Abstract: This research deals with the speech acts in pre - Islamic poetry a study in the old fable texts to apply it to three models of it.This study falls into three chapters preceded by a preface and an introduction. The introduction holds the title : speech acts between linguistics and literature. It has two sections, the first chapter is entitled : speech acts under the arbitration of Um Jundub. It deals with the analysis of the arbitration of Um Jundub between two great poets of pre - islamic poetry : Umru' Al - Qays ans Alqama bin Abda Al - Fahl. The second chapter tackles the story of the revolutionary poet Ufayrah bint Abbad Al - Jadeediyah. While the third chapter talks about the news of Labeed bin Rabeeah Al - Amiri with Al - Nu'man bin Al - Munther and A - Rabee bin Ziyad Al - Absi. The study ends with a conclusion. Here are some of the important findings. They are as follows : 1. The study shows that it is not possible to apply the speech acts on al the text of poetry, rather it can be applicable to some few texts compared to pre - islamic poetry which can be contained in this theory.2. The term "excellence" where writing in it becomes spread in the next eras, the arbitration of Um Jundub plnted its first seed in the Arabic critical brain before Islam.3. What is going between Umru' Al - Qays and Alqama represents a manifold breach for the system of Arabic pragmatic values before Islam.4. The historical oldness of the news of Ufayrah bint Abbad directs the learner to understand the Arab personality in its first roots where it is a personality which fears the powerful ruler whatever he does. This research may open the way in front of new studies to spread life in such important topics.
