Abstract:
A cross - sectional study included seventy patients who clinically diagnosed positive viral hepatitis with age ranged between 14 - 61 years old from both sexes, 37 males and 33 females, within a period from November 2015 to March 2016. Blood and urine samples were collected from each subject who was attendant in Merjan Teaching Hospital in Babylon province. Twenty apparently healthy negative for viral hepatitis subjects were involved in this work as control. All specimens (blood and urine) were subjected to identify the aerobic bacterial types associated with viral hepatitis by biochemical and serological tests. The results showed that 28.57% of blood specimens and 62.8% of urine specimens were positive for bacterial growth of both Gram - positive and Gram - negative, whereas 71.43% of blood specimens and 37.2% of urine specimens were negative growth. The predominant bacteria were Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. The results revealed that the immunecompromised patients are more susceptible to bacterial infection.Identification of two isolates of rare bacteria (Kocuria kristinae and Rothia dentecariosa) from viral hepatitis patients by vitek technique.Detection of immunoglobulin’s IgM and IgG specific to Helicobacter pylori by using Enzyme - linked immunosorbent assay technique revealed a high prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with liver diseases. The results of immune measurement of cytokine profile interferon - γ by using Enzyme - linked immunosorbent assay technique and complement components C3 and C4 by using Single Radial Immuno - diffusion test were no significant differences in comparison to healthy control
