ان مواقف الالم والمعاناة والضغوط التي يتعايش معها ممرضي المستشفيات والعاملين في دور المسنين وبصورة مستمرة تعتبر من اكثر المسببات التي تؤدي الى مشكلة اجهاد الشفقة خاصة بالنسبة للعاملين الاكثر تعاطفا وشفقة على المعاناة التي لحقت بالاخر والتي يمكن ان تثير ت | The situation of pain , suffering and stress that hospitals of nurses and workers in elderly homes try to cope with continuowly are regarded from the most causes that lead to the problem of compassion fatigue , especially for those workers who are the most empathy and compassion with those who are suffering one of the more causes that lead to , such situation may raise question about the meaning of life and the goal of this life which mostly associated with inability to confront situation and life difficulties , according this makes them lose their feeling of the meaning in their life. compassion fatigue has many personal and vocational effects , as reducing the ability to tolerate scenes of suffering , absent from work , anger , boredom , energy losing , interpersonal aggression , withdrawal from personal and social relationship , distortion in the look to the world that it is a safe and meaningful world. Although there are studies investigate the relation between compassion fatigue and other variables , the researcher does not find to the best of her knowledge any study that deals with its relationship with other variable , that has great important such as meaning of life from this comes the importance of studying the relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life of two importance categories in the Iraqi society , namely , hospitals of nurses and workers in elderly homes.. , The current search aimed at identifying 1 - Compassion fatigue of the hospitals nurses. 2 - Significance of statistical difference in compassion fatigue according to the variables of gender, years of service , studying achievement. 3 - The Meaning of life of the hospitals nurses. 4 - Significance of statistical difference in the meaning of life according to the variables of gender, years of service , studying achievement.. 5 - The relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life of the hospitals nurses. 6 - Compassion fatigue of workers in elderly homes. 7 - Significance of statistical difference in compassion fatigue according to the variables of gender, years of service , studying achievement. 8 - The Meaning of life of workers in homes elderly 9 - Significance of statistical difference in the meaning of life according to the variables gender, years of service , studying achievement... 10 - The relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life of workers in elderly homes. 11 - Significance of statistical difference in in relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life among The hospitals nurses and workers in elderly homes. In order to achieve the aims of the research , the researcher has developed compassion fatigue scale which consists of (40) items in its final form. , The researcher has adopted Haffedh scale that consists of (50) items in its final form , The researcher statistically analyzed scales items to compute the discrimination power , The validity is also calculated by computed the relationship between items degree and the aggregate degree of the scale , The reliability is computed in two methods : the split - half method and cronbachs alpha formula of both scales. After applying the two scales on a sample of nurses in hospital that consists of (250) nurses and a sample of workers in elderly homes consists of (50) workers in the city of Baghdad , the study achieved the following results : 1 - The hospitals nurses are suffering from compassion fatigue beside they enjoy a high level of feeling the meaning of life.. 2 - There are no significant differences in accordance with gender years of service , studying achievement variables in compassion fatigue among the hospital nurses. 3 - There are no significant differences in accordance with gender , years of service , studying achievement variables in the meaning of life among The hospitals nurses. 4 - There is not significant relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life among The hospitals nurses 5 - Workers in homes elderly do not suffer from compassion fatigue and possess a high degree of sense of the meaning of life 6 - There are no statistically significant differences in accordance with gender , years of service variables - and the presence of significant differences according to studying achievement in favor of those with low studying achievement (elementary and below), in compassion fatigue of workers in elderly homes. 7 - There are no statistically significant differences according to gender , years of service and studying achievement variables in the meaning of life amng workers in elderly homes. 8 - There is not significant relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life among workers in elderly homes 9 - There is not statistically significant differences in relationship between compassion fatigue and the meaning of life among The hospitals nurses and workers in elderly homes. In the light of research results the researcher presents asset of recommendations and suggestions for future researches
