Abstract:
The references took the attention of scholars in textual linguistic for its distinguished role in the cohesion of the text. For its importance, Halliday and Ruqiyah Hassan in their book Cohesion in English, one of the five considerations which contribute to the consistency of the text. Most of Arab scholars tackle reference as one of the means that contribute to the cohesion or the formal consistency as in the textual of Azher Al - Zinad who dedicated a chapter for the referential links. The attention for the topic of references is a stimulus to search that tackles the topic of reference in the Arabic grammar. My search in the research entitled (References in the Arabic Grammar A study in the Light of the Textual Linguistic). The methodology of study was presented as the following : A Preface entitled The Importance of Junctions for Grammarians, in which I spoke about the junctions. Chapter One is entitled “The References in the Light of Linguistics and Arabic Grammar”. This chapter includes two inquiries the first is the Reference in the Frame of Textual Linguistic; which I tackled the reference for the textualists. The second inquiry is entitled the Reference in The Tradition and Arabic Grammar, in which we tackled the roots of reference in Arabic grammar. Chapter Two us entitled the Reference in Pronoun and Arabic Grammar, which is made in four inquiries;The first inquiry is entitled the Referential of the Pronouns in Arabic Grammar, and the second is about The Reference in the Prefix Pronouns, which tackle the concept of the prefix pronoun.The third inquiry The Reference in the Affixes in which we mentioned the opinions of the grammarians and the Fourth Inquiry tackles The Stable Pronouns. Chapter Three tackles the topic of The Means of Sub - references, which is mad in three inquiries that includes the references of nouns and relative pronouns and the definite (al).The most important finding of the study is that the concept of reference for the grammarians goes back to the roots, and the division of the nouns to definite and indefinite, and known and unknown, the pronouns for the represent the origin of the relation and that the pre reference of the absent pronoun and the constancy of the referential pronouns in Arabic grammar. Some of them are distinguished by the absence of the referential element. The constant reference is prevalent in the pre - and post - references for the grammarian's for the dominance of the organ discourse in the inquiries. They looked at the junction as an element that lacks the link which explains its ambiguity. The pronoun belonging to the sentence of the referential element that links between the relative and the junction. Therefore, it is not possible to omit it
