Abstract:
بنيت امريكا من قبل المهاجرين الذين جاءوا اليها من مختلف انحاء العالم وفوق عظام السكان الاصليين لها. هكذا موجات من الهجرة وعلى مدى عصور مضت جلبت معها مختلف اللغات والثقافات والاديان والتقاليد على هذه الرقعة من الارض. وبالتالي امريكا اصبحت ارض لمختلف الثقافات حيث يحاول كل عرق من هذه الجماعات اظهار هويته داخل المجتمع السائد. تهدف الرسالة الى دراسة مفهوم الصراع الثقافي في الرواية الامريكية الحديثة المختارة كتبت من قبل الروائيين الامريكيين الذين ينتمون الى ثقافات مختلفة. كل واحد منهم يعرض الصراع الثقافي لمجتمع معين في المجتمع المهيمن. تتكون الدراسة من اربعة فصول وخاتمة.يتكون الفصل الاول من مقدمة وتنقسم الى ثلاثة مباحث. المبحث الاول يدرس الصراع الثقافي في الادب الامريكي للسكان الاصليين حيث يقدم دراسة استقصائية لتاريخ السكان الاصليين وصراعهم مع الامريكيين الاوربيين فيما يخص حقوقهم المشروعة لاظهار هويتهم الثقافية في امريكا. كما يتناول الاعمال الادبية للكتاب الامريكيين الاصليين وردة فعلهم تجاه الصراع مع الامريكيين الاوربيين. بينما يسلط المبحث الثاني الضوء على الخلفية التاريخية للصراع الثقافي بين الامريكيين السود والبيض منذ مطلع القرن السابع عشر حيث استقر السود في امريكا. كما يدرس اعمال الكتاب الامريكيين الافارقة الذين يحاولون من خلال نشر اعمالهم الادبية الحفاظ على تقاليد اسلافهم. المبحث الاخير في هذا الفصل يظهر الصراع الثقافي للامريكيين الدومنيكان في الولايات المتحدة خلال الاعمال الادبية لكتابهم. ويدرس القضايا الثقافية مثل : استيعاب وثنائية اللغة التي واجهت الدومنيكان في المنفى من خلال تقديم اعمال ادبية كبيرة للكتاب الدومنيكان الامريكيين.ينقسم الفصل الثاني الى مبحثين. المبحث الاول هو دراسة السيرة الادبية للمؤلفة الامريكية الاصلية ليزلي مارمون سيلكو (1948 - ) حيث يدرس بالتفصيل تشكيل ذهنية سيلكو ورؤيتها للصراع الثقافي بين الهنود الحمر والامريكيين الاوربيين. يتضمن هذا المبحث ايضا مناقشة عامة للصراع الثقافي من خلال شعر سيلكو وروايتها. يتناول القسم الثاني مفهوم الصراع الثقافي في رواية سيلكو طقس ((1977 حيث تصور الرواية الصراعات الداخلية والخارجية التي يخضع لها الهنود في محاولة لادراك اهمية الارض والفرد في المجتمع الامريكي متعدد الثقافات.يتضمن الفصل الثالث مبحثين. يركز المبحث الاول على سيرة المؤلفة الامريكية الافريقية توني موريسون (1931 - ) يستكشف هذا المبحث التاثيرات على مسيرة موريسون الادبية واعمالها التي تصور مختلف القضايا التي تواجه المجتمع الاسود كالعنصرية والبحث عن الهوية والصراع الثقافي والقهر والعبودية. المبحث الثاني يتناول مفهموم الصراع الثقافي في رواية موريسون طفل القطران. حيث يحلل هذا المبحث الطبقية العنصرية والمجتمعية في امريكا التي كانت عواقبها الصدام بين البيض والسود. كما يتناول الصراع الداخلي في مجتمع السود بين الافراد الذين انغمسوا تماما في مجتمعات البيض, واولئك الذين تمسكوا بشكل قوي لتقاليدهم القيمة.اما الفصل الرابع فينقسم الى مبحثين. المبحث الاول هو دراسة حياة الكاتبة الامريكية ذي الاصول اللاتينية جوليا الفاريز. يكرس القسم الثاني لمناقشة الصراع الثقافي في رواية الفاريز الاولى, كيف فقدن بنات غارسيا لهجاتهن (1991 - ). كما يحلل قضايا ثقافية كثنائية اللغة والاستيعاب وتعدد الهويات حيث يببن تاثير الهجرة على شخصيات الفاريز الانثوية .تنتهي الرسالة بخاتمة تلخص اهم النتائج التي توصلت اليها | America is a country built by immigrants from all over the world over the bones of the indigenous inhabitants. Such waves of immigrations during the centuries ago brought different cultures, languages, religions and traditions on this patch of land. Therefore, America has become the land of conflict among the various cultures where each ethnic group tries to show its cultural identity in the mainstream community. The thesis aims at studying the concept of cultural conflict in selected modern American novels written by American novelists belonging to different cultures. Each one of them presents the cultural conflict of a certain community in the dominant society. The study falls into four chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter is introductory which is subdivided into three sections.. Section one studies the concept of cultural conflict in Native American literature, it presents a survey to the history of the Native Americans and their struggle with the Euro - Americans over their legal rights of showing their cultural identity in America. It also deals with the literary works of the Native writers and their reaction to the conflict with the Euro - Americans. Whereas, section two sheds light on the historical background to the cultural conflict of the African Americans with the White Americans from the very beginning of the seventeenth century when the Africans settled in America. It also studies the works of the African American writers who attempt to preserve the traditions of their ancestry through their publications. The last section of this chapter shows the cultural conflict of the Dominican Americans in the United States through the literary works of their writers. It studies cultural issues such as assimilation and bilingualism which the Dominicans confronted in exile by presenting significant works of the Dominican Americans writers. The second chapter is subdivided into two sections. The first section is a study of the literary biography of the Native American author, Leslie Marmon Silko (1948 - ), it studies in detail the shaping elements of Silko's mentality and her vision of the struggle between the Native Americans and the Euro - Americans. This section also includes a general discussion of the cultural conflict through her poetry and novels. The second section deals with the concept of cultural conflict in Silko's first novel, Ceremony (1977). It depicts the inner and outer conflicts which the Native Americans undergo in an attempt to perceive the significance of the land and the individual in the multicultural community. The third chapter includes two sections. The first section focuses on the biography of Toni Morrison (1931 - ),an African American author. It explores the influences upon her literary career and works which depict various issues which the Black community confronted, like racism, search for identity, cultural conflict, oppression and slavery. Section two deals with the cultural conflict in Morrison's fourth novel, Tar Baby. It analyzes in detail the layers of America's racial social classes which are the consequences of the clash between the White and Black communities. It also deals with the internal cultural conflict within the black community between the totally Americanized individuals and those who strictly stick to their traditional values. Chapter four falls into two sections. Section one is a study of the life and the literary works of Julia Alvarez (1950 - ), a Hispanic American author. Section two is devoted to the discussion of the cultural conflict in Alvarez's first novel, How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents (1991). It analyzes such cultural issues as bilingualism, assimilation and the multiple identities. It shows the impact of immigration on Alvarez's female characters and the development of their hyphenated identity in the United States. The study is rounded off with a conclusion, which sums up the findings of the thesis.
