Abstract:
The current study aims to know the Iraqi intellectual production with all its form in respect to books , periodical, thesis, registered in the Legal deposit center and to know the administrative structure , staff and procedures used to apply the Iraqi National deposit law . Study Use used survey method and results analysis during the duration from 2004 to 2014 , amounted 48,386 with all its forms and Recourses types .It has been analyzed objectively and linguistically. The research also aims to know the results in respect to the university thesis within the Iraqi universities and knowing more colleges based on years . The study has used Square Law for measuring the spiritual degree and the relationship among the researched results.The study has reached to a set of results : 1. The total of books in and outside Iraq during the researched period is ( 14619) book and most prolific years have been 2013, with ( 2670) books , and non - prolific year has been 2004 with 317 books.2. The periodical, books registered in the legal deposit center amounted (1292) , most prolific year has been 2012 with 187.3. It has been indicated that the private printers are the most one in printing the books, amounted (10402).4. The total number of theses and university dissertations achieved during the researched period is 32475 thesis and dissertation that being distributed among 1083 thesis , high diploma ( 23197) Masterthesis and (8195) dissertation. The study has concluded with a set of recommendations : 1. Building database for theses and university dissertations and working in coordination with the administration of departments of high studies in the University colleges for indicating the subjects.Knowing either these theses and dissertations have been researched or not and giving a clear picture of the country 's direction toward the cognitive and scientific trend.2. Sustaining department of information as to be specialized into working on depositing and registration. Registering the electronic programs entering into the Iraqi and global markets licensed by the state. 3. It is necessarily to direct the concern of the state's consultation affairs Council to make amendment and to enact a special law of legal depositing as to be suited with the electronic references and information technology applications; besides , the ;possibility ofinvestment for the modern technology.
