ترجع اهمية البرلمان الى الوظائف التي يقوم بها اذ يكمن دوره الحقيقي في تمثيل المواطنين بشكل متساو والتعبير عن مصالحهم والمساهمة في حل مشاكلهم ومتابعة الحكومة في اداء واجباتها. وفي مصر تدهورت مكانة البرلمان بعد ثورة 23 يوليو 1952 وجاءت الدساتير بعدها لتجع | The significance of the Parliament lies in its functions. The real role of the parliament is the representation of citizens equally, the expression of their interests, contribution in solving their problems and observing the performance of the Government.
