Abstract: One of the reasons for choosing this topic is that the concept of condensation (old and modern) is the most outstanding feature of the language and one of the most important features of the innovation which the poets draws to is through capturing an idea or an event, a scene or an imagery that he means in a verse or a set of lines of verses. In general, we find this term is not new as there were many signs of it embedded in other terms such as (summarization and briefing), later this is known as condensation. We find that the poet includes usually many meaning in little as well as a condensation in imagery. On that term, condensation is an interesting theme for including the showing of lines that has been in immortalized. This study includes a preface which tackles the term of the two epoch poets; which is subdivided into two sections temporal, those who lived through the Pre - Islamic and Islamic and did not recite poetry during the latter period and the poetic section in which poets recited poetry during both epochs. Chapter One studies the condensation in the concept of poems in which we showed in various opening lines like (ruin lines, courting lines, imaginary lines and the youth and age). These opening lines were condensed by the poet aiming at attracting attention to his poem. In the Second chapter we showed the condensation in the purpose which is subdivided into (eulogy, apology, enthusiasm, praise, elegy, satire, wisdom and other purposes). They were represented in one line or many lines in which the poet declares his purpose through references and hinting. He was one of the diligent poets to choose the most condensed utterances for the large meanings. In the Third Chapter we stated three pivots in which the condensation is achieved : the first is the brief utterance with large meaning which shows the poets’ mastery of the use of these utterances that carried wide meaning and the second pivot includes the imagery condensation in which the poet condensed the uses of the simile, metaphor, and metonymy. The third pivot represents the condensation of cadence which is archived through the opening lines to which the poet has resorted to bring the attention. This would make it easier to memorize the line of verse and attract the attention to it. One of the features of the condensation is repetition which was an important feature as far as the Arabic poetry is concerned. Poets resorted to that to achieve what they desire through repeating and achieving cadence to the listener. The study ends with a Conclusion which sums up the findings of the study.
