Abstract: The research aimed to tackle with effectiveness of (Thinking Maps) in : 1 - Scores of second grade in chemistry material.2 - Skills of optic thinking for intermediate second grade students. In order to verify the two aims of the research, then casting the two followingzero hypotheses : 1 - There is no difference with a statistic evidence on level (0.05) betweenthe average of students degrees for experimental group who studies thematerial according to (thinking maps) and average of degrees for thestudents of controlling group who study the material according to theordinary method in the scoring exam of chemistry for the intermediatesecond grade's students.2 - There is no difference with a statistic evidence on level (0.05) betweenthe average of students degrees for experimental group who studies thematerial according to (thinking map) and average of degrees for thestudents of controlling group who study the material according to theordinary method in the test of optic thinking skills for the intermediatesecond grade's students. In order to verify these two hypotheses, the researcher proceeded awhole term - experiment , actual teaching started Wednesday (1/3/2017) to end at Wednesday (26/4/2017) had relied on the followingprocedures : Experimental design was chosen (of partial controlling) for twoequivalent groups one is experimental and the other is controlling, sample of the research was chosen from (Safey Aldeen IntermediateSchool) in the center of Babel province randomly by (Simple randommethod) from the population which was represented by the morninggov. intermediate and secondary schools in Babel province, students ofintermediate second grade in the school were (144) students distributedin four sections are( A, B, C, D), the researcher chose randomly thesection (B) to represent the experimental group while (C) section wasthe controlling group, he excluded statistically the failed students whowere (6) students, consequently the total students underwent theexperiment were (66) students in the two groups as ( 33) per group, thetwo groups were equivalent in the following variables ( Age by months,Bcleverness test Raven, scores of 1st semester, before testing the optic skills of thinking and education of the parents), the scientific material was specified to by the final three chapters (5th, 6th , 7th ) of chemistry material for 2nd intermediate grade (6th print, 2015), the researcher started to cast the behavioral tends, they were (160) behavioral trends, plus, the researcher prepare (16) teaching plan for both experimental and controlling groups and after being showed by experts then it was modified.Relating to the tools of the research , the researcher intended to instruct two tools by himself, first one was represented by testing degrees of students in chemistry consists of (40) subjective items using multi choice of four alternatives, credibility of content and external truth, difficulty factor, distinguishing factor, effectiveness of faulty alternative and determining consistency of test via half division then distance of correction in Spearman equation is (0,88), while the other tool was represented by tests of optic thinking skills consists of (30) items of the type of a four alternatives variable, the external truth and truth of building were determined via using the equation of alignment of Point By Serial , consistency of test was determined by using method of Kudir Richardson 20 to have consistency factor of (0,82), after application of the two tools of research and using the appropriate statistical means, the results showed the excellency of experimental group students who studied up to the method of (thinking maps) against the controlling group students who studied according to the ordinary method in the test of scoring and optical thinking skills, in the shed of the results the researcher has come up with some recommendations like the necessity of using (thinking map) in teaching chemistry for 2nd intermediate grade's students due to the positive influence or rising level of scores for students and rising their optical thinking skills, the researcher has suggested to implement a similar research to show the effectiveness of(thinking maps) in another variables and different curriculums
