Abstract: يستخلص من بحثنا الموسوم تعرض الجمهور لبرامج المسابقات وعلاقته بالمعرفة "دراسة مسحية على طلبة الجامعات العراقية" ان اهميته تتمثل بوظيفته بالاكتساب المعرفي للمعلومات، وندرة الدراسات الاعلامية المتخصصة في هذا الموضوع، ويهدف البحث الى التعرف على الافكار العلم | Competitions programs and the cognitive topics related to is the subject that the researcher dealt with in his study of public competitions and their relation with cognitive informatics since it is relevant to several issues that may enhance the interest of culture, knowledge and informatics to develop and educate the community in research and the academic field. The researcher focused on information from its educational side such as TV programs, among other jobs, means of communication, noting that many researchers have dealt with the individual’s exposure to TV for long periods and how to use this media to promote culture in society in general as well as the fact that many university students are exposed to cultural programs that might contribute in raising their cultural level and increase the knowledge of the recipient. The researcher shed light on focusing on the details and the tasks of the television programs in education since the scarcity of such media studies in the Arab world, but as the result of increasing Iraqi and Arabic satellite channels, there is a need to address these competitions in many Arabic programs that coincide with the tendencies of the students. The researcher thinks that the points of view of the public plays an important role in media, so we have to emphasize the study of their views concerning satellite stations, namely cultural competitions in order to gain a clear picture of their nature, quality so as to reach at the study. In the first chapter the researcher defined the methodological framework where he addressed the question that concern all those concerned with education and entertainment, what is the extent of information knowledge achieved by TV competitions programs? Also the researcher defined the importance, objectives, limitation of his study, as well as the previous studies relevant. The second chapter dealt with the theoretical framework including exposure topic, its mechanisms, patterns, definitions, how to attract audience, the most distinguished characteristics of the success of TV programs, namely competitions. The third chapter included three themes : knowledge, informatics and competitions programs. The fourth chapter included the procedures that the researcher undertook including a questionnaire presented to 400 students of university of Baghdad in various humanities and scientific specializations which is an intended sample that is in line with the study requirements in addition to analysis of Millionaire program displayed on the Egyptian channel (Al Hayat). The fifth chapter included the findings that resulted in the study objectives, their explanation and the questions that the students responded to that can be summarized as follows : 1 - The means adopted in programs to achieve cognitive acquisition by audience.2 - Types of knowledge and information acquired through competitions programs.3 - The nature of competitions programs preferred by students.The sixth chapter dealt with some conclusions and recommendations while at end of the study there is a bibliography and an abstract in English
