Abstract:
During the period from September 2015 till April a total of 498 fishes belonging to 14 species namely : 23 Alburnus caeruleus, 9 Arabibarbus grypus, 35 Carasobarbus luteus, 56 Chondrostoma regium, 42 Ctenopharyngodon idella, one Cyprinion kais, 48 Cyprinionmacrostomum, 61 Cyprinus carpio, 50 Leuciscus vorax, 6 Luciobarbus esocinus, 36 Luciobarbus xanthopterus, 4 Mesopotamichthys sharpeyi,(from family Cyprinindae), 68 Captodon zillii (from family Cichlidae), 59 Planiliza abuc (from family Mugilidae). Were collected from Tigris River at Al - Shawwaka region.As the result of external and internal examination for fish paras these fishes were infected with 67 species belong to different groups included eight species Ciliophora from genus Trichodina, six species of Myxobolus, 47 species of Monogennea two species of Cichlidogyrus, 25 species Dactylogyrus, 18 species of Gyrodactylus, one species of Eudiplozoon, one species of Microcotyle sp., two species of Neoechinorhynchus (N.), one species of Nematoda (Procamallanus), and three species of Crustacae (two species of Ergasulus, one species of Lamproglena).14 parasites species were recorded for the first in Iraq in the present study. These included two species of Ciliopora (T. inversa, T. truttae), one species of Myxoblus (M. problematicus), one species of Dactylogyrus (D. nanoides), 10 species of Gyrodactylus (G. branchicus, G. cotti, G. dzhalilovi, G. kearni, G.magnus, G. matovi, G. mikailovi, G. prostate, G. rarus, G. seravshani).Also in this present study 32 species of fishes were recorded as anew host for different species of parasites for the first time in Iraq. As well as the prevalence and mean intensity of infection with parasites. Isolated the parasites from the gills and intesten of fishes in fection and verified in different number and different species of parasites. Among the inspected fishes cyprinus carpro harbored the highest number of parasites species (23), followed by Captodon zillii (14), Chondrostoma regium, Carasobarbus luteus and Cyprinion macrostomum (11), Planiliza abu (10), Ctenopharyngodon idella (nine),Leuciscus vorax, (five), Alburnus caeruleus and Luciobarbus xanthopterus (for), and Mesopotamichthys sharpeyi, Cyprinion kais, Arabibarbus grypus and Luciobarbus esocinus (one).
