Abstract:
This study, is an anthropological study on the subject of time, or more precisely in the cultural account of time (cultural reckoning of time) When Kuffa society, in the province of Najaf. In explaining how to calculate and measure this community for units of time, and what are the cultural and natural factors affecting the calculation time. And the impact on the practice of their effectiveness and daily behaviors. But before that I have tried to study, to deal with some anthropological studies of the subject of the calculation of time, such as studying, Bransliwo Malinowski (1884 - 1942), and Evans - Pritchard (1902 - 1973), as well as the study of Clifford Geertz (1926 - 2006). In addition, they addressed some time studies, and in the human sciences different : such as philosophy, psychology, and sociology. One of the main conclusions of the study, is that the community, and under some of the cultural and natural conditions, the weave or configure verses and means of calculation of time to be private so only society. The fact that the concept of time, or the arithmetic mean of the time. However, the convergence of those involved or cultural conditions, natural between that community and other communities, often claiming to adopt the calculation of time similar mechanisms. The study also concluded that the Kuffa society, does not support time account for the expense and time only, but there are other goals, aims behind this community, such as conservation of the cultural components, or install the identity (religious, especially the ones), through the repetition of their account, and repeat it to tack historical events (time) mission in its history. The study also noted to, that just as there is the importance of measuring time through the formation time and its units, as well as constitute a (specific time) other important, sometimes outweigh the time the account (quantitative). This is reflected in the religious account, and a popular time of the study community
