systems (GIS). The study hypotheses were laid according to the problem of low level of infrastructure services to the population of Al - Karrada district through establishing a base for geographic data which may contribute in overcoming the problems of the decline of those services in what achieves - cdeliveringthe best services to the population in addition to the researcher's endeavor to define the pattern of service distribution by taking the best decisions to provide the infrastructure services at the study area.Al - Karrada district was selected as a study area for being one of the important urban districts in Baghdad city which saw an increase in population and subsequently an increase in demand on infrastructure services which necessitates the need to shed the light on them and study them in terms of service, thus the researcher focused on the study of infrastructure services by knowing their impact on the population, depending on the field study of the study area and matching the infrastructure services available in it with the population need of these services and their compliance to the reliable standards.The study concluded that there was a deficiency and a shortage in delivering the services, their insufficiency to the population, their incompliance to the reliable standards and their misdistribution which entailed the study to put a collection of solutions to treat this deficiency in the infrastructure services and develop them.
