Abstract:
Grain moth Sitotroga cerealella(Olivier) is considered as one of the world wide - spread pest that causing damage to the grain and its products either in the field or in the warehouses . . The sensitivity of Sitotroga cerealella egg is carried out to UV rays at genetic control Department l integrated pest management center / Agricultural Research Directorate / Ministry of Scinence and Technology. The study showed that semi cooked wheat media gave the highest rate of adults emergenc ( 82.00%) from hatched eggs . This media considered as the best medium for rearing the mentioned insect for successive generation .The effect of different tempreture degrees were also studied on the insect biology , the best degree to rear this pest was 30CO because recording the highest average of egg laying which was .5% . +80 of relative humidity 106.6 at The study also showed that the continuing usage of the UV rays has caused consumption of the tube .This explains the differences in the results compared with other researchers results for using the same wave length . . The study also showed that the eggs at age two days is more sensitive to the UV than the other age old of the insect . Besides this there was an effect of the UV rays on the egg hatch where exposure 7.5 min . The the at the time of % .3330the least was UV rays also effected the rate of the emergence of adult males & females ( 0.00% ) at the time of exposure 5 minAs for the UV rays effect on the male & female age lifespan , there was a little effect on the males and showed low decreases , While on the females , There was an increases in the lifespan with average (9.0 days) at exposure time of 2.5 min . While there was decreases in the female lifespan with average 4.5% at exposure time 3 min .The results also showed that the UV rays with wave length of 312 nm has more effect on the biological parametes of the grain moth from the wave length of 365 nm for this pest. The effect of the wave length 312 nm on the different mating ofthe adults emerged from irradiated eggs at 48 hr old were conducted .The results showed that 2 min exposure caused complet sterility to males while 1.5 min caused complet sterility to femaleAlso the study showed that sex ratio was divated for males upen the emergence of femal in same case of the adulte mating. Resulte from irradiated egg at 312 . The appereance of male after mating ( normal female * irradiated male ) ( irradiated female * normal male ) ( irradiated male & female) were ( 100.0 , 80.0 , 72.5 ) respectively at radiation time ( 1.5 mn ) from the other hand . There were clear decrease in femal population as compared with the abov ratio after tadiate the same time and wave length femal were ratio ( 27.5 , 20.0 , 00.0 % ) respectively .
