Abstract: تتناول هذه الدراسة الدلالات التعبيرية لتصاميم اقمشة الاطفال في العراق من عمر6 - 12 سنة، والتي اكدت الدراسات الحديثة على اهمية دورالدلالة في تحديد الاتصال المرئي والحسي مابين المرسل والمتلقي (الطفل)، لما تتضمنه من معان تعبيرية وخصوصية وظيفية ليس من الناح | The present study deals with the expressional significance in designing children fabric in Iraq within 6 - 12 year. However, recent studies in this field asserted the importance of the significance role in identifying the nature of communication between the sender and the receiver (the child). It includes an expressional functional meaning shot only in the performance role but, also in the ascetical and artistically role if it has been designed according to scientific studies.Modern designs have been emphasizes on the child and this abilities , interest and tendencies (mentally psychologically and emotionally in the process of design and perform it on printed fabric, in away that makes the child have essential care this process and how to employ the expressional meaning, which has the ability to send the child to the target and the ability to recognize and understanding those meaning i.e. to perform its functional and aesthetical purposes. In conclusion it can achieve the aim of designing idea especially when this idea express the child's environment social , civilization in additional to the Iraq identity and folklore.Accordingly , this study comes reveal the nature of expressional significances in designing the child's fabric, within 6 - 12 year because this age is very important to construct the child's character and his body brain.The first chapter of this study includes the problem which appear the expressional significances in designing child's fabric and the suggested designing which employ these significances. the material understudy were chosen from Iraqi markets during the year 2005 - 2008.Chapter two consists of four sections the first one study the child's fabric as well as the colors and forms section two studied the expression and its meaning according to colors forms and expressional significance and function section three studies the aspects and the stages of recognition development and the basis used in designing and child's fabric. Then the section identify the most important indications of the theoretical back ground and precious studies.Chapter these includes the procedures of the research and the analytical methods being used in the study. The population here represented by 62 designed sample 25% , of the whole population were chosen debility as a sample of the research which concluded by 15 designed samples. These samples were analyzed according to analytical list constructed by the researcher as a tool of the research after it has been validated and granted it readability by the experts and cooper formula.In chapter four the 15the designed samples were analyzed and the conclusion were stated in chapter five which were as follow : 1 - cloth plays a big role the features of the used fabric because the texture adds an aesthetical and functional to the designed fabric.2 - Colors has an essential role to appear the aesthetic of designed forms and achieve symbolic and aesthetical dimensions.3 - Most of the items being used in designing is either from animal nature or a words written in foreign langue’s which in conclusion lack the environment, civilization and folklore of Iraqi child.4 - Most of the significances being concluded from the usage of the designed item were either symbolical or iconic , while most of the designing lack the symptom.5 - The styles of executive , designing , engineering and abstraction were mostly used in the most while factual style were less used in relative with the other style.In chapter five, the second aim were achieved by setting suggested designing followed by the suggestions , recommendation stated by the research and finally the references and appendices used in the research.
