Abstract:
This study aims mainly to manifest the problems of providing the societal and basic servicers in Al - Kufa city according to the adopted local planning standards. To achieve this aim the population and constructional growth of Al - Kufa city had been studied, as well as the distribution of societal and infrastructure services on the level of its residential quarters to be evaluated. The descriptive and analytic method is adopted in this study in addition to the field study that includes the institutions responsible for services as well as the mathematic devices, rates of population and the spatial, residential and services gravity center. (GIS) had been used to draw maps and define the residential quarters. The study reveals the retreat of the societal and infrastructure servicers in Al - Kufa in general on the level of its number, efficiency and distribution.The study includes four chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical frame of the study. The second chapter studies the population and constructional growth of Al - Kufa. The distribution and evaluation of the societal service (educational - health) and the infrastructures (drinking water, drainage, electricity service and communication services) had been studied in the third chapter according to the local adopted planning standards. While the fourth chapter focuses on estimating the current and futuristic needs of the societal and infrastructure service in the city till 2025.
