Abstract:
The death is a humanity phenomenon, it is found with life itself, butthe attitude from the death took many forms according to the severalfactors : environmental and psychological factors. When the most poetsdescribed this phenomenon, their description contained hiddenunderstanding to this ending which is followed them. The poets showedtheir perfection like others from own arts, the thinking of death becamea feature among the features of Arab Romantic which concerned to thesubjective tendency when it appeared, so that this attitude was lasting verystrong.The topic "The Death in the Poetry of As - Sayyab and Nazik Al - Malaekah" is most important to study, because the death is intelligible in their poetry, the death combined the two poets by many information which effectively participated to forming the a significant base in their poetry experience. The emergency conditions which lived it the Arab Homeland especially, and the world generally created in their selves many reasons which made them looked at what is surrounding them from conditions in addition to it they lived, their sight were romantic, especially they were at the beginning of their poetry lives belonged to the romantic.While the subjective feeling with depressed because of the unable to change, aw well as they couldn’t touch what is satisfied their torture sentimental, which appeared to them a big field to deal with death harmonize once and reluctance another time. According to this fact, we showed the sight death in the poetry of As - Sayyab and Nazik Al - Malaekah in terms of the death is phenomenon, but the attitude from it was difference or agreement according to the information in which the two poets moved and the modes in which their perfection movement controlled and directed.It is easy, we realized to comparison between the two poets, because it was a meeting or an exchange between them, or they agreed or differenced regarding as a common situation, if it's corrected that the comparative studied each what is common and similar, as he could realize each what is new and different, both of them calling for comparison to know the motives which behind it. The procedure of the literature research required to be the thesis : introduction, preface, four chapters and conclusion.The preface was in title "the poets and the death", it concluded the sight of poet to the death staring from the paganism eras and ending with we are discussing, how are they difference from the one generation to another according to the necessities of progressive the human beings intellect all and spiritual.The first chapter discussed "the human's death", I took from it the death of family and relatives by the two poets, and then I dealt with children's death in the As - Sayyab poetry. I studied the poets' death by two poets, the chapter ended with the death which has ethical and humanity contents by the two poets.The second chapter was in title "the symbolic death", in it I studied "the live in the death" by As - Sayyab and Nazik, and I represented it with the legendary death, the legendary and religious symbols, the subjective by As - Sayyab and the Sufism death by Nazik. As well as I studied "the death in the life" by two poets, I represented it by "the love and death, the disease and death, the poverty and death, the estrangement and death". The third chapter "the death of location and time", I studied the two poets; it started with preface on the relationship between the location and death by the subjective of poet. Then I studied the death of location by As - Sayyab which represented in : Jikor's death, the grandfather's home or Slaves' Home, and the town. While by Nazik which represented in : nature's death, town's death", and then I studied the time's death by its divisions : the past, the present, and the future in the poetry of the two poets.The fourth chapter discussed the technical study; I concerned in it the poetry language in the poetry of the two poets in terms of the utterances of death, their effective with poetry heritage, the Holly Qura'n, and the narrative speech. I studied the poetry picture by its sources either what is heritage or contemporary. Finally, I discussed the poetry music in terms of internal and external rhythm, and then the research ended with a conclusion in it I mentioned the most important results, they are following of them : - At the sight of the two poets by the death of their relatives, the dimensions of their experiences appeared which expressed clearly on instinctive feeling from death, as they elegizing themselves. The great partition from the feelings which propagated by feeling of others by poet's subjective. - The sight of the two poets expressed on the death of its two contents "ethical and humanity", on the experience rarefaction dimensional, the relation of the poet with experience seemed represented by outside of his feeling. - The tradition by its dimensions directed the present, especially, if the present which lived by the two poets by different ways which imposed by many philosophical, so they discussed it in positive situation. As - Sayyab took a special symbols for standing reality forlife doesn't end, in addition to the symbols specified with sacrificed, As - Sayyab has its own symbols, to revival him again, but it was the reality to achieve him failure. While Nazik saw in its Sufism behavior way to prosperity life by death. - The desire of our two poets about the truth produced in their selves eager to search on the real love, because they saw that ideal love couldn't achieve without extinction the human in the love, since As - Sayyab had loved his lover whom the death took her, so he saw the death will achieve his desire. As well as Nazik saw that the earth love doesn't up rise the human to reach the eternal truth, her Sufism journey was being which represented completely interruption about the material existence. - The time and the location were very important in their experience, if the human removed from its subjective each what is surrounding of him, it made of these location and time prosperity with live, because the hope enhance himself, without the hope himself would become depress and it complain form lonely. From this the sight of As - Sayyab and Nazik to the location and to the time effected to what they suffering from intellectual and emotional conflict, it made the location and the time in their sight something connected with the death.
