Abstract:
The current research aims to verify the impact of the Stepanz model to modify wrong understanding of the physical concepts when students fourth grade science and their social intelligence. The researcher formulated the two following zero hypotheses for purpose of verification of the aim of the research : 1 - There is a not statistically difference is significant at the level of significance (.0.5) between the average scores of the experimental group students who are studying using the Stepanz model and between the average scores of the control group students who are studying in the usual way in the diagnosis test of the wrong understanding of the physical concepts. 2 - There is a not statistically difference is significant at the level of significance (.0.5) between the average scores of the experimental group students who are studying using the Stepanz model and between the average scores of the control group students who are studying in the usual way in social intelligence scale. The researcher chose a sample for his consideration students of grade forth Scientific in junior high Alfaruq of The first breeding Karkh Directorate, has identified the pilot divisions and control group randomly by lot, as the number of students reached in divisions (55) student after excluding students Alraspat and by (22) student to experimental and (22) student of the officer, and for determining the content of scientific material has identified chapters VI, VII, VIII, IX and X of the fourth book of physics and scientific - grade second semester. equivalence were conducted for the following two variables (age students in months and the degree of the previous achievement in physics and the degree of the previous achievement in mathematics and the previous test information and test misconception and scale social) intelligence. The researcher used two tools to achieve the purposes of research and two (test misconception) and be one of the (51) paragraph in its final form and scale of social intelligence and be one of the (4.) as the final paragraph. Researcher following statistical methods were used to arrive at the results of his research (samples t - test for two independent samples is equal, and the coefficient of difficulty,and the coefficient of discrimination paragraphs and the equation of the effectiveness of the wrong alternatives to paragraphs test misconception, and Pearson correlation coefficient, and the equation Spearman - Brown, Alpha Cronbach the equation, and the equation of effect size). The search procedure has two phases : 1. The first phase of the diagnostic : it applied the researcher tested the wrong understanding of the concepts was a number of misconceptions (12) concept of experimental and (11) a concept of an officer of the asset (12) is selected concept exceeded error where the proportion (343) are distributed between Chapters VI, VII, VIII, IX and the tenth book of Physics fourth grade science. 2. The second phase of treatment : the applied research procedures on the two groups, the researcher has studied by Stepanz model the experimental group, while the control group studied the usual way. The researcher reached to the following results : 1. there is a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups for students in the fourth grade scientific diagnostic test for the wrong understanding of the concepts physical and in favor of the experimental group. 2. there is a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups for students in the fourth grade scientific measure of social intelligence and in favor of the experimental group. Accordingly the researcher reached to following conclusions according to the results of research : 1. The use and application of a Stepanz model in teaching physics fourth grade science have an impact in the amendment misconception which is owned by students in physics. 2. The use and application of the Stepanz model in physics teaching fourth grade science have an impact in raising and improving the degree of social intelligence of students. Accordingly, the researcher has developed a number of recommendations and suggestions for the use of Stepanz model in other studies in other stages and in other scientific materials and a sample of other research.
