Abstract:
Interest in the interpretation of privacy and the difference in housing production from a cultural perspective , in turn led to the emergence of urban visions classified on "cultural" basis , that relates , in a way or another , to the issue of cultural identity , andcalls for the consideration of the present residential environment through a cultural intermediary , which is the "visual aspect". Here , the role of the planner is intercessory , as to generate a common vision among the various stakeholders that pushes towards the communicative and integrative direction in the planning and design of residential environment , in a way that this vision has the ability to accommodate the growing variables over time.The absence of the disguised determinants of sustainable dealing principles with the optical components in the contemporary residential spaces , in a comprehensive format that copes with the present and accommodates the future , as a result of the concentration of the majority of propositions on segmented vocabularies and indicators to illustrate , this was the phenomenon of sustainability in various fields of housing , a reason to generate a knowledge gap about " how to achieve visual sustainability in residential spaces " , as for its great impact in judging the quality of the built environment and the spirit of the place and the preference and sensual pleasure at the receiver.Research problematic represented in " poor visual Sustainability in the spaces of contemporary residential scenes which we live in , has two aspects , namely : the integration of the cultural , social , economic and environmental dimensions that achieve sustainability, in addition to cultural visual communication of residential spaces " , that generated a major goal of the research : " to identify active indicators in seeking visual sustainability of the residential spaces ". Research developed an operational definition of this concept , and the expression of its characteristics which are the objective and subjective indicators extracted by both conceptual and theoretical frameworks of the research , and the creation of measure structure to be used in the evaluation of residential complexes elected from Baghdad , as part of the operational framework , in a participatory manner and strategic vision that pools both (specialists and residents) , through which to identify priorities for research hypothesis check " Visual Sustainability is a preventive and therapeutic approach to achieve integration and cultural communication in residential spaces ".The research found during that the fact that visual sustainability in residential spaces constitute a complex approach to the transformation from negative processors toward positive processors depends in achieved and evaluated on objective and subjective indicators whom research part it within the structure of the measurement to a group concerned with visual aspects of residential spaces , and includes mainly " clarity , human scale , sensual pleasure , cultural communication " and other deals with the dimensions of sustainability in these spaces ," economic , social and environmental " , and this structure is an assessment tool can be relied to her by researchers to analyze residential environments and then treat the negative repercussions and support positive ones in builtone , and adopting ways to prevent for future other , and that to the importance of these environments as one of the main pillars in the integration and communication cultural.
