Abstract: The present work aims to asses some certain cytokines (adiponectin and IL - 10) in relation to thyroid function in serum and saliva of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF), those maintained on hemodialysis (HD) in compared with health subjects. The study is performed on 44 patients with CRF aged 18 - 75 years, with Mean ±SD, 45.63±16.0 (24 male and 20 female) at 4 and 5 stages undergoing HD treatment for (2 - 36) months, attending ALHYAT center in AL - Krama Hospital in Baghdad and is compared with that of control group of 44 health individuals aged 19 - 75 years, with Mean ±SD, 40.75±15.56 (24 male and 20 female) who matched their age and gender. The search of new parameters that affected it and vice versa is still an interesting field of research, especially if the parameters were studied in saliva instead of serum. Recent works have been directed toward the salivary changes associated with this general systemic disturbance. The present study spots the light on the role of volume and subsequently pH of saliva, it concluded that SFR had significant decreased and the pH increased (slightly basic) in compared with healthy group. Also this study shows abnormal significant high levels of urea, creatinine, uric acid, inorganic phosphorus, ALP, glucose; while GFR and calcium had abnormal significant low levels in serum of CRF patients as compared with normal individuals. Beside that lipid profile compared between both groups which are as follow : In the case of CRF, there is a dyslipidemia with maximum impact on the level of HDL - C with a very significant decrease. The level of total cholesterol is significantly decreased, that of triglycerides is increased, level of LDL is increased, level of VLDL is decreased and the atherogenic factors (TC/HDL - C and LDL - C/HDL - C) are significantly increased. Furthermore, the protein profile for CRF indicated that the totalVprotein is decreased in total and male groups, while it is higher in female, as compared with control. The level of albumin is significantly decreased, that of globulin is increased, level of α1 - Antitrypsin is decreased, while fluctuation is seen in α2 - Macroglobulin. The C3 and C4 complement proteins are decrease significantly in both of them. The current study also shows that the adiponectin level is significantly higher in serum and saliva of CRF patients, and the results showed that male serum adiponectin was lower than female in CRF patients. The level of IL - 10 is significantly higher in serum and no significance in saliva, and the results show that the male serum IL - 10 is higher in CRF patients and control than female. This confirms and extends previous findings of inverse relationship between IL - 10 and renal function. The results also showed a not significant decrease in the level of serum and saliva T4; while in T3, the level was decreased significantly in serum and not significantly in saliva. The salivary TSH level was increased not significantly, while serum TSH value was only slightly increased with not significantly as compared with control. Also, the results of the correlation between (α1 - Antitrypsin, α2 - Macroglobulin, C3, C4, adiponectin, IL - 10) and different parameters of (total, male, female) CRF were studied in serum and with (adiponectin, IL - 10) in saliva. The second part of this study included a synthesized of metals nanoparticles (NPs) directly by pulsed laser ablation (Nd : YAG, λ=1064nm) of gold, silver, bismuth and tellurium plates immersed in pure water. Concentrations of the NPs were determined by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy AAS measurement. Atomic Force Microscope AFM and Transmission Electron Microscope TEM analysis were used to characterize the size and size distributions of the metals NPs. The objective of this work is to study the effects of the presence of these NPs on the levels of T3 hormone in serum and saliva of patients with CRF their thyroid hadVIdisorder (hypothyroidism). Also, the study characterized the binding between the anti - T3 antibody with its antigen i.e., TR3R in serum and saliva patients in the presence affixed size concentration of NPs to improve and modify a competitive ELISA method. It is found that AuNPs, AgNPs, BiR2ROR3RNPs and TeNPs demonstrated different effects (activation or inhibition) on the binding between anti - T3 antibody and antigen (T3) in serum and saliva of CRF patients and these effects were depending on the increasing of the concentrations and the size for each NPs. Optimization of experimental conditions for the binding in the serum and saliva were studied in presence of both AuNPs and AgNPs.Further experiments will be necessary to determine the possible toxicity of such NPs (especially newly prepaid BiR2ROR3RNPs and TeNPs) to analyze their potential use in humans and more accurate analytical procedures should be developed in order to use these NPs in biomedical applications, such as the treatment and follow up by adjustment the levels of thyroid hormones of patients suffered from thyroid disorder.
