Abstract:
This study deals with narration and the elements of narration in Mahmood AL - Dhahir's stories. This work falls into a preliminary, three chapters and a conclusion following the analytical procedure. Chapter one, which is entitled "Narration and the Structure of Events in Al Dhahir's Stories", starts with a theoretical introduction explaining the importance of narration and events in the story and the between them. It consists of two sections. Section one is about narration divided into patterns such as objective, subjective and interrelated. The second one is devoted to ways narration such as description and dialogue. Section three is mainly about the patterns of structuring the events such as sequences, overlapping, cycling, composing, reiteration,, and paralleling. Chapter two is entitled "Characters in Al Dhahir's Stories". It starts with an introduction showing the importance of the characters. It includes two sections. The first one is about introducing the characters (telling and showing). Section two is about character types according to traits. Chapter three is entitled " Narrative Space in Al Dhahir's Fiction". It also starts with an introduction and two sections. Section one shows time and its levels (order, duration, and frequency). Section two is devoted to the explanation of place and its relations with the characters, situations, events falls into types such realistic, imaginary, main vs. secondary. The conclusion comes finally to show the most important results.
