Abstract:
Life in general, and especially literature, flourishes in the Fatimi era and it becomes like that of Baghdad due to the special attention it gains from Fatimi caliphs and their ministries who try to make all things suitable for poets. This gives an opportunity to let them rebel and go beyond what is acceptable in order to be famous and to show their inner suffering for others. This makes the researcher eager to investigate such topic and to highlight the most important features of this era. The title "Rebellion in Arabic Poetry in the Fatimi Era" first submitted by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein AlMahdawi and he is the person who makes me notice its importance and novelty. Moreover, the researcher intends to study such important era because she found that this era does not get sufficient attention from researchers. Another reason that makes this study significant is that the researcher does not find a scientific study aims at shedding light on rebellion phenomenon in Arabic poetry in the Fatimi era and studies its types and features.The present study consists of four chapters preceded by an introduction and followed by a conclusion and bibliography.The introduction divided into two sections. The first devoted to study the important features of the political, social, and cultural aspects of life of the Fatimi state. The second section studies the concept of rebellion.The first chapter, which entitled "the social rebellion", studies the most the most important features of social rebellion and it consists three sections. The first devoted to diversion and obscenity, while the second section investigates tipple. The third section sheds light on amatory speech concerning boys not girls. The topics of the three sections represent the negative behavior of rebellion against society.The second chapter, which is devoted to psychological rebellion, divided into three sections. The first one studies alienation. The second sheds light on sarcasm of oneself and the third studies narcissism.The third chapter highlights the political and religious rebellion. This chapter contains two sections. The first studies the political rebellion while the second deals with religious rebellion.The fourth chapter devoted to the technical study and it contains two sections. The first studies the structure of poems at that period and the expressions used to show rebellion and the wide use of verbal sentences in the poems that deems to express rebellion. The second section deals with artistic features of the poems at that period and what types of expressions used and how the poets employ the narrative manner to show rebellion.The researcher follows an analytic method to analyze the poems and texts representing rebellion in this era. The researcher relies on a number of references among them are books of literature, history, many divans of Arabic poetry and many other references which study the phenomenon of rebellion besides many theses, dissertations, periodicals and websites.
