It is, as modern poets think, so rich with inherent poetic fields that it can get rid of the grip of traditional themes. Modern poets stress the ability of the simple daily life attraction to dominate modern poetry. They develop this conviction to follow the up - to - date progress and express the concerns of wide walks of life used to be neglected by traditional poetry. The study consists of an introduction and four chapters. The introduction deals with the concept of daily life poem linguistically and idiomatically. It discusses as well the numerous terms used to refer to this concept. It presents a critical historical overview discussing some modern and traditional poems in the light of Arabic and western critical views. The first chapter of the study tackles the patterns of daily life poem structuring. It falls into two sections. The first studies the simple patterns (represented in stanzas, imagery poems and thoughts). The second, however, deals with compound patterns (i.e. narrative structures and dramatic structures). The second chapter studies the techniques of daily life poem. It is also of two sections. The first is concerned with the linguistic techniques of daily life poem. It is tackled at three levels : the dictionary of daily life poetry, unusual collocations and prose performance. The second, however, is concerned with imagery techniques. It concentrates on the techniques of intertextuality, informativity and production. The third chapter is dedicated, however, in its two sections to the themes of daily life poem. The first tackles individualistic themes like woman, family and fear; while the second studies social themes like war, daily affairs and class conflict. Finally, the fourth chapter is concerned with the musical structure of daily life poem. It studies in its first section the cadence of rhymed poem and some of the prominent rhyming features like rhythmic shift, rounding, and rhyming. The second section is concerned, however, with the rhythm of blank verse. It tries to highlight some rhythmic feature through studying the phenomena of repetition, parallelism and sight rhythm. The study ends up with a list of the most important conclusions it comes up with.
