Abstract:
The present study deals with the cultural references of the pioneers' poems like Badr shakir Al_ Sayyab, Nazik Al - Mal 'ika, Abdul wahab Al - Bayyati, Bland Al - Haideri traditional poems, as an attempt to find out their importance which neglected by many, Indeed, their traditional poetry represented as the starting point of the modernism of poetry. Such a modernism is not just for the form ,i.e. to change from the rhyme and rhythm, that is being as the lasted aspect in regarding of other invented things by those pioneers in the traditional poetry to include within the field of modernism which included the cultural references. The references adopted by the present study are Arabic and foreign references among them ; romanticism, ideologies and political ideas from Marxism, nationalism and existence, the religious and historical references, social references among them myths , folklore. The study presents an introduction to show the initials of the poetical modernism movement in Iraq which are shown in two factors ; the effects of coming culture ; foreign and Arabic and the changes of Iraq culture
