Abstract:
ان تعلم اللغة الانكليزية في الوقت الحاضر يعتبر المفتاح الذي يفتح العديد من الابواب امام اي مهني. يرغب عدد اكثر واكثر من الناس الذين لم يتعلموا هذه اللغة من قبل ان يتعلموها ليكونوا متابعين للتغيرات المستمرة . نلاحظ ان العديد من مدرسي اللغة الانكليزية في العالم تم استدعائهم للتدريس في اماكن مرتبطة بمهنة ما. تقدم هذه الكورسات بشكل عام للبالغين من الطلاب الذين يتقاسمون اهتمام وظيفي مشترك بتعلم اللغة الانكليزية , وهذا ما يدعى باستخدام الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة.يعرف مصطلح الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة كطريقة تتمحور حول المتعلم لتدريس الانكليزية لغة اجنبية او لغة ثانية والتي تم تطويرها منذ 30 عاما. انها تلبي حاجات المتعلمين البالغين الذين هم بحاجة لتعلم لغة اجنبية لاستخدامها في مجالاتهم الخاصة , مثل العلوم , التكنولوجيا , الطب والتعليم الاكاديمي. يوصى بالبرنامج الحالي لتدريس اللغة الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة لموظفي جامعة بغداد ولاختصاصي اللغة الانكليزية الذين يرغبون بتعلم كيفية تصميم الكورسات والبرامج التي تستخدم لتدريس الانكليزية لاغراض محددة كل حسب مجال اختصاصه مثل الانكليزية في مجال الاعمال , الهندسة المدنية, الاغراض الاكاديمية وكذلك لاغراض الخدمة الصحية. علاوة على ذلك تقديمهم لما يتعلق بالانكليزية لاجل اغراض خاصة مثل الاستراتيجيات التعليمية او التوجيهية, تكييف وتطوير المواد, التقييم.طبقا لذلك فان الموظفين في جامعة بغداد بحاجة لدراسة كورس لغة انكليزية لاغراض محددة تلبي احتياجاتهم المختلفة ومتطلبات عملهم, وعلى حد علم الباحث فانه لم بتم تحليل حاجات المتعلمين ومتطلبات عملهم, وتبعا لذلك لم يتم تصميم اي كورس لتطوير اداء الكادر الوظيفي في الجامعة وفقا لهذه المعايير. وهذه هي المهمة التي ستقوم بها الدراسة الحالية, اي ان البحث الحالي يهدف الى ملء هذه الفجوة. ولتحقيق اهداف هذه الدراسة, قام الباحث باعداد فقرات استبانه ومقابلة. تتالف هاتان الاداتان من اسئلة مختلفة والتي تبحث عن معلومات حول احتياجات الموظفين الخاصة والمختلفة ومتطلبات عملهم. لتامين صدق فقرات هاتان الاداتان, تم عرضهما على مجموعة من الخبراء والاختصاصيين. وحسب الثبات باستخدام معاملة بيرسون لحساب معامل الارتباط. استخدمت النسبة المؤية لحساب اجابات افراد العينة. بعد تاكيد صدق وثبات فقرات الاستبانه والمقابلة, قام الباحث ببناء البرنامج المقترح وقد تم تامين صدق البرنامج من خلال عرضه على عدد من الخبراء والمختصين. في ضوء تحليل ومناقشة النتائج استنتج الباحث ما يلي : 1. اللغة الانكليزية مطلوبة بشكل خاص لاجل اغراض وظيفية.2. يحتاج الموظفين لكل مهارات اللغة, اي الاصغاء, التكلم, القراءة, والكتابة. 3. يتم التركيز في اختيار مواد كورس تدريس اللغة الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة على بعض جوانب اللغة كالمفردات والقواعد.4. هنالك حاجة لكلتا اللغتين العربية والانكليزية في شرح المواد.5. ان الهدف الرئيسي من وراء تدريس اللغة الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة لموظفي جامعة بغداد هو لتمكين المشاركين من التحكم او السيطرة على المهارات الاساسية في الاصغاء, التكلم, القراءة, والكتابة بطريقة تلائم اهداف ومتطلبات وظائفهم.وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة, يوصي الباحث بالاتي : 1. يجب ان يحتوي منهاج تدريس اللغة الانكليزية الذي صمم للمتعلمين في كليات جامعة بغداد على كورس لتدريس الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة والذي يتوقع استخدامه لاغراض وظيفية مستقبلية.2. يمكن استخدام تحليل حاجات الموظفين والذي تم القيام به وتحديده في هذا البحث كاساس لاي محاولة لتصميم برنامج جديد لتدريس اللغة الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة. يحدد هذا التحليل الاهداف والحاجات الرئيسية للموظفين.3. ان البرنامج المقترح لتدريس اللغة الانكليزية لاغراض خاصة يمكن اعتماده حتى لموظفي بقية الجامعات والوزارات والمؤسسات. | Nowadays to learn English is a key that opens many doors for any professional man. More and more groups of people who haven’t learned this language before require to knowing it to be updated with the continuous changes. We see that many English teachers around the world are called on to teach in career - related settings. These courses are generally integrated by adult students joined with a common professional interest in learning