Abstract: The aim of this research is to know : . The level of engagement in learning among the students of Wasit University.. Significance of the differences in the average degree of engagement in learning among the students of Wasit University according to the following variables : a. Type (male, female). b. Specialization (scientific, humanities). c, Grade (First and Fourth) - The Level of self - esteem among the students of Wasit University.. The significance of the differences in the average degree of self - esteem among the studentsof Wasit University according to the following variables : a. Type (male, female). b. Specialization (scientific, humanitarian). c. Grade (First and Fourth). The correlation between the of engagement learning and self - esteem among the studentsof the Wasit University.In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher prepared a measure to measure learning by Pace ( ), and a measure of self - esteem according to Rogers ( ). The two tools were applied to a sample of statistical analysis of ( ) students. After checking the validity of the two tools through the indicators of validity and consistency, the researcher applied the tools to a sample of ( ) male and female students. After collecting the data and analyzing them statistically and using the T - test for two independent samples, and Pearson correlation coefficient, Kalmajarov Smirnov equation, Vaccronbach equation, and the T - test for one sample, and the analysis of mono - variance, the results reached the following : . The character of the university student has been characterized by the enjoyment of engagement of a level of learning, at a level that gives him the confidence that leads to the hope of renewing the ambition to achieve success, as engagement gives them the opportunity to give and interact socially and scientifically. . The researcher can feel the role of the nature of sex for the gender, especially the females in their diligence to seriously engage in learning, as the indicators that students in the specialization of humanities are allowed to read and memorize which gives them the interactive field under the academic study and emerged more especially in the fourth stage where the female student feels that she can continue her higher education, which gives her the confidence that learning is the way to success.. The enjoyment of the university students with a self - esteem coincides with the integration of the individual's perception of himself and his abilities towards success. As academic success gives the individual a sense of integration in his personality and self - esteem, where he seeks to social status, which may be a self - motivation to engage in learning. . Through the results of the current research, the level of self - esteem did not give an indication that males or females are distinguished from each other by virtue of the human race They are indicators of the nature of the role of the individual as a male or female and adhering to the individual personality, as well as the role of the family in promoting self - confidence that draws the individual's potential for social interaction which is reflected in his seriousness of engagement in all areas of life and self - esteem.. The relationship between engagement with learning and self - esteem has tended towards attracting a positive and correlative relationship which is an indicator of the role of the engagement in enhancing the self - esteem of the individual and the role of the individual's self - esteem and the role of self - esteem that the individual should engage in learning for success and he is confident of success for his positive self - esteem.In the light of the results achieved and to complete the study, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations and proposals for future research.
