Abstract:
This study has addressed the subject of "Violence in Arab woman stories, Nawal AL - Sadawi as a sample". The research is divided into preface and three chapters. Preface dealt with general view about the concept of violence and its historical roots in civilization.First chapter was under the title of "motives of violence in the literature of Nawal AL - Sadawi". This chapter consisted of two topics, first topic was under the title of socialmotives and addressed the role of education and media in violence.Second topic addressed religious motives and wrong interpretation of the spirit of religions and its essence.Second chapter was under the title of "Patterns of violence" which consisted of two topics, first one dealt with material violence, included physical violence and sexual violence.Second topic included moral violence which include "psychological, symbolic and political violence".Third chapter included fourtopics, first dealt with circumcision, second topic dealt with equality, third dealt with "crimes of honor ". Forth topic dealt with "phenomena minros marriage". I made use of many references in my study such as criticism book "rationality controversial in critical theory of Frankfurt school" by Kamal Abu Khair, guidance of literary critic" lightening of more than seventy trends and terms of writers, Myjan Al - Riweily, Dr. Saad Al - Baziss, besides some psychological books such as : Violence and aggressiveness in psychological analysis "structural reflections" by the writer Dr. Ali Asad Watfa.aThe study concluded with some important results : - Social upbringing and schools has great role in confronting violence against women. Media has an important rolein outbreak of violence which needs changing the mechanism of media.The researcger has reached to an important point that society, religion and politics all consecration and strengthen the concept of violence against women one way or another.
