Abstract: تضمن البحث الاهمية التي تكمن في مسكات الصراع الارضي قيد الدراسة ومتطلباتها من الصفات البدنية، ولاسيما القوة الخاصة تواصلا مع ما يفرضه قانون لعبة المصارعة، اذ يرى الباحث ان العملية التدريبية يجب ان تتواكب مع كل تغير يطرا على قانون الاتحاد الدولي لمصارعة ا | The importance of the study lies in developing the essential hand grips and holds in wresting because they require special type of strength. The researcher believes that the training process should suit the changes in the international Laws of Wrestling. Thus, the researcher proposed using two training styles (Static and compound) for developing special strength and aimed at finding their effects on performing such holds. The problem of the study lies in attacking wrestlers not benefiting from his high position during some holds thus wasting many chances for winning. The researcher attributes this weakness to the lack of the special strength necessary for performing these holds due to the absence of the training styles that develop this strength. The researcher hypothesized the following : 1. Using Static - compound training styles has statistical effect on developing special strength for some Greco - roman wrestling holds for the ages 18 - 20 years.2. There are statistical differences on developing special strength for some Greco - roman wrestling holds for the ages 18 - 20 years in favor of the compound training style.Procedures : The researcher used the experimental method. The subjects were (12) young Greco - Roman wrestlers of the ages 18 - 20 years old. They were divided into two experimental groups. A pilot study was conducted followed by pretests that included maximum strength test and strength defined by speed tests. The researcher also used a test battery to testing strength endurance. This test battery consists of six tests as well as three artistic performance tests for the wrestling holds understudy.The researcher used two training styles; the first style is the static style applied on the first experimental group while the second group used the compound style. The two training styles took (8) weeks with (3) training sessions per week. The results were analyzed and discussed using proper statistical methods.The researcher concluded the following : 1. Training with compound & static style have a positive effect on special strength in youth wrestlers of the ages (18 - 20) years old.2. Training with compound style have appositive effect n strength endurance and maximum strength better than static style in youth wrestlers of the age (18 - 20) years old.3. Training with compound & static style have a positive effect on the development of artistic grips of youth wrestlers of the age (18 - 20) years old.4. Training with compound style have a positive effect better than static style in development of grips (burn in bowing) and (throw in round)Recommendations is : 1. Using compound and static styles in the trying training programs of Al - Thora club for wrestling due to their positive effect on the development of special strength and performing some Roman - style grips.2. Using compound and static styles in training all Iraqi clubs for wrestling due to their great effect on development youth wrestling of the ages (18 - 20) years old.3. Using compound and static styles in training during special preparation period to develop special strength and artistic grips. 4. center on the compound style in training during special perperation in this style.
