Abstract:
This study deals with evaluating the efficiency of land transportation in Maysan city which is located south of Iraq between (47,30 - 46,15) latitude from the north and between (46,030 - 47,30) longitude from the east. Its population is 1,108,492 according to the 2016 census. Its area is (16072) km2 which is surrounded by Wasit city from the north, Islamic Republic of Iran from the east, Basra city from the south, and Thi - Qar city from the west. The current study is essentially based on the statistics of 2016 in addition to the field study of land transportation roads, using geographical information systems and statistical means. It is also based on the formal data gained from related governmental and institutional offices, in addition to conducting the necessary interviews.
