Abstract:
a structure depending on growing units similar to the techniques of fictional structure. Also, the elegy for those poets was limited to the pure elegy ailns the tnost important feature of these long tragic poems during this period is that it was a conservative literature and a container of revolutionary iinplications : religious, historical, psychological, and political. As for the poetic language, the long tragic poem had artistic features which 1nade it more influential in the readers through the mass use of religious expressions suiting the elegy intention which aims to show sadness and weeping for affecting the passions of the readers. Concerning nai11es of famous people and setting, of.course, the natnes of Imam Hussein was the first among those fr1mous people. The researcher finds out that these long tragic poems have a lot of prominent stylistic features used by the poets for affecting listeners and attracting their attentions. They implied orders, vocations, and questions. The poets also used speech repetition with all of its types.As for rhythm, the poets tended to use meters such as Al - Raml, Al - khafif, Al - Basitc, Al - Tawil, and Al - Wafir Al - Mutakarib Concerning rhyme, the poets were divided into two sides : the first who uses one rhy111e only with the letters (111, b, and L) systemas a rhyme of same Jong tragic poems. The poetic i1nage in long tragic poems was divided into two types : static and Dynamic iinage. While the beginning in long tragic poems was on two trends : the first which has direct aim. The second which has beginning. Firally, the long tragic poems in Imam Hussein during that period was very expressive about its stage and relevant to the culture of that era. They implicate the historical events andstarting from the baUk of karhala lo c111body the reflecting situation or s11ch horrible event. Then, ii makes this battle a lightening point and a high !lag embodying a greatest sacrifice and most sacred martyrdom produced by a man and being as a sacrifice to hisrdigious beliefs and courage.
