المستخلص: The nano particles of iron oxides were prepared using photolysis method. Three ferric complexes were used as a precursor, K3[Fe(C2O4)3.3H2O], Fe(acac)3 and Na2[Fe(EDTA)].3H2O to prepare iron oxide nanoparticles and these complexes characterized by FTIR and melting point. After photolysis complexes and calcination it salts at different temperature and conditions the observed iron oxide samples were characterized by XRD to determine phase.The (SEM) and (AFM) were used to study the morphology of the samples and determined the particle size of the samples calcined at 200ºC, 400ºC, 500 ºC and 600 ºC. The minimum average diameter obtained for ( - Fe2O3) sample that prepared from calcined Fe(acac)2 and other samples below 100 nm but above 100nm (in micron size) when samples prepared from direct calcined of complexes at 200ºCand 400ºC. - Fe2O3 nanoparticles characterized by UV - visible absorption spectroscopy to determine the band gap. The samples give red shift according to increase particle size.
