Abstract: The present study investigates some controversial grammatical issues in the book of Mac?ni al - Quran wa Icrabuh (The Meaning and Parsing of the Glorious Quran) by al - Zadjadj. Disagreeing with al - Zadjadj's orientation, al - Farisee reviewed these issues in his book al - Ighfal (Inadvertence). The study is restricted to al - Sabc al - Tiwal (the Longest Seven Quranic S?ras). The seventh of these s?ras, however, is also a controversial issue. Some scholars deem both S?rat Al - Anfal (the Spoils of War) and Surat At - Taubah (the Repentence) the seventh of these s?ras, while others consider S?rat Yunus ([Prophet] Jonah) as the seventh s?ra. The researcher has, however, adopted both views as they are both well - established; the first entertains Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) companions’ consensus, while the second hinges upon well - established scientific evidence. The grammatical issues reviewed by al - Farisee from al - Zadjadj's book amount to twenty three issues out of thirty two tackling other linguistic, morphological and semantic aspects. To investigate these grammatical issues, the researcher tends at the very beginning to provide a brief summary of al - Zadjadj's views concerning each issue. He then presents al - Farisee's view and tries to either support or refute this view building on the well - established Quranic and grammatical literature. The researcher has tried to provide a comprehensive grammatical investigation of these issues and use as simple and direct language as possible. There bound, however, to be some pitfalls and shortcomings - as in any humane work - for these the researcher takes full responsibility.
