Abstract:
The work thesis involves the preparation and characterization of five new Schiff's bases from interaction of 4 - antipyrinecarboxaldehye , 2 - Carboxybenzaldehyde , 3 - Phenyl pyrazole - 4 - carbaldehyde, 2 - hydroxy - 1 - naphthaldehyde & 2 - Acetylthiophene with 5 - amino - 1, 3, 4 - thiadiazole - 2 - thiol used to preparation of five new modified polymers and the study of their effectiveness in the photostability of Poly(vinyl chloride) chips. The prepared Schiff's bases were characterized by melting point spectral methods (IR, UV - Vis) , Nuclear Magnetic Resonance for (1H.NMR) and the mass. also the physical properties and elemental analysis for (C.H.N.S.).It has been following the photodegradation and to modified Poly(vinyl chloride) chips and a thickness of 40 micrometers in different times of irradiation and measurement values of the carbonyl (ICO), polyene (IPO) and hydroxyl (IOH). After modification of polymer and compare it with the original polymer where he found it increases with irradiation time and Relative viscosity measurements by which to measure the molecular weights of Poly(vinyl chloride) chips and comparing different additive change. and calculate the weight loss.Study the photostabilization of chips prepared by irradiation through ultraviolet radiation at wavelength 365 nm length and intensity of 6.2 × 10 - 9 ein. dm - 3. sec - 1 for various the times to determine the Photodegradation for compounds and the stability of modified polymers. And then follow the values of the the quantum yield of the chain scission (Φcs) using viscosity measurement technique with irradiation time and found that the amount of change in the average molecular weight of the viscosity decreases with increasing the times irradiation. And also it study of the surface shape of prepared chips using a microscope and see the surface shape before and after irradiation. The results showed that a Poly(vinyl chloride) chips that has been modified by introduction of active groups of Schiff's bases behave as stabilizers for photostabilization in the following order.(PVC B)> (PL 1) > (PL 3) > (PL 5) > (PL 2) > (PL 4) Increase photostabilization Results obtained have been suggested some of the mechanical photostabilization depending on the structure of additives active groups to polymer
