Abstract:
- e present study deals with the political poetry in the age of B n1 Al - Ahmar (635 to 793.A.H.). It investigates the artistic char teristics of this poetry due to the i1nportance of this period in t history of Muslin1s in Andalus (Spain). Some Arab pnn s of Bani Al - Ahrnar could establish an Arab Isla111ic state that ould stand in the face of its enemies and maintain the Islai · c identity of Andalusfor a bout two and a half centuries.he study falls into two parts. Part one tackles the objective (the atic) features of the political poetry of the age. It is divi d into six chapters : appraisal ; elegy ; satire , complaint , and eseech , war poetry , help - asking poetry , and pridepoetart two sheds light on the artistic character is tics of the. It is divided in to three chapters : Lanuage and style image , and artistic structure.ome of the important findings of the study are : itical appraisal was the most common type of poetry in e under study ; ts of the age had renewed the glorification of moral and e values ·vhich the kings and ministers of Bani Alwere characterized by ; ect political satire and criticism to the princes of Bani disappeared because most poets were part of the al structure of the Nasri state; r poetry was prevalent in the age due to the numerous H lp - asking poetry depicted the catastrophes of Andalw th age of Bani Al - Ahmar and before that; P de poetry represented a reflection of the speciality of e e which required every cling to be resolved and brave ; T Language of appraisal , elegy , satire , complaint , se h help - asking , and pride poetry was clear and simple rh eas war poetry included some strange words ;Political poetry was full of political terms and words 1 dicating religion , history and other disciplines.Poetic i1nages depicted various aspects of the political life fthe age.The sources of such images varied. Some of these Sources re the Holy Quran , Arabic folklore , Andalusian ' nvironment and the poets own education as well.Kings , political appraisai poems were multi - purpose.The opening lines of political appraisal poems varied in erne into love , nature and relics description , and wine. ostly , they were very pertinent to the themes of the olitical appraisal. Elegies started with mentioning the fluence of losing the dead person on people or started with wisdom.So did elegies on cities , pride , beseech , and mplaint poetry took the form of short stanzas , while satire as distributed into verse lines , stanzas , or whole poems. ar poetry took the form of poems or parts of poems mbined with political appraisal or elegiac parts. So were Ip - asking poetry. Poets were successful in making ernatic unity in their multi - purpose porns. The study is an attempt to keep the memory of those aders who left us more than a single memory that mortalized the Islamic Arabic existence in the Andalusian ninsula.
