Abstract:
The present study has dealt with one of the key poets of Abbasid poetry named Abu TeibAlMutanbi through spotting light on the nature aspect in his poetry, and thorough study and analysis have been tackled to achieve the aims of study. The study falls into two main chapters accompanied by an introduction. Chapter one,which has three sections, is limited to the study of nature and how it is depicted or represented in poetry. Section one deals with the concept of image according to traditional and modem critics via citing some poetic evidence fromAlMutanbi' s poetry. Section two is concerned with the composed representation of nature in AlMutanbi' s poetry whereas section three is limited the implicit representation of nature. Chapter two studies the representation of naturefrom a metaphorical perspective. It has three sections; section one highlights the representation of nature from animplicit metaphorical perspective, while section two deals withthe representation of nature from a metonymical perspective. Section three is concemedwith the image of nature in relation to its representational metaphor. It has been fund that Abu TeibAlMutanbi has not intended to describe the nature itself; rather nature has been used by him to nicely portray the poetic image which he has intended to draw.
