هذه دراسة بعنوان ( الصوائت القصيرة في العربية - دراسة صوتية صرفية)، تبرز اهمية واثر الصوائت القصيرة في العربية على المستويين الصوتي والصرفي في اللغة العربية، اذ تشكل الصوائت القصيرة مع الصوامت جزئي البناء اللفظي للكلمة في العربية. وقد قمت بتقسيم الموضو | This study entitled as (Short Vowels In Arabic : A Phonetic And Morphological Study) shows the importance and effect of short vowels in Arabic on the levels of Arabic phonetics and morhology; as vowels along with consonants constitute the two basic parts of the phonetic structure of words in Arabic.This study is divided into two units followed by a list of bibliography. Unit one entitled as (The Phonetic Study) is divided into four chapters. Chapter one is entitled as (Short Vowels, Classification , Concept and Term) ; it comprises two sections : the first (Classification and concept) and the second (The Term). Chapter two (The Place of Articulation of Short Vowels, Characteristics and Attributes) is classified into three sections : Section one (The Place of Articulation of Short Vowels), section two(The Characteristics of Short Vowels) and section three (The Attributes of Short Vowels). Chapter three dealt with the theoretical survey of classic and modern linguists for short vowels in two sections. And chapter four treated the structural changes in short vowels in two sections(The Quantative Changes) and (The Qualitative Changes).Unit two tackled (The Morphological Study) and is divided into three chapters. Chapter one handled the effect of short vowels on verb structures. Chapter two dealt with the effect of short vowels on noun structures and chapter three treated the effect of short vowels in constructing single, dual and plural nouns
