Abstract: This Study, “The Fictional World of Jaleel Al - Qaisy - A Critical Study in His Fictional Art - ” has resulted in the following. 1. The fictional world of Jaleel Al - Qaisy is a varied humane world through which man is presented between an ordinary man and an educated, rebellious and revolutionary man , between an evil man and a peaceful man. The writer takes care of both the external and internal worlds of his characters to make them realistically, active in his world. 2. The writer intends to make the ordinary man a hero equal to that belonging to the highest social class. This is embodied in his dealing with the points of view of this man concerning the society and life. 3. It is clear that Al - Qaisy is influened by the western literature and history as well. This can be seen through studying the characters of his stories.4. Al - Qaisy uses the techniques of science fiction, especially through his ability to create unknown worlds, creatures , and scientific tools. The outcome of all these is Realism because to Al - Qaisy all these techniques serve the human needs and purposes. Al - Qaisy regards the planets as Utopia living in peace, prosperity and scientific progess.5. The robot is the symbol of evil in capitalism which is used to threaten the working classes.Al - Qaisy uses the robot to represent the evil side in Science Fiction.6. Al - Qaisy pays great attention to the celebrations in his stories through his serious analogy with the religious celebrations since ancient times, and also through man’s social gatherings. He presents the problems of man along the seasons, parks, markets, private and public parties, and people’s demonstrations - These phenomena have formed a meaningful focus in the stories of Al - Qaisy to the extent that they are related and connected both in the past and present.7. The place (the thre shold - Al - Ataba) represents a special world that includes various types of struggle It is not a transitional world, or a temporary station for his characters, but it is a place of contrandictions and close struggles among the characters of the writer.8. We can find two narrative structures in the characters of Al - Qaisy : one is the structure of failure and deterioration because of the living, social and polotical circumstances, and the second, is that of the search for the absent because of mysterious circumstances surrounding man or the place he be longs to. 9. Every collection of Al - Qaisy’s stories is characterized by certain environments and styles that are diffrent from those used in the other collection. Fol instance, Saheel Al - Marre Hawla Al - Alam, 1968 has the black trend, severe language and unreasoned death. The second, Zulaikha.. Al - Buid yaqtarib, 1974 is enveloped by its rural and savage trend with its sexual situations that are sometimes abnormal. This collection presents political questions, such as the Palestinean one. The third collection, Fi Zawraqin Wahid (In the Same Boat), 1985, presents social, humane and general problems that portray the life of people belonging to different social classes, such as work, love, death, crime, etc. In Al - Qaisy’s last collection of stories, Mamlakat Al - Dhawiya (The Kingdom of Light Reflections, 1995, the prevailing trend is the clinging to the ancient history and presenting it in a contemporary treatment. The stories in this collection are not devoid of intended symbolism and criticism of the authority in its different appearances. The stories written by Al - Qaisy and published in various magazines and newspapers are characterized by the same environments.