English. This is English for specific purposes.English for specific purposes is known as a learner - centered approach to teaching English as a foreign or second language that developed about 30 years ago. It meets the needs of mostly adult learners who need to learn a foreign language for use in their specific fields, such as science, technology, medicine, leisure, and academic learning. The current ESP course is recommended for the personnel at the University of Baghdad and foreign and second language professionals who wish to learn how to design ESP courses and programs in an area of specialization such as English for business, for civil engineering, for academic purposes, and for health service purposes. In addition, they are introduced to ESP instructional strategies, materials adaptation and development, and evaluation.In post - April - 2003 Iraq, the English language has undergone radical changes in both status and orientation. English as a second language has been gaining ground and attitude. The use of English has rechecked in the last two years and the need for it is becoming more and more, a necessity in everyday life. The increasing use of computers and the International Web has made English a must for government personnel, especially those in the academic milien. Accordingly, Personnel at the University of Baghdad need to study an English course for special purposes that meets their different needs and their job requirements. To the best of the researcher’s knowledge no analysis of the learners’ needs and job requirements has been carried out and subsequently no course has been devised to develop the University staff’s performance according to these criteria. This is a task the present study has undertaken, i.e., the current research aims at filling this gap.In order to achieve the aims of this study, the researcher has constructed a questionnaire and an interview. These two instruments consist of different questions that seek information about the employees’ different personal needs and their job requirements. To ensure the validity of these instruments, the researcher exposes them to a number of experts and specialists. Reliability is computed by using Pearson’s formula for correlation coefficient. The percentage is used to calculate the subjects’ responses. After ensuring the validity and reliability of the questionnaire and interview, the researcher has prepared the proposed programme. The validity of the proposed programme has been ensured through its exposure to a number of experts and specialists. In the light of the analysis and discussion of the results, it has been concluded that : 1. English is required basically for occupational purposes.2. All the skills namely, listening, speaking, reading, and writing are needed by the personnel.3. In selecting materials for an ESP course, certain language aspects such as grammar and vocabulary have been focused on.4. Both Arabic and English are needed to explain the materials.5. The main objective behind teaching an ESP course for the employees at the University of Baghdad is to enable the participants to manipulate the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in such a way as to satisfy the objectives and requirements of their jobs.In the light of the results and the conclusions, the researcher recommends the following : 1. The ELT course to be designed for the learners at the University of Baghdad should include an ESP course that is expected to be used for occupational purposes.2. The personnel needs analysis that has been carried out and outlined in this investigation could be used as a basis for any attempt to design a new ESP programme. This analysis characterizes the main objectives and needs of the prospective personnel.3. The suggested ESP programme is reliable even for the employees of other universities, ministries and establishments.
