Abstract:
نظرا لاهمية دور الام في العائلة والمجتمع ككل, فقد تناول العديد من كتاب المسرح والنقاد دور الام,وعلاقتها بابنائها. تعد علاقة الام بالطفل في اي ثقافة علاقة واحدة من اكثر العلاقات غموضا وتعقيدا.ان التغيرات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والسياسية في اواخر القرن التاسع عشر وبداية القرن العشرين قد اثرت بشكل كبير على دور الام وعلاقتها بابنائها وكذلك استقرار العائلة ووحدتها. تعد الام مركز ومحور الاسرة لذا فقد صور العديد من الكتاب المسرحيين تاثير هذه التغيرات على دور الام في العائلة. وقد تناول الكتاب المسرحييون الحياة الاجتماعية ومعاناة العائلة ليرفعوا الوعي لدى الجمهور المسرحي ليعوا مشاكلهم الاجتماعية ليجعلوهم واعين لمشاكلهم.لقد تناول الكتاب المسرحيون مثل جورج برنارد شو, برتولتبرخت ووتينسي وليامز تاثير النظام الراسمالي, الحرب والفقر على الام وعائلتها. فقد قام كل كاتب برسم معاناة الام واطفالها وهي تحاول البقاء على قيد الحياة تحت ظروف اجتماعية واقتصادية مزرية.تهتم الدراسة بشكل رئيسي بتحليل شخصية الام في ثلاث مسرحيات حديثة : مسرحية شو مهنة السيدة وارن (1893), ومسرحية برخت الام الشجاعة وابنائها (1941), ومسرحية وليامز اللعب الزجاجية (1944).تقسم الرسالة على اربعة فصول وخاتمة. يعد الفصل الاول مقدمة لهذه الرسالة ويتفرع الى اربعة مباحث .يركز المبحث الاول على التعاريف المهمة ودور الام. يشرح المبحث الثاني المنظور التاريخي للمراة والام. يركز المبحث الثالث على الخلفية الاجتماعية. اما المبحث الرابع يركز على الام في الاعمال المسرحية.يقسم الفصل الثاني على مبحثين. يقدم المبحث الاول حياة شو واعماله. يناقش المبحث الثاني مسرحية شو مهنة السيدة وارن. ينتقد شو النظام الراسمالي ويشجب امراض المجتمع والاوضاع السيئة التي تؤثر على معيشة الام وابنتها.يقسم الفصل الثالث على مبحثين : يقدم المبحث الاول حياة وليامز ككاتب مسرحي وانسان. يرسم المبحث الثاني صورة متجهمة لعائلة امريكية افرادها يعانون الاوضاع الصعبة للكساد الاقتصادي في مسرحية وليامز اللعب الزجاجية. يعكس وليامز صورة الام في المجتمع الامريكي في العصر الحديث.يقسم الفصل الرابع على مبحثين. يهتم المبحث الاول بحياة برخت وافكاره. يناقش المبحث الثاني مسرحية برخت الام الشجاعة وابنائها التي تصور قصة ام وابنائها الثلاث. تستفيد الام من الحرب كمصدر رزق لها. بين الكاتب بان الحرب نظام راسمالي ساحق. تلخص الخاتمة النتائج التي توصلت اليها هذه الدراسة. | Due to the significance of the role of mother in the family and the whole society, many playwrights and critics tackle the theme of the mother's role and her relationship with her children. In any culture the mother - child relationship is one of the most mysterious and complex relationships.The economic, social and the political changes in the late nineteenth - century and early twentieth - century have enormous impact on the role of the mother and her relationships with her children, and the stability of the family and its unity. The mother is the essential and the pivot of the family; hence many dramatists depict the effect of these changes on mother's role and her family. They depict social life and the suffering of the family to raise the consciousness of the audience to make them aware of their problems.The playwrights such as George Bernard Shaw, Bertolt Brecht and Tennessee Williams explore the effect of capitalism, war, poverty on the mother 's role and her family. Each playwright depicts a mother who attempts to survive with her children under powerful social and economic forces.The study is mainly concerned with the analysis of the character of the mother and her role in shaping the life of her children in selected modern plays : Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession (1893), Brecht's Mother Courage and her Children (1941), and Williams' The Glass Menagerie (1944).The study is divided into four chapters and a conclusion. Chapter one serves as an introduction to this thesis which is subdivided into four sections. Section one centers around the definitions and the role of mother. Section two discusses the statues of women during the centuries. Section three is concerned with the social background, and the economic, social and political changes during the late nineteenth and the early twentieth century. Section four centers around the mother in dramatic works. Chapter Two is divided into two sections. Section one presents Shaw's life and his works. Section two discusses Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession. Shaw criticizes capitalism and condemns the ills of the society and the bad conditions that affect the mother and her daughter's living. Chapter Three is divided into two sections. Section one presents Williams as a playwright and a man. Section two depicts a grim picture of an American family whose member suffer the hard situation of the great depression in Williams' The Glass Menagerie. Williams reflects the picture of the mother in the American society in modern age.Chapter Four is divided into two sections. Section one is concerned with Brecht's life and frame of mind. Section two is devoted to discussing Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children which depicts a story of a mother and her three children. The mother benefits from war as her breadwinner. Brecht explores war as part of capitalist practices, which affect the mother’s relationship with her children. The conclusion sums up the findings of the study.
